Thursday, August 27, 2015. Earlier in the month, StrangerCoug had built a special hangout for some of his closest friends called The Cougar's Den. And you—yes, you!—were among those friends. None of you guys seemed to know much about the building code, so it was hard to keep standing, but it was still a home away from home.
StrangerCoug had just gone back to The University of Texas at El Paso to continue his computer science studies. He wished he didn't have to take Calculus II again, but he otherwise seemed very excited about his classes.
On his way back to the Den from class, he was ambushed. You find his bound, gagged, and blindfolded body on the front step, lifeless and stained with blood. You break down in tears, crying over his body. Nobody like losing friends, especially this way.
Nearby, you find his
Ozy and Millie
tote bag. You pull out his binder from and open it up. You unzip the pencil pouch and take out a mechanical pencil from it. You take a piece of paper out of the binder as well before closing it. On the paper, you write "R.I.P. Jeffrey 'StrangerCoug' Hope, 12/26/89–8/27/15," and leave it next to his body, weighed down by a rock.
You later learn that the prime suspects are all people from the Den. StrangerCoug had been betrayed.
Now you wonder about the kind of crowd you're hanging around. Who had a reason to kill the leader of the pack, and why? Tensions rise as you root out the killers: you didn't all come from the same place, after all!
GENERAL GAME RULES
Unless contradicted by your role PM:
Votes must be in vote tags or bold tags (I prefer the former) to count. Unvotes are not required before voting someone else, but can help with clarity. A majority of votes is required to lynch—no exceptions. You may also vote No Lynch; if the majority does so, day will end early without a lynch.
Each day will be three weeks if more than 18 players are alive, two weeks if between 7 and 18 players inclusive are alive, and one week if fewer than 7 players are alive. Each night will be two days.
If three consecutive cycles pass with no lynch or kill attempt, the game automatically ends in a draw.
Prods go out after 48 hours of inactivity. If you do not respond to a prod within 24 hours or I have to prod you a third time, I will replace you.
The mod's color is purple. Don't use it.
Do not pretend to break the rules or encourage others to break the rules.
If something needs my attention, PM me or bold the word "Mod" followed by what you want to tell me.
Additionally, all site rules apply. (I allow "Bah!" posts, by the way.) Nobody in this game has a role that permits violations of these.
RULES SPECIFIC TO THIS GAME
I have appointed DeasVail to be my backup mod in case I don't have Internet access or anticipate such. Please be nice to him.
This game is inspired by an actual Skype group chat called The Cougar's Den. If you are signed up to play and would like me to allow you in, add me on Skype at strangercoug (if we're not contacts already) and let me know there.
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"
Damnit BPC, I was just thinking okay, cool, I'm down to just two games, ones hydra, sweet..and then you come and give me a reason to sign up for another game.
"I used to think you had this elegant-trolly, minimalist playstyle. Then I realized the playstyle is ~Lazy~
The true enlightenment was realizing that they are the same thing."

"who the fuck fakeclaims Tracker like that
WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT"
~Alisae
A note to everyone: If you're adding me onto Skype and it's not obvious who you are from your display name there, modify the message "Hi, I'd like to add you on Skype" to include your MafiaScum username. I don't add contacts indiscriminately.
