@Mad Jackal: you are allowed to negotiate via PM, but it wouldn't make much of a difference, because the trade actions have to be done here and the resources you have can be seen by everyone on the first post.

@Raffles: btw Asia is not the current Asia in this game, in ancient times Asia was the area now called Turkey, but it doesn't matter .

Oh and the excange rates don't change every week, but when some values are not fair enough (if one province would have too much of an advantage for example) I might change them. If I change them, it won't be during a week.

Can you trade goods with goods?

Are the trasactions instantaneous? i.e. Asia buys slaves from Brittania. Does it arrive in asia instantaneously or do I have to wait a turn for the resource to arrive?

If you want to upgrade an office, do you have to have the required resource in your province? If so, I can see this is going to be a problem later where we can't physically occupy the resource in that province to upgrade to the next level.

Thanks Lawrencelot, I know it'll be public info and I'm not trying anything back handed or sinister, but some of the trades I'm imagining might involve some haggling (offer / counter offer) and such, so I would prefer to keep it on pm to avoid flooding the thread with useless drivell... (Post after post of me making and offer and another posting decline, infinite.

Obviously the final agreed to trade would have to be posted on board

@Raffles: you can trade goods for goods, but when you buy from/sell to a province you can only pay with coins.
I was thinking that some trades would take several days to perform, but this would take too much time and make the game too complicated, so

trades are instantaneous

All goods you have are not bound to one place, just to a player. So for every action, also upgrading offices, you just need to have the resources, they don't need to be in a certain place because I won't keep track of where the resources you have come from.
@Mad Jackal: well the game is meant for negotiating trades, if you do it via PM your PM box would get full and if you do it in this thread this thread will get full, it's up to you, but negotiating is the essence of this game.
@bird1111: sorry but I wanted to start the first week early in the (real) week, so I had to start or wait a whole week. I didn't expect that you were one of the last people to confirm, but the others were quicker than I thought.

geraintm, you need to pick a region.

Raffles, every week you get to buy first, then there's player trading and then you get to sell stuff. Given an infinite amount of weeks, you will generally speaking become infinitely rich, yes, but I would be very much surprised if that were to become an issue.
