Yes, that's right. I was intending on running it later, but I felt bad for the site that the Large Theme queue was empty, and the players who pre/in'd were all okay with an earlier start.
This is a 23 player, 2 faction game between 18 members of the
Hunter Association
and 5 members of the Phantom Troupe
, with characters from the Yorknew City arc of HunterxHunter. Flavor knowledge is NOT necessary (you can join just because you like large themes with cool roles), but it will increase your enjoyment. Hunter Association aligned characters are not necessarily Hunters or involved with the Association in any way. There will be spoilers for this arc, but no spoilers for the following parts - if you don't want the game to spoil you, make sure you've watched up to episode 59 of the 2011 anime or read up to chapter 120 of the manga by the time it starts. Spoilers for anything in HunterxHunter beyond this point must be in spoiler tags, or you'll be punished, so watch out! Note that all but the latest episode of the anime are legally free to watch (it's worth paying for higher quality + the newest episode, imo).As a consequence of the 2-faction nature of this game, there are no Serial Killers, Cultists, Lynchers, Cults, Survivors, or similar. No player will have their win condition changed from what it was at the start of the game.
This will be a hydra friendly game - hydras are allowed, and players do not have veto rights over whether a hydra joins. However, there is a limit of 3 heads maximum per hydra, and a limit of 5 “bonus players” as a result of hydras (so five 2-headed hydras or two 2-headed hydras and one 3-headed hydra are the limit.)
This game will use an arbitrary justice system. I will decide whether a player should be allowed in to the game or not. If you believe you have information about a players performance that I may not know and would significantly influence my decision whether to allow them in, please PM it to me. I will not publicly name anyone who shares information in this way. Note that I may ban one or more players I normally approve of if I feel that a certain combination of players will negatively impact the game. Please do not take it personally.
As a final note: If you skip the credits, it's pretty reasonable to get through an episode of Hunter in 20 minutes or fewer. As such, getting up to episode 59 with 20 hours of watching is easily done. So, if you've never seen Hunter but are interested in the game, you can try to watch it now! And, if multiple players are trying to marathon through Hunter, I am willing to delay the start of the game for a few days by request to allow those players time to finish watching.
