if you used the vote without explaination technique previously then my bad. I just took it as a tongue and cheek vote without explanation kind of finger at me. So my bad.rolandofthewhite wrote:I wasn't aware I was mimicking you, nor was I aware that Saber Kitty was a serial killer, though I now see the similarity in their names.
I am not calling Saber Kitty a SK but if you are the serial killer roland I can understand the confusion.-

I'm not sure I understand the PeaceBringer bandwagon that's beginning to form. Could someone explain it to me? Is it any more than the fact that he changes his vote without explanation?
I didn't like SaberKitty's post where she voted for Vesuvan because it didn't seem to have any logical basis. And I like post 95 even less. After jumping on the Vesuvan bandwagon unconvincingly, now that bandwagon is running out of steam, she jumps on the newly forming PB bandwagon.
Vote: SaberKitty.-

Either you were lurking on purpose (scummy) or not paying attention to this game (poor play).Vesuvan wrote: Not noticing a thread is open when the other threads I've posted in are in a different forum is a scum tell now?
In my opinion this is a threat, with a purpose to keep yourself from claiming. Vesuvan, do you think your role is the sole one winning the game for the town? So precious a role, that when out on open, the game is lost for the town?Vesuvan wrote:If someone puts the lethal vote on, then they are running a very big risk of being lynched in turn the following day and there is a very good chance of them being scum.
I'm really torn between SaberKat and Vesuvan, when it comes to voting. I still feel Vesuvan is scummy, but SaberKat just passed him. I'm ready to put that lethal vote on Vesuvan though.

Things seem to be rolling here. Random thoughts:
Vesuvian: Not really all that scummy. Was lurking, but isn't anymore.
SK: Inconsistent, trying to deflect her own bandwagon. Slightly scummy.
Olio: In the double post above mine, he states that Vesuvian is suspicious, with no explanation. He states that he is willing to. Put that lethal vote on Vesuvian". Why? For lurking? I've been getting scummy vibes from olio all game, but that's just a gut feeling.FOS
Axelrod: I've never really got why speculation is scummy. It's just speculation, it's not like it's bad for the town or anything. Why would the mafia be more inclined to speculate on the situation than the town? Not really scummy.
Enteryournamehere: Post 48...stifling discussion? Scummy, to me.This is just here so my posts don't look so ugly when I edit them.-

Wow. I'm a bit shocked at the speed that this bandwagon is shifting. Just a few points to think about:
• Full props to Vesuvan for his cool-headed play. However, the speed that people unvoted without asking for more info makes me believe that there is a possibility that a few scum could have been on a bandwagon of one of their own, and jumped off after his "I'm really not gonna claim" response. Again, I have no proof of this, just throwing it out there fir you all to think about as a possibility.
• The SK bandwagon has gained speed VERY quickly, which makes me believe that the scum has jumped on. SK has deserved votes based on her action and the "ninth vote facade" after not really showing the rest of day one. However, the relative speed of the formation of this bandwagon is a bit unsettleing.
• As of right now, I'm only going toUnvote: Vesuvanvut in turn I have to keep an eye on him. I will alsoFoS: SaberKittyfor reasons stated above, but as well,FoS: Peacebringerfor seeming to be Mr. Bandwagon-starter / jumper."LML = Mafia God" - Pie Is Good

Unvote Vesuvan, vote Peacebringer. I can't stand it when people try to pass off scummy behavior by saying "that's part of my playstyle."
FOS: PBuG. To me, that post sounds like "I'm okay with voting for either of those people, cause neither is my scum partner. So I'll join the forming bandwagon."prinny, dood-

Or logging onto the site quickly to post in two games that I was actively participating in and was able to reply to quickly, and not checking other forums since I didn't have time to.olio wrote:

