Then why don't you keep your vote on me?
Seriously.
You also missed one post back there with the red text.
No penalty. Makes me think you're full of it...-

It's possible, but I'd be wary of trying to outguess the mod. It's far from impossible for scum to have a post restriction like this, and while it might suggest that he's town, it's ultimately better to evaluate him based on his behaviour. We shouldn't give scummy players passes based on post restrictions. It is something to think about, perhaps, but again, only once we're at the point where we're evaluating Guardian's claim.Lawrencelot wrote:By reading Guardian's last post, we can conclude that he is also not a townie. However, I have a theory: why would the mod give guardian a post restriction if he's scum, because this post restriction is attracting votes (there are people who vote guardian ONLY because of the weird posts, not everybody of course). I think this posting restriction and the votehopping is a disadvantage for him, as it attracts votes and makes him look scummy to some people. So: could he have this disadvantage because he also has a really helpful power role? He could be a protecting investigating roleblocking vig who has to look scummy as a disadvantage. (just a theory, and an exaggerating one, but I would like to hear others opinions on this)
FoS: Phoebus
I think Guardian is scummy, too, but you seem more sure than I think the evidence justifies at this point. How do we know that Guardian won't be penalised for not including red text in that post? For all we know, he'll lose some ability. Or perhaps he has to make a certain number of mistakes before he's punished.
Guardian, unless your restriction also states that you must make everything you say as confusing as possible, I don't appreciate how cryptic and unhelpful you're being. I'm sure it's frustrating only being able to write one sentence per post, but you don't have to try to jam a hundred thoughts into each sentence. If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now.-

I did not find anything significant just searching online, but I'm not convinced that he still does not have a post restriction. He might have a certain number of slip-up posts he is allowed to make. I think it would be a risk to lynch Guardian today, as there is a good chance he really has a power role. There also may be a chance that he is a jester, or somthing of that type that actually wants us to lynch him.AddyMuyo: lesbians love their dogs

Am I missing some sarcasm there?ryan wrote:If Guardian is a townie he is sure going about proving it the wrong with with all the red posts that seem to be annoying people
Why should I even bother listening to you anymore?Guardian wrote:my votes hardly reflect who I think is scummy,
Lawrence - giving a "really helpful power role" such a crippling restriction is silly.
Same with Sarcastro's point. We don't know if there is a punishment?
Well...with a blatant restriction/requirement, I would expect a blatant punishment also.
Otherwise the person would be tempted to use this leeway to an advantage not intended by the mod.
I mean PBuG *is* weird, but I don't think he's entirely stupid.
So, I can't credit him with either of the above possibilities.
Hopefully, I don't have to amend my opinion of our mod at the end of this game... =/-

I disagree, I think that's a weak and risky assumption. Also, the mod posted "What Might Be Going Wrong" in red the next post after Guardian failed to do so, and he had never used red text previously. That could have been a reminder, an indication that he has one less free slip-up, an actual role penalty we'd be unaware of, or a combination of any of those. We have no way of knowing in any case, and trying to play wifom with the mod isn't all that prudent.Phoebus in post 83 wrote:Well...with a blatant restriction/requirement, I would expect a blatant punishment also.
I agree with Sarcastro on this, let's look at behavior and speculate more when the time is right.-

I'm sorry, but I just think that you're assuming too much. I can think of multiple scenarios that would not include the mod revealing that Guardian was being punished for failing his restriction. Why does the punishment have to be blatant? Why can't it have to do with some night ability we don't know about? What advantage exactly is Guardian getting? I just don't understand why you're so quick to assume these things, and quite frankly it seems like you're just pursuing Guardian because he's an easy target.Phoebus wrote:Same with Sarcastro's point. I'm not 100% sure about Guardian, but I find my own theory more likely to believe for now. Phoebus seems to be the only one who is sure Guardian is scum, and the reason he gives is the annoying posts. Why didn't you look at other posts of Guardian? I looked at one other post of him in a game and it's without 5 red words, one sentence and a vote.
Guardian: I'm ok with you posting less, I won't vote you for lurking. Just post when you find someone suspicious, or when people want you to post. Or when you have something to add to the discussion. Well nevermind this, just post unless it would confuse town.
Eteocles does have a good point though, I didn't think of the possibility of a Jester. However, Jesters want themselves lynched, and Guardian seems to try to help the town, although he failes sometimes.Leaving mafiascum temporarily or not due to circumstances-

I will get snippy here.PBuG wrote:ryan wrote:Mod can we get another vote count?I don't see the point where there are no notable changes since my last post a page ago.
I really think that is a ridiculous answer when a vote count has been requested. Vote counting is one of the mod's duties.
I'm trying to follow a certain line of thought and I don't wish to backtrack in order to verify.
How is that difficult?
Sarcastro and Illumina-
OK. I concede that I am making assumptions.
My views are coloured by what I would do as a mod.
Until further notice/information, it will likely remain so.
And yes, my irritation is exacerbated by the annoying red.
Do with this what you will.-

back the truck up!
Phoebus is annoyed with the restriction.
Phoebus does not like blatant restrictions.
Phoebus thinks there should be blatant punishments for missing such a restriction.
Phoebus could do without the annoying red all the time.
Phoebus can envision a scenario where such a restriction is faked.
Phoebus does not care to read red all the time and not find period pauses.
Phoebus is fine with getting rid of annoying requirement guy.
Phoebus isnotsureGuardian is scum.

So, it seems we have a Guardian vs. Pheobus situation here.
why vote Guardian
- annoying post restriction
- thoughts are rarely helpful to the town
- thoughts are confusing
- blatent vote hopping
why vote Pheobus
- a little too sure that guardian is scum
- less risk of him being a jester
- is adament on getting Guardian lynched
I think I've convered the basics here. I don't see either as being exceptionally scummy, and I think lynching either right now isnotthe best course of action.
I willunvotefor now.
noted: In Illumina's post 89 it is pointed out that the mod did use red text right after guardian failed to do so. Intriging to say the least.-
