I think that SP did a great job modding, and enjoyed the game immensely.

If I'm not overloaded and I don't decide to review the game, I will almost definitely be in the next one.

And VP/Kairyuu, what in my behavior was scummy? I often get people to think I act suspicious when I'm actually town, so any advice to prevent that in the future would be welcome!

Having all the VTs with the same (hidden) flavour is something you should be wary for in the future.

Does sibling mean you die when they die (or the day after)? Cause if so the balloon-animal maker should have been playing their role like a jester. I think the setup was as a result biased against scum, although ironically Empking was lynched anyway.

Scum would have found it challenging to win this setup in a 2/8 split anyway, let alone with one being caught out day one due to wincon and the other being a sibling.

Haha, well I go to sleep and the game is over. Thanks SilverPhoenix for a great game. It was a lot of fun and the theme was pretty cool I thought. It's sort of unfortunate that Chief got a bad shake on D1 like that, but I think the town were pretty thorough thinkers as well. I was definitely glad not to be scum in this game.

@ Weyouns--I don't know really. I guess it was just your lack of participation early on and I didn't see a lot of active scumhunting from you. Like I said though, I can understand that with you being in that War in Heaven game. It could just be a playstyle thing. I tend to go after people if they play really conservatively because it always seems to me like they are trying to avoid a lynch.

@WLC: To be honest, I didn't find you hugely scummy, but when my main target from D1 and D2 ceased to be an option, I figured that I had a solid town read on VP, and just latched onto his case. The fact that you kept popping in only when you were questioned didn't help though, since all three times I've seen players like that before this game they have been scum. Also, the hesitance to allow Grimmy to block you when shooting someone was a statistically poor move anyway was somewhat disconcerting.

We didn't break the game, but we came close enough to zero in on the last scum, so I don't regret the massclaim one bit (although obviously my points in-game about them were honestly given).

I seriously considered claiming sibling and asking to be lynched, but I didn't, for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, I thought I could get myself nightkilled, which I did.

Secondly, I read the flavour at the beginning of the game, saw the warning of bastard moddery, and decided I didn't want to risk it. My Role PM did not outright state that I would die if my sibling died, nor did it state that he would die if I died. So I wasn't sure if I wanted to risk getting myself lynched.

Furthermore, I wasn't certain that puppeteer's apprentice would end up being scum if this was a bastard mod game. Two dead townies would have made this extremely ugly.

I decided that I would claim either day 2 if we lynched town or day 3 if we lynched scum.

Yeah, should have explicitly backed you on the Jester thing. I just didn't want to mention the possibility of a Jester because that always somehow derails scumhunting because you get too paranoid.

Also, somehow I didn't think the lynch of DDD wouldn't go that quick. I thought he needed 6 votes, but that was my mistake. I was a bit confused when the actual vote count showed 6 at a certain point, when there were only 5 on the wagon (don't know if Kai already used his extra vote at that point). I don't really like Jesters in a game, but in a Carnival game it is almost a given I suppose.

And I don't know if it was OMGUS or something, but for some reason I just couldn't get myself to trust Kairyuu, even though he proved himself. In the end I thought he was somekind of Magician, or Illusionist, who could influence the vote count.

Luckily the game ended, because I don't know if I'd have used my Vig-shot this night. I was really thinking of using it on either Nocmen or Kairyuu.

That makes me sad, and would have ended the game if there were 3 scum.

@all: I just realized something, this is the first Non-newbie game I've been in where I wasn't NKed before endgame (I've never been lynched as town, and never lost a game I made it to endgame in).

I helped review this interesting set up and was excited to read along. Really a shame that Chief botched day 1 so badly. The scumm really had no chance after losing half their team day 1.

I think you did things pretty well, but yea, I think you may have done the PMs wrong. The fact that two other townies had Vendor roles that sounded a lot like mine made me almost feel certain they were town, unless you had given the scum a fake claim.

I was surprised the town believed these claims so readily. This combined with Chief's blunder makes me think some sort of fake claims might have made a big difference in this game. Sorry I overlooked that on review

Well, the thing shaft.ed was that the claims fit with what people's role PMs said, so when people started saying things about needed to eliminate the puppeteers and other factions it became pretty obvious that they were taking info from the flavour text and not their role pms.

Thanks for reviewing the game too. It was still very fun even thought the scum basically lost on D1.

Yeah, it definitely won't be in a week. Probably the first week in May after all of my college stuff is done for the year.