Really, the point you're bringing up isn't much of a point at all.
In my opinion this is a threat, with a purpose to keep yourself from claiming. Vesuvan, do you think your role is the sole one winning the game for the town? So precious a role, that when out on open, the game is lost for the town?[/quote]Vesuvan wrote:If someone puts the lethal vote on, then they are running a very big risk of being lynched in turn the following day and there is a very good chance of them being scum.
It's not a threat; it's a statement of how I would expect players react when someone puts a lethal vote onto someone who has just explained themselves. That's a large part of why I am generally unwilling to claim without a good reason to do so.
As to how important my role is, that should have no relevance whatsoever on my decision. If I'm a vanilla townie, then I'm better off unclaimed in that situation to keep our power roles hidden from the scum, who I don't doubt were on that bandwagon to either get a quick lynch or fish for information.
wtf? You're ready to lynch someone for refusing to claim with no real reason? Added to the BS "logic" I've quoted above...I'm really torn between SaberKat and Vesuvan, when it comes to voting. I still feel Vesuvan is scummy, but SaberKat just passed him.I'm ready to put that lethal vote on Vesuvan though.

Yes, I realise that, and that's why I only don't claim if there is no cause to do so. The reasons behind the wagon on me were very weak so I asked the people calling for me to claim if they had a good reason for me to do so.the silent speaker wrote:If you're lynched, Vesuvan, your role is gone anyway. And wehaveto lynch somebody. If we don't lynch, we can't win.
Don't get me wrong - if there is good reason for suspicion on a player, I feel that the player in question should claim. However I don't think they should claim under a poorly reasoned bandwagon.-

How much reason do day 1 bandwagons usually have?
And for another thing, the town could lose an important role, for all we know ,because someone rushed the lynch vote without waiting for a claim OR because the victim decided he didn't care. Sure it worked out better so far, but when 9 people are voting for you, it's a bit late to worry about their reasons.Corpses designed with you in mind-

Peacebringer wrote: SK- The good old retaliation vote. BTW, have you noticed here that I get strong reaction by voting and not giving any reasons for it. Always love that and gives behaviors to sort through. It may be a little hard for you to understand. Also can get interesting voting patterns. This is about all I care to explain about how I vote.I’m sorry, but I just don’t understand. Are we, or are we not in a game where all we know is what is posted? If you’re just going to leave us in the dark rather than explain what you observe in our “interesting voting patterns” than why do it? Isn’t it better to pass on your information incase you’re the one(one?) killed the next night? That’s how I play the game, anyway.
For the rest of you who didn’t understand my logic, I’m sorry. The way I play mafia is not only to win but to enjoy the game. I was of two minds when I voted for vesuvan, and hopefully explained them. The reason I voted was to ensure that the game would continue. However, he showed up and so I unvoted. I would rather a lynch than have a modkill for an inactive- fewer deaths. *shrug*

Usually not all that much, but usually more than the wagon on me did.The Shadow wrote:How much reason do day 1 bandwagons usually have?
This is probably something to discuss elsewhere, but except for one occasion where I've tried a similar thing when scum and the wagon against me did have a lot of good reasons I haven't had that happen. It's the way I've played this game for some time now, and I haven't had anyone who is not scum put that final vote on.And for another thing, the town could lose an important role, for all we know ,because someone rushed the lynch vote without waiting for a claim OR because the victim decided he didn't care. Sure it worked out better so far, but when 9 people are voting for you, it's a bit late to worry about their reasons.
(If you or anyone else wants to discuss this further, and if you're discussing the playstyle in general rather than this specific instance, mafia discussion is probably a better place than a game-in-progress)-

I see it over and over again and usually the person called scummy ends up not scummy and often it was in fact the scum that spread that seed of thinking to begin with-seen it happen over and over-

after reading SK last post--UNVOTE--those that jumped on that lynch without much to go on are worth taking a look at one point or another--
tempted to vote ENYNH but while many scum do pick on styles they don't like many innocent do as well. Taking a look at the SK vote, PBug stands out.
Vote PBug-
SK-- I don't expect you to know or understand my style. It is what it is--
