I'm gonna delve a little bit into Maf Philosophy here for a sec re: Dragons saying "I know this doesn't look good, but..."

Is this something scum mostly say, or is it pretty even-stevens? I'm asking bc I've seen this said before, and I don't know why folks say it. If you're town and you thought someone was scum and you built a case, why would it look bad if you're wrong?

I am personally not a linguistic stuff like that. In my experience it doesn't usually help me find baddies personally.

I think that most people (myself included) are just incredibly imprecise and uncareful with how we speak and the words we use, so I think 9 times out of 10 when I hear a linguistic argument like that it just ends up being a townie who said something dumb.

As for that specific phrase idk really what the percentages are? I'm pretty sure I've seen it from both alignments.

I agree with your like general thought process though. I don't feel like people should suspect me if I had legitimate reasons to think someone is scum and ended up being wrong, town is wrong a lot in this game.

That's helpful to me, I think you're right that it's not helpful to get hung up on linguistics (I was recently in a game where someone held me over the coals for not saying 'X is NAI' and not 'I THINK X is NAI' so I should really know better lol). I'm gonna focus on, 'WHY does Dragon think things look bad for them?' and go re-read their cases.

I too find the NK kind of weird from the scum tbh.

Rolecop isn't even that powerful a role generally and as we can see one of their roles even has the potential to get falsely cleared by it.

This is a great question! I wish I could ask Elements for the thought process but I know they can't answer lol. They must have erroneously thought they were safe from EFN, which is interesting bc the last thing EFN does is vote Elements. I can't wait to find out what the reasoning was.

Speaking of claims...this is my first experience seeing a townperson false claim. Has anybody seen a time where thats a good thing to do? Bc (no offense HT!) it was sort of disastrous for town in this one.

I think the vig was the clear nightkill and scum probably outthought themselves.

I think its usually wrong to fake claim as town, but theres like niche scenarios where it can be good. I'm not sure this is one of them though.
