it looks like the theme was used a long time ago but seemed limited to european mythology.
(maybe i can try go for a game themed around legendary creatures from all over the world)
Against my better judgement, I find myself musing about potentially modding again.
Thoughts about a Sonic theme game? Gimmick would be a secondary objective in gathering Chaos Emeralds, which would probably function as inventions on their own, and if a single player were to gather all of them do something extra special. Targeting a Mini, not sure on exact player count.
I'd put more effort into a workable design if there's interest.
Maybe the real Mafia was the friends we made along the way

Never heard of it, but if it has dragons, well I am down for having a nice snack!
every character in the series is a dragon (except for the occasional human).
That could be interesting, but I don't see myself playing this kind of game.

random other idea.
would anybody be interested a game themed around legendary & mythological creatures in general (dragons, kraken, phoenix, etc.)?
This theming also doesn't really vibe with me.

That sounds cool. I'd like to see this developed a bit further.
two members of the town will be besties and be informed of each other's identities at the start of the game
each player may propose a pairing of two other players during the pairing phase
a pairing will form if both of those players accept the proposal
there will be an unlimited amount of dance phases, with each ending upon a pair leaving the dance
there will be no intermission but a member of the scum may at any point during the dance phase publicly guess who the two besties are (including guessing deceased players)
if the scum manage to guess the besties, they will instantly win. otherwise, normal wincons apply.
What about a "Lite Cultafia" setup, with 2 Cultafia who can recruit one town player on night 1, and have a normal nightkill on all other nights? Would anyone be interested in playing something like this?
Just had an idea and i kinda wonder if it's even worth trying to put it into practice, owner's market where people recruit to alignements
basically at the start of the game, there are a few people chosen to be market owners, their job would be to "bid" on the other players in an auction to recruit them to their team
the most feasable and unexploitable way to generate it i think is you take someone to be outside of the game and in charge of bidding for town, and if we take like a 17p size, you assign like 10 players as town, 1 as scum, and the scum and the townie outside of the game have a 1v1 auction for the remaining 6 players (this all happens privately ofc)
additionally you could also make it so the scum drafting against the townie is also someone outside the game but i think it would be more interesting if the drafting scum was actually *in* the game
How is the initial assignment done? And what is the motive of the outside-the-game person in drafting?
Also I have had for a while a really horrible idea for a game where after it fills up but before alignments are distributed you have all the players submit to the mod their preference of 2 scum partners, and if 3 people choose each other they become the scum team, or if no 3 players choose each other but two players choose each other and the same third player they become the scum team, etc. I didn't do anything with that idea because it's terrible.
