Hiraki, this has to be AT LEAST the third game in a row I've seen you hunt after a person with a 2011 join date.
I think you're town, of course.
But honestly. Is "new player" synonymous with "scumclaim" for you?My academy.

The only one I remember is Tomie stating that Mastin and Muffinman are unlikely to be scum partners.

Agree with what? He has'nt given an explanation.
Pappums rat - 149 wrote: I am pretty sure hiplop is town, based on other games I have played/read with him.
What is Hiplop doing here that he is more likely to do as town?(or less likely to do as scum?)
Hiplop - 150 wrote: I can see the reaction fishing ways of it. Yeah
Okay..so do you think he is scum or not?
Hiraki - 157 wrote: dunno.
maybe you should look.
Do you haveanyreason?
Is it just me or does it seem like Mastin is simply throwing mud at the suspects in his list rather than trying to determine thier alingment?
As in he said twice 'does this look like a town comment to anyone' instead of explaining why they are scum for the comments. He is switching the burden of proof to explaining why they are'nt scum when he should be explaining why they are scum."And before anyone bitches about me highlighting PoD's 437 when I replaced in and called everyone on my wagon communists, I remind you that communism is not alignment-indicative" - Belisarius

When hiplop is scum, he tends to put up larger posts with a lot of quotes in them to make it seem like he has more to say than he actually does. In the games that he is town, he is more likely to give one-liners and not really back up his arguments well (like he is doing now).¯\_(ツ)_/¯-

PranaDevil wrote:And here... GreyIce is quite obviously pointing out that meta is shit, and shouldn't be used. Because people who don't really pay attention to meta wont notice things anyway, and likely aren't even worrying about playing the same way every time. However, people who ARE thinking about meta would also be able to change up how they place to match a town meta every time anyway. Thus, following meta leads to mislynching town more often than it leads to lynching scum. Which is a fair point to make. Thus, meta is pointless to follow.
Plus, some people's meta changes based on role. You wouldn't expect someone with a VT role this game to play exactly the same if they have a cop role in the next one. Thus, while they're both town roles, they're different roles entirely. So if you've played with someone for 4 games with them as a VT, and suddenly they're playing differently, you lynch them based on meta, only to find you've just offed the town cop.
Also, it's the worst form of confirmation bias. People read a player, and think 'he's probably scum, lemme check meta.' Then they go read a random town game and a random scum game, and decide that he's doing X and Y, which he did in the scum game, and isn't doing Z which he did in the town game.
Basically, I'm just going to lynch anyone who tries to use meta as their entire argument, or who argues they're town because of meta.ShowThat which is done out of love always takes place beyond good and evil

Maxous, I have to echo Mastin's comment regarding NY131. Were you paying attention during it? This is how Mastin operates early game when he's in the uninformed majority. He throws around a lot of shit based on partial reads and hunches, and he sees what sticks. Shit stuck to Tomie. Hard. Same with Edmund, though to a lesser degree (I'm not sold on Ed yet).
It's far from foolproof, but it shakes the bushes and gives us reactions and connections to work with.
It's also a MastinTown hallmark."Cry havoc, and let slip the wombat of war!"

WHOA. I just ISO'd GreyICE, to see if there was a question or challenge I missed, and GI has almost NOTHING but fluff. Check it yourself. GI rises to #2 after Tomie, especially as I think that vote above is a joke, and we're well past RVS.
This is not the nose-to-the-grindstone hardworking Town-GI that nailed my ass in 1156, nor the frantic GI we hard to work hard to deceive in TWBB. More I think on this the bigger the scumread."Cry havoc, and let slip the wombat of war!"

GreyICE's 'logic': People using meta are scum. (Or if not scum, policy lynches.) You used meta to clear me. (Faulty, by the way, since I picked up the tactic from Nacho when we were scum in Outdoorsmen Mafia 2. ) Therefore, you're scum. (Or if not scum, at least voteworthy.)
This is a fair assessment, no?My academy.

Shit stuck to Tomie = Tomie's reactions are far too defensive, awkward, and inconsistent. It's hard to point out a specific example when you're basing a judgment on apattern.
Also, utilizing meta assessments is PART of effective scumhunting, so GI's signature is myopic bullshit."Cry havoc, and let slip the wombat of war!"

While yes, it is an odd trend, it is not a trend that I go for as scum or town.
Do you not see what's scummy with hiplop?
