Communication Breakdown

This game has a special mechanic:

Each player will post exclusively in 4 mod-provided “chat rooms” (QTs). All chat rooms will have 3 players in them. Each player will only be in one chat room with another player EXCEPT the mafia, who will have a private QT where they may converse during the day.
NOTE: All votes will be in the chat lobby – there is to be no other discussion in the chat lobby.

NOTES:

1. I highly suggest you get a quicktopic account and bookmark all QTs for the game. It will make life easier.
2. Please do not sign up if you cannot commit. Because this game will not work if there are replacements, I am requiring that everyone in the game be a player

Once upon a time, Calculus.

And in the land of Calculus, there is never peace. For it is Calculus.

Calculus will bring chaos upon us all. Calculus will ruin the world.

Calculus also happens to be the theme I chose for a complex game with unique mechanics!

In the (imaginary, of course) realm of Calculus...

A group of 3rd degree polynomial rose up to conquer.

And conquer they will, unless the 2nd degree polynomials can do something about it.

Will they reduce the rest to zero, or be derived out of existence themselves?

I have no damn clue, which is why we're playing this game!

If you don't have 3 months of site experience, 3 completed non-newbie games and at least 1 theme game under your belt, don't even ask. This setup is highly complex and I promise loads of awesome from it.

The details:

Alternate lynching system; players have multiple votes and vote on their choices of players to differentiate and integrate. Lynches are plurality only and days will always go to deadline; but each day will only be 7 RL days long so the game doesn't drag.

Now you ask, what the hell do "differentiate" and "integrate" mean?

General basics of Calculus:
When an equation is differentiated, its degree lowers by one.
When an equation is integrated, its degree raises by one.

This won't help you pass the BC Calc AP exam, but it's all you need to know for this game.

Every role in the game has different degrees, from 0th to 4th degree. The higher the degree number, the more powerful the role. It'll make a bit more sense once people see their role PMs, so don't ask too many questions yet since I haven't modified my ruleset for this game yet anyways <_<

Sort of. I guarantee that no player will take only one differentiation to kill at the start of D1, and you can't vote to differentiate the same player more than once per game day, so.
I don't want to reveal the formulas I'm using to determine the differentiation-lynch and integration-lynch thresholds, but I will say that Day 1 will have 3 differentiations and 2 integrations.
And players will have 2 differentiation votes and 1 integration vote on Day 1.

Communication Breakdown 2 – Hacking the Hackers

It was just another day on the new and improved hackchat.net when suddenly…

WARNING: Connection Lost

Looks like the site is being attacked by hackers! …again. Well, folks, we’re all hackers here too, shouldn’t be too hard to deal with them.

A hackchat.net mod shows up and quickly sets up some small chat rooms out of the main lobby, each holding 4 users (because us hackers have improved upon the site’s code so much that OUR mini chat rooms can hold FOUR people instead of a measly THREE, haha!)

The lobby is still messed up, and you can only vote to ban there, but since this is hackchat.net there’s no chance of anyone successfully hacking us, right?
