C&C Mafia - DAY ONE (Apparently Abandoned)

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Mon Nov 17, 2003 7:19 am

Post by Dourgrim »

C&C (Couples & Copulation) Mafia

“Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Madame Myrtle’s Mansion for the Moderation and Mending of Misfiring Marriages, Meddlesome Misogynists, and Mean-spirited Man-haters! Each and every one of you came to us with your respective spouses looking for help with your marital, and Madame Myrtle is eager to help! Here at the Mansion, we use an unusual but effective method of therapy in which we isolate you from your spouse to give you time to relax, reflect on your marriage and the love you share together, and find for yourself the best route to recovery. Within a few days, we’re sure you’ll be back on the road to marital bliss!

Enjoy your stay in the Mansion!”

That’s what the perky (and remarkably attractive  ) tour guide says as the twenty of you enter the Mansion. Who knew that there were philanderers, nymphomaniacs, and home-wreckers harboring impure thoughts and wicked hearts lurking amongst you? Only time will tell whether you can remain faithful to your spouse or if you’ll be seduced and forced to leave the Mansion (and served divorce papers). Let the games begin!

The Rules

The standard rules of Mafia (at least in my games) apply here, with only one addition: each of you has been secretly assigned a room in the Mansion in either the North Wing (the men’s rooms, numbered 1 - 10) or the South Wing (the women’s rooms, numbered 11 - 20). Each Night half of you will be allowed to visit one other room in the Mansion in an attempt to find your spouse (or to seduce someone else’s spouse ). On odd-numbered Nights, the men can each visit one woman’s room; on even-numbered Nights, the women visit the men’s rooms. If you find your spouse, the two of you may become a two-person Mason or Mafia group (depending on whether you’re Faithful or a Two-Timer and other factors), and may communicate at Night... if not, you will be told either the name of the role or of the player (50% chance of each) whose room you visited. There may be other effects involved, both helpful and detrimental, which may become apparent as the game goes on depending on whose room you visit... consider yourself warned.
Note that you may
not
choose to visit a room in the same Wing as yours (all of you are heterosexual, so get over it.).

The Faithful win when all of the Two-Timers are kicked out of the Mansion by majority vote. Two-Timers win if they are the only Two-Timing person/couple still in the Mansion ~and~ they control at least 50% of the Day’s vote. Good luck!

GAME STATUS:
It is now DAY ONE. 18 still at the Mansion, 10 votes needed to send someone home.

Confirm.

Question: Will we know which wing everyone is in at the start of the game? Or is that part of the game that we need to figure out? Or is it too early to ask any questions?

You'll be choosing a room to visit in the Wing appropriate to your gender (North Wing if you're a female, South Wing if you're male)... you have no clue who's in what room at first. That's part of the trick of this game: figuring out who's in which rooms and therefore finding your spouse.

And it's never too early to ask questions... just don't be too horribly surprised if I stop answering them. :P

Duh, I get it now. We will just supply a number when it is our turn. 1 to 10 if I am a female, 11 to 20 if I am a male. Got it.

By the way, feel free to start sending in your choices,
men
... it won't matter if I have to replace people at this point (and it's not like you'll know who you're targetting anyway, right?), and it'll make for a quicker Night One.

Unless a role has a posting restriction in its description, I don't see why you couldn't say whatever you want in the thread (just like any other Mafia game). What would possibly make this game any different from any other in that regard? :?
