There's the most pro-town player in the game. :P

A rough graph, from posts in isolation.

This, itself, is long already, so I'll post it now.

Mastin, why did you chose to do this post length analysis? Are you drawing any conclusions from it? Have you looked at the contet of the posts? What stands out at you?

Length of a post contributes to content. The number of posts will normally take away content. Votes and points raised in a post contribute to content.

It's all a very rough graph, just my estimation.

What I'm doing is figuring out who is contributing what level, and if their contribution matches to what they do as a pro-town player. If I find an inconsistency, then that's a fair sign they're scum.

--Alternative Tactic--
I'll be looking at who has been voted, fos'd, and unvoted, as well as who has voted/unvoted/fos'd who, next. This won't be particularly useful right now, per se, but it will be a valuable asset later in the game when we actually have bodies to go off of, and their alignments.

After that, I'll do things my old fashioned way, by looking at every post in the game, piece by piece, dissecting it, and using what I know thusfar to draw conclusions from it.

And after that, obviously, I'll be doing rather the read on AceMarksman.

All this put together will take a while, and might seem meaningless, but if we catch scum because of it, I will have done my job.

Zaz has either been unnoticed, or incredibly pro-town in the eyes of most.
The only vote/FoS on Zaz was in the RVS, by ZEE's predecessor's predecessor. Zee removed it almost immediately.

Hasn't really received any sort of real attention. I find it interesting.

No, quoting you shows nothing besides that I read along. Catching up is analysing what I have missed and answering open questions.

In post 195 ZazieR wrote:(...) Luna, who do you suspect?
Overview here;

AceMarksman
says in post 213 he has suspected Darox all along, but the only thing he has to substantiate that is an IGMEOY on Darox in post 40. He has been on Darox's case as much as on semioldguy's. Not particularly convincing and not very smart to use that as argument.

Post 233 of Tarhalindur is a good observation;
Tarhalindur wrote: The reason you stated for you vote when you voted Darox was that he failed to answer a question; furthermore, you said in that post that you would unvote Darox if he answered your question: (...)

I have difficulty seeing how this is consistent with VOTING Darox because you think he's scum. (...) Because your stated reason for voting was to force Darox to answer a question, NOT because you thought he was scum (it may have been A reason, but it was not the STATED reason).
FoS: AceMarksman

Darox
spouts a lot of ad hominem, but no inconsistency as far as I can see in isolation.

Can't tell
Empking
from the two lines max. in any given post that are directed at multiple people. Would like him to be more argumentative and substantial.

As Tarhalindur said in 203, nothing from
Farside22
but defense. She promised to post more, but so far I don't see anything that leads me to believe that she is interested in Scum hunting.

Kabenon007/Mastin
: Need more time and posts to assess his play.

LeakingGoofball
has been posting enough to not seep through the cracks and finally posted content in his/her/its last post. Would be nice if the latter continued and the earlier stopped.

semioldguy
must be content with where his vote is (on AceMarksman) since his suggested flavour claim, since he is not actively hunting. Something I am watching him for.

Tarhalindur
and
ZazieR
seem to be the only ones genuinely questioning and hunting.

But...
In post 236 Tarhalindur wrote:
ZazieR wrote: What's your reason for not mentioning my post, while I also used 'seem'?

Strange that you only attack Ace for 'backtracking', but not me or Farside for her post as I already said. Why's that?

MFoS: Tarhalindur

ZEEnon
I am sad to see go, since I have not learnt anything on him besides that he dislikes policy lynches and can't or won't explain his eyebrows raising vote on AceMarksman. Just when you think you might have spotted Scum, he is replaced out ! No fair.

It's not fair, because one can not reasonably expect the replacement to say anything about his predecessor's play with certainty. It will for them just as much of a guess as it is for us. Hence unresolved question.

And, why, oh why, didn't I notice you being the last in my pull-down menu, zwetschenwasser ? Work is calling, but I will write about you too, later on.

Finished total reads on Zwet and Mastin ( :P ).

Zwet: Difficult to read (being scum on only a few occasions doesn't help) but not impossible, there's a few tells there. (Zwet's commented himself - can't remember if it was here or in another game - that his average post length is INVERSELY proportional to his likelihood of being scum, and AFAICT he's not lying about that. Beware of meta subversion, however.)

