Jora/}|{opa (which do you prefer?), nothing can satisfy me. GIVE ME CONTENT

I'll ask another question, what experience do you guys have with Mafia? I've played quite a bit of real-life Mafia, I've participated in what would be a Small Themed game and I'm currently hosting a Small Themed game, both on another website.

Yay we started!

VOTE: Verydark

Depending on a cop for our scum is not a smart thing to do at all. Depending on night actions in general is something we don't want to do as a town. We have 7 people. We can put our brains together and find scum for sure.

No lynch is generally a bad idea in general. Especially really early during the day. We want to use our day to its fullest, which means getting as much information as possible, getting as many reads as possible, and doing our best to find 2-3 people that are scummy and we can lynch.

This is 100% what is on my mind right now.

Isa, I've played in about 6-10 mafia games on a different site. Played real-life mafia more than several times. Played Skype mafia with people here, people on another site, and played Aim Mafia with more than several people.

Okay, and to answer another question:

I've played three games of mafia, this being the fourth, with another game off-site.

A couple more questions.

1) Are you excited to be here?
2) What's your opinion of policy lynches?
3) Is there any future V/La you're anticipating during this game?
4) What's your favorite direction on a compass?

1) Relatively, new games are always exciting I suppose.
2) I dislike them. I think they prevent people from making decisions they can be held to later on, at least to some degree.
3) No, there shouldn't be, though I work six days a week so take from that what you will.
4) Always been a fan of North-west.

1) Of course, my first game and I'm looking forwards to it.
2) It really does just depend on the circumstances. In this game, probably not a good thing, but in others it could be.
3) No, especially not now I'm on holiday from school.
4) Uh, okay, um... never really thought about it. Probably Southwest.

2. Lynch all lurkers
3. Maybe in June. I'm not sure yet.

@Bulvious My understanding of a policy lynch is lynching a player who's bad play may hurt the town. Forgive me if that's not correct, but surely in some games it would be better to lynch a townie who plays badly and could hurt the town than to let them continue. In this game, however, where the majority of players (including me) are new to the game and bad play may be a result of inexperience lynching them may not necessarily be a good thing.

1) I'm happy to be playing a game on mafia scum, and since this is my first game here, I'm very excited!
2) Only policy lynch I would EVER want to go through is inactive/lurker lynch, and that's still rare. Any other policy lynches are garbage and shouldn't go through without a ton of evidence.
3) If this game goes into mid-july, then I'll be very inactive for marching band, but not replace-out worthy or anything.
4) South

@Otolia I agree with most of that, and thanks for the heads up on the V/LA, my question is - how far are you willing to go with "Lynch all lurkers" ?

@Greenealogist Partly true, it's also something done so that the deadline isn't met without a lynch. It's NEVER good to lynch a townie, however, and making it a policy to lynch bad town would be a horrifyingly bad decision.

@Bulvious Well, as I said, it is my first game so I'm still learning the ropes. I can see that lynching a townie is never a good thing, but...perhaps I should wait until I have more experience to pass judgement.

The "lynch all lurkers" policy is an extreme one, and must be used with caution. I don't consider active lurking as falling under that law because you can accuse someone of being active enough and not being helpful at the same time. If you can't spot it as a townie then the fault is on you and no one else. But the major problem is when you are questioning someone who is disappearing and comes back to say " Sorry, I am been busy, tomorrow I shall post" but never post any content. You could say it's also 'active lurking' but for me it falls under something else called disrespect. I guess I should adapt my policy to "lynch all flaker" but flaker are those who end up being replace ...

I hope not to have to apply this rule here but it's quite common in newbie games.

That said a lot without really answering my question, Otolia.

So it's an extreme cautious "Lynch all lurkers" policy that doesn't include active lurking but includes disrespect and it should be called "Lynch all flakers" but they're usually replaced.

So let me rephrase my question. Someone lurks today - we lynch them, and they turn up town. Someone lurks tomorrow - do we lynch them to, if so, and they turn up town, then do we lynch another lurker the next day if there is one?

It's not an extremely cautious one, but it should be used wisely, with caution.

I don't see why you are trying to build up a perfect scenario where everyone lurks. If that kind of situation ever happens, then the town will lose with or without my "lynch all lurker" policy. The town is as strong as its weakest member (said once a wise man) a lurker is a broken piece of the town.

Also don't go fishing for tells like this, it's quite pathetic.

Green, is there anyone that you find so scummy so far? Anyone that you want to pressure?

Honestly, I feel pretty ambivalent. You don't really have a valid reason, so it's hard to be offended.

I'm not sure exactly how one demonstrates their "value" or "loyalty", so we're kind of at an impasse, at least for now, until I soak up some more knowledge.
