It is very unfortunate that Roden legitimately had a role that was just names smashed together, and that created the appearance of a scumslip, but calling that out doesn't make A50 scum.

Nope, nuh uh. I refuse to believe that the fervor that A50 pushed Roden with comes from scum on what many of us saw after it was pointed out. I think Roden exacerbated the issue by not considering that town would think they made a slip and instead made it more of a 1v1 than placate the issue. I thought for sure that Roden was flipping scum because of that move alone.

Roden, if I'm interpreting your claim correctly, that's a Vengeful Gunsmith, which... Is entirely useless.

Radical Rat in the first quote extrapolates that they're well aware of what Roden's claim mean and the implications with it. "Entirely useless" seems to imply they have a pretty good idea on what the role is. Then right AFTER After50's post:

That's what I thought it was, but I strongly disagree with the useless part. If he is (a) Town, (b) Vengeful then no scum is going to hammer him now. If he is a GS Scum want him dead ASAP. So, while we may not get useful results from him he can be the Mafia's problem for the night and then we see.

Almost has already gave out the response that they confused "Vengeful" with "Supersaint", which is the role that leads to the person hammering getting offed. So, two people at relatively the same time somehow made the exact same "mistake", despite Rat being comfortable enough to call the role claim "a bluff".

So, either we can assume this is town who just isn't paying attention or mafia grabbing onto any reasoning at their feet to bring the lynch to it's juicy conclusion. I'm inclined to go with the latter. I've had an uncomfortable feeling about RadicalRat for quite a while, so take that for what it's worth. Rather get this than Cat for now.

Roden was just someone who wasn't worth it to fight this huge uphill battle for, despite my instinct on possible townie for them even when I threatened to hammer them.

Except Rodent's push has nothing to do with if a legitimate Vengeful would claim there or not. There was no mention "Well, if they were Vengeful they would allow themselves to be lynched". Not sure what led you to interpret their push like that.

Which is pretty much the first line of the Vengeful article on the wiki. Considering how certain Radical was that the role was "useless" and that it was a "complete bluff", I find it hard to believe that they had the

same exact

misinterpretation by coincidence when Almost regarded them "Supersaint" That doesn't strike you as incredibly convenient? Radical decided to put Roden at L-1 and then doubled down afterwords with anything they could find to get the lynch secured.

I did not misunderstand Vengeful like A50 did, when I said scum wasn't likely to hammer a Town Vengeful, I meant that they would probably prefer to nightkill them rather than potentially get killed for eliminating them.

Also, at the time I called it useless, that was because I was working under the belief that Gunsmith would retain its investigative properties, rather than be converted to a vig invention, and a posthumous investigation is indeed quite useless. At the time that I called it as a bluff, Roden had made clear that it was not an investigative, and did have kill potential.
