Rules (blatantly stolen from mith):

• This is a game. Have fun. Don't let things get personal.
  
• During Day, you may vote for the player you want to lynch. Votes should be in the form
  Vote: Player
  or they may not be counted. It is helpful to "
  Unvote
  " when switching your vote to a different player, though this is not required.
  
• Whenever a player has a majority in votes, that player will be lynched, his or her role will be revealed, and Night will begin. Once a player has reached a majority, no votes or unvotes will be registered. You may also
  Vote: No Lynch
  ; a majority will end Day without a death.
  
• If discussion lags or Day goes on for too long, a deadline may be set. If no one has reached a majority at the deadline, no one will be lynched.
  
• During Night, players with role abilities may send targets for those abilities. Choices are due by the posted deadline.
  
• Don't edit/delete posts. Use the "Preview" button to look over your post before you submit it.
  
• Don't quote any PMs from the Moderator.
  
• Mafia are allowed to communicate by PM during the Night phase only. Otherwise, do not talk to anyone about this game outside the thread.
  
• If you're dead, you're dead. Do not talk until the game is over; this includes talking to living players outside the thread.
  
• If you have any question, complaint, or comment, PM the Moderator.

You are a member of the Mafia with XXXX. Each Night, you and your partner may communicate by PM and decide on a victim. When you have chosen someone to attack, send the name of that player to the Moderator by PM. You may not communicate during Day. You win when all the other players are dead, or nothing can prevent this.

You are a Cop. Each Night, you may choose a player to investigate by sending the name of that player to the Moderator by PM. You will be told whether that player is Mafia or not. You win when all the Mafia have been eliminated.

You are a Doctor. Each Night, you may choose a player to protect by sending the name of that player to the Moderator by PM. Your target cannot die if attacked that Night. You cannot protect yourself. You win when all the Mafia have been eliminated.

You are a Townie. You win when all the Mafia have been eliminated.

@populartajo: yes, often games get by a little slow. Several reasons could be of the different locations people live, (snailman in New Zealand, I live in Europe, other might live in America), which makes that we look at this thread at different times. Also, from what I learned from my previous newbie games, it takes a little bit of time to get grip on the game, so people might be a bit reserved with posting at the start.

STUFF FOR DAY 1:

Most games usually start off with random votes, and lynch minus two (two votes from lynch) is usually where the line is drawn for the first few pages. Why? Well, if you put someone at two votes, and the mafia want to speedlynch, they have to give away both of their members.

Lynch Minus (-)1 (one from lynch), is alot more dangerous, as it allows scum to speedlynch, but when we lynch one of those, we only have one lynched scum, while the other hides on day 3, and presumably cruises to an easy win.

Any questions about the game (rules, pms, whether it's ok to post or not) should probably be sent to the mod.

Any other questions can be answered by the local IC's.

Also, NO ONE TELL US YOUR ROLE, or what's in your pm.

STUFF FOR DAY 2:

First off, Lylo is lynch or lose. If mafia can win if you lynch wrong.

In this game, mislynching a townie will make you go into lylo, and scum can speedlynch if you place a vote. So if we lynch wrong today, DON'T PLACE A VOTE TOMORROW UNTIL YOU'RE SURE!

(just trying to compile all of the normal newbie stuff into one post, to try and "enrich" the game for later, and HOPEFULLY avoid an early deadline.)

It concerns me that you didn't know you were putting me at L-2, since the previous vote on me was right before yours, and it says very clearly at the top that it is four to lynch. (Also, I don't find L-2 in a newb scummy at all- check out my previous newbie games, I do it all the time just to get things moving. Therefore, I find the retraction, based on the fear it might make you look scummy, much worse than the actual action).

I find Snailman's vote/unvote quite strange actually. With his actual vote he says he's eager to get things out of random voting. Which I took as one of the reasons he put a second vote on someone.

And The Fonz' vote, I feel is a bit of an OMGUS vote.

Also, populartajo, if this is your first game, I don't think we'll be getting anywhere fast on the first page, perhaps even first two pages. People will probably be careful, so that's why things seem to go a bit slowly (in my opinion at least).
