ThisWhile I somewhat agree here E2 is not E1 or hammer. Pressure is fine and there is always a point to everything. I also think RVS was long done by the time TTTT made his vote.

I'm not gonna argue about RVS semantics for a second game in a row. My definition of RVS means we will be in RVS for most of day 1.

I thought the same thing when I first came on this site, but then I saw it happen more times than I thought it should and I became somewhat of a believer. I have yet to use it myself, but I also don’t 100% disregard it.

In 2091 your tone was pleasant. And you only became frustrated or agitated when it was genuinely warranted. I felt from your first 10 or so posts that you were town and I would have probably said so if I was in that game. This game so far what I get from your tone is agitation, annoyance, and irritation. I haven't seen a reason for this. It's pretty much the same playerlist as last game so it's not like you hate the players. I'm assuming it's because of a change in alignment from last game. Subtle changes in a person's psychology when playing as scum or and then as town is a scientific reality. I think this is what's happening here. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am in this instance.

I'm playing similarly to how I was game 1 except now I have to deal with you, if I sound annoyed and irritated its because of you.

Again, they're not random or meaningless. It's also not foolproof, so I would never base my read 100% on it, but I also would not totally disregard because as has already been shown, it does have some bearing statistically. Just because you don't like it or think it's dumb doesn't mean isn't real.

There were three people at E-3. Aspho, Corn and you. Aspho is V/LA for the next two days.
TTTT had the choice of putting either Aspho or you at E-2, he choose Aspho. He's either a townie looking to create discussion and advance the game or a maf trying to look like he's doing that.
If the goal is to create discussion, then why not vote you instead of someone who isn't here?

I played with Aspho, Corn and Abdbla. I'm too tired by Italiano to go reread it and compare it to this game so off the top of my head.

Was town. Hasn't said much this game so can't comment.

Corn:

Was maf. I figured him out because he kept using faulty logic and uncharitable interpretations of other people's post. He doesn't seem to be doing that this game so far.

Abdbla:

Was maf. Got in an altercation with me similar to the one I had with Italiano this game where he kept using insanely stupid arguments. Has been less active than in the first game but that could be because of easter. His playstyle doesn't seem to have changed much but I don't think its alignment indicative so far.

Last game Corn was maf and I was doctor. I had a scumread on him from the beginning of the game, I hammered his partner day 1 and I healed his kill target night 1 and the game ended on day 2. So maybe he's town and he thinks I'm smarter than I actually am and thus worth defending or he's maf and he's trying to buddy me up because of that or simply that he's a sensible townie arguing against bad arguments, bad arguments that have mostly been targeted at me.

Null. I don't like his arrogance but that's not alignment indicative. His playstyle so far has been asking others to talk, randomly voting people and throwing wild accusations but he never shared his thoughts, Its as if he wants to solve the game by himself while leaving town in the dark because we're too stupid for him. Also, 213 is so cringy

Abdbla:

Null. Lurky, a lot less active than last game where he was maf.

Aspho:

Null. I don't like her OMGUS votes but I sympathize with her frustration in this game. Has brought up a lot of good points which I like.

Furtive:

Lean town. Active and with mostly well reasoned takes. Isn't afraid to disagree with people. Has been a bit too reactive in his playstyle, commenting on new happenings more so than actively trying to advance the game.

Bigterp:

Lean town. Very active, has good takes, asks good questions and tries to advance the game. No complaints.

Corn:

Lean town. Same as furtive But since I can compare his playstyle to that of our last game where he was maf I'm more confident in my read on him.

Are you asking for myself or Italiano to address this? I will anyway. Yeah, it might be a bit of a stretch, but Take was reacting to something (TTTT's vote) WAY more than needed, especially given the fact that Take was saying the vote was pointless. If Take has skin in the game (Aspho is his scum partner) it's the only reason I can think of as to why Take kept bringing up TTTT's "pointless" vote. Since then, however, Take has admitted that he is reading TTTT scummy and finds him annoying. So could certainly be more to it that my thoughts there and simply just the "bickering" we've been plagued with early on this game.

I'd like to point out that the only reason this happened is because Italiano kept asking me to explain why I didn't like TTTT's vote on V/LA Aspho multiple times starting from 111. This is one of the main reasons why i got so frustrated with him actually.

I originally saw the tell as an "enthusiastic greeting" but URAP says it's "greets the game" and I've come around to his way of thinking on this, and the data I pulled is based on his definition of a player giving a generic greeting to the entire game, rather than just a greeting to specific players.

For Newbie games 1900-1923 I found the following:
26 out of 100 Newbtown players greeted the game in their opening post (26%).
20 of 35 Newbscum players greeted the game in their opening post (57.1%).

This is how the "tell" is defined.

When reading that reply from T02 I noted that 102 was clearly not an indication that Italiano was using the tell, simply a question as to mine and TTTT (presumably as the two other SEs) thoughts on the continued relevancy of the newbscum greeting tell

And that's what I've been arguing against the entire game. Like I said multiple times before, I never once feared that "tell" may be used against me. I'm against giving any credence to that "tell".

There are two reasons why I voted of Abdbla

1. In my opinion, the greeting tell is a myth at best and an anti-town tool to obfuscate and derail discussion at worse and I think the only reason this tell is a thing is due to the selective memory of some veterans(150 165) this isn't because they are dumb(at least in TTTT's case) its because its easy to start seeing tells where there are none when you've played a lot of games. Abdbla is a newbie however and I find it weird that he got swayed by such an outlandish theory so easily, especially since he showed he has a good head on his shoulders multiple times thoughout the two games I palyed with him so of the three(two unconfirmed) people that gave credence to the greeting tell theory, I think Abdbla is the most likely one to be using it for anti-town goals.

2. Like I alluded to in 123, last game's day 1 ended with a confrontation between me and Abdbla(I don't know how to link posts from other threads) where he went from using worse and worse arguments and that ended with him eliminated and flipping maf so I read bad arguments from Abdbla as scummier than usual.

You point to TTTT as proof that I was toxic but when you read the thread, I only became agressive with him after he made these shitty posts 199 213 because two people disagreed with him on the greeting "tell".
