Honestly, when it comes down to picking a good scum who won versus a good scum who lost, you're going to go for the one who won every time, and rightfully so.

his play does deserve recognition because his play

Don Corleone is a body of work award.

I don't think winning is a prequisite for being nominated for any awards.

Its not "sacrilegious" but it most certainly is "stupid" and considering there isn't an award for "best performance for a single game by a single Mafiaso" then I'd also add a "a sympton of completely misguided priorities".

Magna's play wasn't good enough because he lost. His play was poor because you want him to give him Best Performance in a Losing Cause (and re-introduce the award for him) rather than giving him a good scum award.

If his early play was better than you wouldn't be nominating him for Losing Cause. Therefore he's getting nominated for the award based on his early play being poor. Theregore its an award for poor play.

Any player can play an absolutely brilliant game but still lose. And any player can play a craptastic game and win. Chesskid in Liten is an example of the later. To use an analogy Micheal Jordan played for subpar Chicago Bulls teams for several years until he got a good supporting cast (and I am not comparing myself to him … this is just an example). Because his teams didn’t win in the play-offs does not mean he played poorly.

If your objection is the reintroduction of the award that is one argument. But trying to say that in a team game by eventually losing it means you must have played poorly is just stupid.

No I'm not.

If its not deserving of an award if he plays (a bit) better but it is if he plays at that level then its a reward for poor play. (especially if we break it up into tiny chunks and call his mistakes "poor play")

I think "giving up" is just stating it too strongly - I can easily imagine a player not quite believing in the possibility of a positive outcome not playing his best game without a conscious decision on his part.

IN ONE GAME. I've played enough games with him as bad that he had to hit a good one sooner or later. I still haven't seen a reason for him to get this nom.

Read SitMOA. The first one. More proof he deserves it. It might seem like he didn't do much, but he was helping me out plenty, he just realized that he didn't need to do much ingame and milked that. Definitely wouldn't have won that if he hadn't played like he did. He's a smart kid.

- He's come a long way from when I first played with him.

Read his play in the Abandoned Prison Mafia.

Then read his play in Blackest Night Mafia.

It would not be a stretch to think those games were two completly different players. In Blackest Night he effectively used his role to detect multiple scum and despite pretty much claiming PR Day 1 he survived to the endgame. I think he's becoming a vastly underrated player.

The Town of Blackest Night Mafia

for

Best Performance Pro Town Team

- Successfully lynched scum players for five straight Days (Days 1 to 5) and vigged two more scum players. The Town completely destroyed the known original 9 scum roles by the Dawn of Day 6 and lost a 5 player endgame due to a Cult that was unknown at game's start.
