OK so anyone want to guess what the heck the teams are for? Fives not a lynchable majority so I don't really know what purpose they could serve.

The case is divided up into two stages - "brainstorming" and "final diagnostic", with a "twist" between the two that "will affect voting mechanics, give you role abilities, or they may just be for the flavor" (according to page 1). I'd assume we are in the "brainstorming" stage at the moment. Thus, the most likely effect of the teams is to somehow impact upon the twist.

The most obvious (not really the most likely, though) result would be that the team which does not lose a player gets more/all of the twist's benefits than the team from which the lynchee comes.

Originally I was going to abstain from using teams whatsoever in my analysis and ultimately judgment of others in this game. Yet I am seeing signs that others do not agree with this philosophy so forgive me if I find that getting a general consensus on whether teams should be an influence is a higher priority than using my vote to put "pressure" on someone.

I am uncomfortable with the feeling that two people of equal suspicion, held in the mind, will be unbalanced simply because their name is the same color on a list as yours. I was absent for the team-choosing portion but here are some of my general thoughts:

I believe how the two "team-leaders" stepped up to rally players was an action borne of their personalities and are independent of whether they're town or scum. Pooky's nature is to lead a group of people (see Battle Royale) in courses of action. Vollkan is an excellent analyzer of behavior in both town and scum roles.

I have some problems with armix in his vacillation of whether or not he wanted to bandwagon me. I don't understand if it was because we were in "random voting" (rephrased as OMG LIKE LETZ GO CRAZY W/VOTING WHILE WE STILL CAN) or how he actually is.

I have some problems with Dean Harper only because page three is mostly full of off-topic junk from him. However, it would be hypocritical for me to criticize this short-run behavior from him when I myself don't agree with the logic behind his vote for me for apparently exhibiting behavior when I actually wasn't here/aware of being selected for this game.

I have some problems with Adel because of team-based bandwagoning. I'm not sure if my personal sentiments effect a universal flaw/scumtell/whatever because I know myself to currently:

A. not agree with team-based voting
B. not a member of those who think vote-hopping without merit to bandwagon is effective

I meta based upon one game is crap. A one-game meta read of me could demonstrate that I claim doctor on day 1's, and then claim that I fakeclaimed during twilight of day 1's, when I really am a doctor.

Why would the first group be more likely to contain scum? Strength in numbers -- they would be the group more likely to pay attention to the rules and knew immediately they could team up.

I don't quite follow your line of reasoning here. I appreciate your description of me, but how is related, as you imply it is, to me seeking to "rally players"?

I'm not calling TG town based on that one thing, but I am saying that it's not a valid scumtell from him - certainly not valid enough to warrant two votes.

A query: which of the teams would you call the "first" based on this theory? Pooky certainly volunteered to lead first, but vollkan's team filled more quickly at the beginning of the game. I know both team leaders to be competent players, so I just chose the team with least members, which was when the numbers evened up at 3 apiece. If scum were more motivated to join teams early, then I'd argue that it would be
