One way mason

After some recent talk about the uses/non-uses of confirmed/non-confirmed masons, I was thinking about this role:

You are a

One way mason

:

You know player X is innocent. Player X, however, has no information at all about you on his/her PM.

Player X is a pro-town player randomly chosen.


I see it as a small information role. This role is completely non-confirmable (scum know who are the innocents), but it could change the strategy of the player a little, who can try to keep his "mason" alive.

What do you say? Good for a mini?

It's like a one-shot cop which had its target picked randomly in the pre-game. So, it can't possibly be overpowered and seems like a nice boost to an otherwise vanilla townie role.

How many townies should be one way masons in order for the setup to be balanced?

Is 3 goons, 7 townies, 2 real masons broken? If not, then probably 3 as the mafia can fake claim one-way mason legitimately and screw with ppl.

Edit: Second thought, 3 is a lot as the masons themselves would be confirmed more or less. 2 seems better, but then again IDK. I really want to say 1.5.

Given that 3 goon, 3 true masons, 5 townies seems to be balanced (based off of multiple plays of Friends and Enemies type set ups), 3 goons, 3 one way masons, and 5 townies has to be close to balanced.

I wonder if a hypomason plan would be a good idea here.

which works, unlike hypocop, because once the information is out there the unimason has shot his wad and is just a normal townie.

Yeah, pure hypocop is a bad stratagy. It works well for certain other roles though.

I called it the stalker last time I used it too - except the player thought they were a Lover (not a conventional Lover, obviously).
