I refuse to hammer myself, because I'm town, and I do not wish to lose this game. If either of the real scum, caf or phail, wishes to hammer, go for it.

I think that KoC is town and I can't possibly vote twice, so I'm in limbo still.

I have an idea, let's kick it up a notch.

Everyone seems to be moving sluggishly after losing so many townies these last few days. Are the townspeople finally beginning to question their violent tendencies?

Apparently not, because as dusk begins to set in the body of Knight of Cydonia is left to swing in the wind while the townspeople go check his house.

At first, nothing seems amiss, and the townspeople begin to despair, thinking that the Mafia has managed to evade capture once again, but then they find a note taped to his fridge. The note reads:

Day 2:

They've killed Isacc, which means they're getting closer to uncovering our cell. I must tread carefully, or they will kill me too. Even so, I shall avenge him by taking over this town in his stead.

Knight of Cydonia, Mafia Goon;

ChannelDelibird replaces madofphail effective immediately.

The Night deadline will be extended by 24-48 hours to give him and Lindisfarne time to get read up.

The Day dawns bright and early on those few surviving members of the town.

Fearing the worst, everyone crowded around Beyond_Birthday's house, since he was the only one who didn't show up that morning. Unfortunately for them, their fears were well founded. Beyond_Birthday was dead; killed in some unspeakable manner, possibly involving a toaster.

Hi all, I have read the thread once through but will probably do so again - typically, you two who are left with me are the ones I got the least thorough reads on. My gut from the first read is leaning towards Trumpet but I don't want to go on gut at this stage. I'll reread both of you individually, that might give me a bit more help.

Is Lindisfarne with us?

So my notes from my first read through, regarding caf and Trumpet/Lindis, are mostly focused on "looked town day 1" and "so...much...inactivity" respectively. I'm trying to decide to what, if any, extent Trumpet's disappearances were a tactic.

caf, was there a case on you around day 2ish? I seem to recall one. Can you remind me about it?

Also, caf, I'm a little surprised that there was no comment from you at the start of today. As the only player who isn't a new replacement, you have a unique position to really help focus the discussion today onto your suspicions. Do you have suspicions?

MafiaSSK had a case on me when he was alive, he said I was aggressive. There wasn't much more to it than that.

I've been reading through Dourgrim and KoC trying to get leads. It appears that neither of them was fond of bussing (Dour tunnelled on magnus, and Knight switched from Sera to SSK). Perhaps that sheds light on Knight's strange decision to suspect me and phail over Trumpet (see 529 and 548), despite the fact that Trumpet had voted for him and nobody had quickhammered, meaning that from Knight's fake-town perspective he should have 'known' Trumpet was scum.

On the other hand, perhaps Trumpet's eagerness for Knight to die is a point in his favour. phail's behaviour towards Knight is a lot more wishy-washy: his point 2 in post 512 seems quite reluctant for Knight to die, and he doesn't really suspect KoC until 546 (when the rest of us had already said we suspected him).

I'd say the scum-gauge is tipping about 70% towards phail at the start of today. It's quite a strange position to be in having to contend with two replacements though - eager to see what you two have to say.

Well, I've read twice and I am really struggling. I'm reading caf as slight town more because I don't see much in the way of poor logic than because I see a particular virtue, but the problem is that there's just been so little activity of any kind from Trumpet/Lindisfarne that it's hard to get any kind of contrasting read on him. I eagerly await the replacement.

Hello, there, Channel, caf. I'll be replacing Lind in just a few minutes. (Whenever the mod shoots me the role PM)

In the mean time, I'll be doing a little reading. :)

Oh, wow. My predecessor apparently never posted; I can't see an option to select viewing Lind's posts in iso to get a good read on what my predecessor was thinking. I'll have to do my predecessor's predecessor.
(I'm assuming it is Lind that I am replacing, as both Channel and caf are active.)

Heh. Trumpet looks better than I thought.
Good logic here,

And a solid reason for suspicion here.

Trumpet's post here seems to have good suspects in it, and Knight of Cydonia was defending Madofphail/Channel. If I had to guess right now as to who the last mafia is from what little Iso reading I've done thusfar, it'd definitely be Channel.

(Keep in mind that as Kai isn't online yet, I haven't gotten my role PM. Don't think that'll change anything; I have a clear town read on Trumpet and would be very shocked if I got a scum PM.)

Solid Logic, which held at least partially true so far (KoC flipped scum).

I see in This post that Mad was defending KoC, who flipped scum, and as I pointed out earlier, KoC was also defending Mad as well. In Lylo, one would expect scum to defend their partners because, well, it's lylo; if there's a mislynch, scum win.

Ah, so I'll be replacing a Vanilla. Fine by me. :D

This is also a good case and what I find interesting is that KoC went from defending madof to stating that he wants a Caf lynch (very definite possibility of a mislynch), and yet, Madof is second (which reeks of a weak bus to me).

Again, looking at my predecessor's post here, it would indicate definite bussing. And that would almost certainly implicate Madofphail/Channel as the last scum.

Trumpet's last post before V/LA claimed him I also happen to agree with; Channel is looking fairly bad in my eyes.

Caf's up next in my Iso-reads. (Then will be Phily-Madof-Channel-those who flipped scum [particularly KoC].) They're rather effective thusfar. It definitely doesn't get the whole message across, but does get rather the majority of it through.

A read shows many instances of solid logic as well. Definite town read. It's harder to point out individual points about it, but caf didn't like the Walnut wagon, was voting for Phily, went after KoC, and Trumpet's points about KoC's attitude suggests to me that caf isn't scum. I doubt reading Channel and predecessors will change this, but I have to be certain.

Interesting. Phily took FOREVER to remove his random vote on Walnut. (Who flipped town) He also was attacking B_B a good deal (who flipped town), and was dealing a great deal (such as This, although there are many more) with Magnus (who, also, flipped town).

Seeing a pattern?

He also seemed rather casual when answering Isaac, yet against those who flipped town, he seemed more serious. That's what a quick Iso-read tells me about him. Now for madof, who I presume was in the game for the longest of the three with that role.
