How is setup speculation a scumtell? I would consider it a null-tell - it's not that helpful, but it doesn't really "help" create mislynches or out PRs under most circumstances any more than it helps town decide how many chains of connection to look for. It's a personal choice that either side could use to their benefit, but town and scum have roughly equal motivation.

Also, I think that town benefits more from the name claims because I know that certain roles need to be able to target specific other roles. Presumably, scum does not know which town roles benefit most and therefore have little to no advantage in choosing targets as a result. That is why I was very emphatic not to roleclaim, only nameclaim

Not liking DP's "excuse" for a vote above - the vote seems to be made with a very weak reason, as if to justify a very-non-random vote. This seems like a way of avoiding making up a reason.

In my experience, scum are far more self-conscious about looking scummy than town. I'm not saying I've actually heard scum say an exact phrase of that, but it feels like a very self-conscious thing for him to have written - which IMO is more indicative of scum than town, though certainly not the most powerful tell in the world

Scum wouldn't say it out loud on purpose - that's why it's a slip. The line of thinking is a scummy way of thought, but the player didn't realize it betrayed scum motivation.
