@Hinduragi: Can't inform you about Defcon 2, but stealing abilities from them is definately something to think about. Taking away submarine or bulletproof could hurt them a lot.

I didn't phrase that right. I wanted to consider whether I should pick the town abilities I want or go for the scum's favored abilities and steal them from them.

Pedit: Thanks, AV.

I'm going to take this moment to read over the original DEFCON as well as DEFCON 2.0 so I can get a better idea of what's going on. Is there anything I should know about those games that differs greatly from this one?

@Hez; DEFCON 1 was a mini with a SK role. DEFCON 2 had two scum factions but no SK role.

@Hindu; surprisingly, only one scum went for Sub. It seems both scum teams were concerned with getting protective roles, or otherwise townish looking abilities. You may well be able to go for your favoured town abilities whilst keeping high scum priority targets out of their hands.

Mod:
There's 25 players in the game, but the setup only lists 23. Where were the other 2 added?

(There are supposed to be 25 players - that is an error. Fixed now. --AGM)

Oh, no reason for Total War. Easy choice here.

Vote against Total War

Unfortunately I'm really pressed for time, guys. I second Vi's calling out dana for calling Total War "confusing", but I really can't make a detailed post right now.

So Total War is clearly as dead as the likelihood that Katsuki wasn’t screwing around pretending to be drunk above. At this point we are just waiting for straglers to post to move to Defcon 2.

Looking at the player list it appears only Screaming Death Clan (who may not be activated yet) or one of its heads haven’t checked in.

@MOD
Would either Fate or Reck posting in thread satisfy the Defcon 1 requirements (similar to Vi posting in place of the likely yet to be activated Vi/CSL Hydra)?

(The Screaming Death Clan hydra is activated. The game will move to DEFCON 4 once they confirm. --AGM)

Considering the members of said Hydra, this surprises me a bit.

In DEFCON 2.0, all my reads were near spot on (despite being lynched Day 1) due to the first 3 DEFCON phases. I wouldn't give them up just so we can see bodies hit the floor faster and cull out some of the playerbase.

It's not needed, but I would be voting against Total War as well.

I went a stretch of frustrating games, which led to me wanting to take a break from Mafia for a while. Intentionally modkilling myself in WoW was done both from a strategic standpoint but also to remove myself from ignorance of the town that was left. It was a poor decision, yes, but I think I had just reached a breaking point in dealing with my perception of ignorance. I hope we don't have a problem Faraday.

Explain.

Maybe the recently ending Superhero Mafia will explain what I'm talking about. Look how horribly a few town kills that were in the hands of one player screwed the town over. Emphasizing our "vig" shots and taking away our ability to talk things over is most likely going to confuse people and help the scum.