There's one other pretty good tell that Zwet shows, but I'm not sure whether or not I can call it yet. I'm watching. (And I'll consider identifying what that tell is when I'm confident that I can call its presence or absence.)

Mastin: Extremely verbose, extremely analytical regardless of alignment. Has a supertell that is very similar to ZazieR's - I want to see some major posts out of him soon, so that I can get a solid read. (I'm not going to tell you what it is now, of course - I'm not going to allow meta subversion before I have a good read.)

Now, where the hell did everyone go?

I think that "obfuscating" would be a better choice of words than "misleading", but that's a minor nitpick. Yes, I'm trying to hide my actual meaning. That's kinda the POINT - I'm hiding something and being very open about it: specifically, I'm unwilling to reveal my thoughts on Zazie's post at this time, because bringing it up now would ruin its potential effectiveness.

I WILL explain later, as I promised in that post. I don't want to see Day 1 ended before I do.

(If you want meta, check my play in Day 4 of Medieval, where I sat on a good deal on information until I was confident that I had extracted as much supporting information as possible.)

No need, hun. Here you go;

zwetschenwasser
is very passive. He is responsive and votes based on argumentation of others, but there is no active inquisitiveness from him.

Tarhalindur wrote: I think that "obfuscating" would be a better choice of words than "misleading", but that's a minor nitpick. Yes, I'm trying to hide my actual meaning. Obfuscating is indeed a better word than misleading, couldn't think of it at the time (non-native speaker and all that).

But that is not what irked me. As I said in my quote (or was trying to say);
LunaLouise wrote:

The way you wrote your reply to ZazieR you made it sound like you noticed her way of writing before she brought it up and you found it to be wishy-washy all along;
Tarhalindur wrote:

Past tense. Something that had already happened.

I gave you the MFos because I don't see why you have to be as obfuscating as you were. The way you wrote that suggests that you did feel it wasn't the time to bring it up. Because if it was simply a case of not finding it nearly as wishy-washy as AceMarksman's post, you probably just would have said that. Or there is a third reason ?

Why are you being more covert than you need to be ? Why are you not only making us guess at what you are thinking, but also making us guess at why you are hiding things ? Not good in my opinion.

I'm reading everything from the start. I stopped at the top of page 6 right now.

LGB post 19: I really didn't see the indecisive sign they were talking about in this post.
zwet: post 21 comes across as a joke but seems OMGUS vote as well.
Acemarks post 28: jokes about zwet and emp (where is tar complaining about too many jokes about this person?)
darox post 36 very well written. looks for sign's early on Ace in regards to his vote and comments. Darox did you think he was joking or do you think it should have been asked if he was serious about his comments?
Ace post 40 clearly misrep's Darox post here:
Darox wrote:
Now I ask you again, what is stopping you from using your vote to remove this scum

Oh? This sounds like you wish for them to be removed from this game. Didn't you just chastize me for that?

Darox was talking about voting for you not emp or zwet.

LGB post 41: really just now when like 4 people already said something about it? This looks like a post just to post to me.

zwet post 50: if the mod misspelled your name then how does and a player confirmed the misspell then how does that not change anything?

LGB post 58: I still feel this post makes no sense. No sign's of scum hunting. Votes for the anti-town player. meh

LGB post 81: while I agree with policy lynch of a certain anti-town player. Day 1 is meant for discussion to find scum. Not for quick lynches.

zee: post 93: looks at date of MS start. looks at comment. puts ic hat on: As a replacement you don't have random vote. most people come in as replacements and read before they vote. takes ic hat off.

tar: post 94: I can't look at this without being one-sided since it's about me. I am a player that does things different in every game as you stated yourself. Wether I joke too much, not talk enough, talk too much, scum hunt, aggressive, or crap hunt it's a null tell and you should know that.

tar post 99: why the focust on wording? isn't it the action or comments made by a player that tell more? How people react or comment about pressure that matter? I don't always see you looking at wording from people like this.

semiold post 112: bad idea.

ace post 122: I don't care for the following of darox on this page.

What I'm not seeing: anything really exciting from zazie, semiold, ace or LGB. Nothing really noted as far as scum hunting. Zazie is just asking question. Semiold is posting about the game but not looking at placers. Ace following and LGB is just posting to post as far as I can see.
I will finish this later today.
Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.

Past tense. Something that had already happened..[/quote]

Does that matter?
