Unvote, Vote: Mills

Like I already said, waiting for DS to at least say something in his defense before you bring out this rhetoric against him would be a good idea. I'm really uncomfortable with the way you're talking about going after him at this stage in the game for what you perceive to be bad play in other games.

QFT. I imagine egruntz is trying to use his mind and his vote to help the town in the way he thinks is best. It just so happens he has a different view of how day one should go down from the majority here.

I'm not sure if I have chimed in on the egruntz issue (I believe I haven't), but I get a pro-town vibe from him personally.

Currently my highest suspicions are Disciple Slayer and Egruntz.
So in summary: You think egruntz really is trying to help the town, but you also think he might be mafia.

I refer you to his generally unhelpful posts in this thread and this game (http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6636) where he manages to also be a retard. Also he seems to be lynched a lot on Day One so let's not break the trend!
This is jumping out at me. The way a player plays in one game doesn't neccesarily reflect the way they play in another. Someone who is very aggressive in one game might take a backseat in another. I would throw a vote on, but DS is admittedly playing fairly stupidly for now, just randomly throwing votes on people for the sake of "bandwagoning". This might be as a result of the Chrissie holidays but it is still just plain annoying when you're trying to get a hold on who is mafia.

Fair enough, that post does seem to be saying two differnt things. We start the game knowing only are own status. (Assuming towieness) There fore everyone else is viewed with the same amount of suspicion. As the game progresses our suspicion of certain players raises or falls based on what we read. Being day one, everyone seems normaly suspicious, except Disciple Slayer who I am very highly suspicious of, and Egruntz who has only a wee bit more suspicion because he MAY be playing up newbie tells, but I am not convinced he is. Basicly what I was trying to say is that I feel he really is tring to help the town, but his actions bear watching. What I should have said in the above post is:
My highest suspicion is Disciple Slayer, and I will be keeping a close eye on Egruntz to see is he continues to play the clueless newbie

I'd like to point out that just because I'm new to this site, doesn't mean I haven't played this game before. Sure, other sites discourage the act of not lynching on the first day as well; it's just what I
personally
think is best. As I've said before, lynching could easily go against the town.

However, seeing that intelligent and interesting discussion has stirred, I don't feel that there's a reason to vote for no lynch
at this point
. I was simply stating that no lynching is a good option (imo) if we don't get any valuable information out of the first day.

"Consider it this way.In any mafia game where the mafia aren't retarded, there's going to be a townie lynched on the first day. We might as well random vote rather than not vote at all."
which suggests that he is happy with a completely random lynching on Day One (ie. he's either scum which is bad for us or he's a liability in general as town which is bad for us).

Oh, the great quandaries of Mafia!
Normally a townie is lynched on the first day, except in the case of this mafia, where I can find a couple people worthy to lynch. The point is, even if they are townie, and get lynched, it won't secure the win for the mafia, but it will check off another name on our list of suspicious people. Eventually I may come up with such a list, but for now I will see what goes on next.

I did a quick reread, and I'm not happy with how Bookitty jumped on egruntz for mentioning the term "No Lynch". egruntz wasn't really pushing for one, he just mentioned it. It seems like the sort of thing scum would do on day one: push for a mislynch on someone for nothing at all, really. So therefore,

Surely.
Ah my bad. That's a messed up quotation, I guessed I musta somehow quoted you twice and left that one word undeleted somehow. My response was simply the question. I can totally see how you drew that conclusion now. I was really pissed at what i saw as being attacked for an argument that wasn't mine. My defence of egruntz was not based on agreeing with him, but on not believing him to be scum trying to gain an advantage by forwarding the ideas he was.

I
don't
believe the only reason to vote is to lynch. I never have. Though without the ultimate threat of lynch behind it, a 'pressure' vote is pretty worthless. (I've been attacked from both sides on this in the past- from the 'there are reasons to vote other than to lynch' and the 'claiming not to desire the lynch of someone you're voting is fundamentally dishonest' crowds. Contra to your argument above, I've seen significant support for both amongst MS vets, but that's by the by).

These questions open to anyone:

Do you feel egruntz' comments more reflect on his inexperience on this particular site, or on his probable alignment?

@Disciple Slayer: Why were you voting for The Fonz, when your later post and vote argues that you agreed with his reasoning?
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
