FLAVORCSL and Nero Cain fought out of frustration. As they fought, the rest of the Kombatants stood back and watched intently.

After some broken bones, lacerations, close calls with the lava and body blows, both fighters seemed worn down and barely had any strength. Nero Cain, however, managed to push CSL down next to the river of lava. His hair caught on fire and he managed to put it out, but it served as just enough of a distraction to finish CSL off.

Nero pushed him out into the lava. His head dunked underneath, and he brought it up immediately, showcasing burnt and flaky skin. His screams echoed off of the cavern walls, but Nero Cain kicked his head down once more into the lava, lighting his body on fire and extinguishing his life.

As the fight finished, a portal opened. Since there was no way off of the island of sorrow, they had no choice but to walk through it.

Nearby, CSL's body dropped the sword he was holding. His body slipped into the river of lava and disintegrated. A life-long journey of redemption has finally come to an end.

FLAVORAs the portal dispersed people, it was clear that the portal wasn't linear...it dispersed people all around the place. Namely, New York City in Earthrealm.

Kung Lao was the first through the portal. He had been dispersed in the Bronx, in a decrepit part of town. As he walked through the eerie streets, a person blocked his path.

"...so, it's you. My ancestors wouldn't like it very much if you kept on living."

The person just sneered back at him. "Your ancestors were nothing but fools. Now come here and accept your timely death."

Kung Lao ran toward the person, but the person was just too overwhelmingly powerful. After a counterattack, Kung Lao laid bleeding on the ground.

"...what do you want from us?"

The person laughed and shook their head. "You should know by now that at this point...it's really just for the thrill."

The person picked Kung Lao up, summoned a bed of spikes, and threw him into it, piercing vital organs. Kung Lao was killed almost instantly.

Kano wasn't too far behind coming in through the portal. He had enjoyed his time over the past few days, watching others get into fights, feeling the rush of adrenaline with each kill. He materialized in Central Park, where a figure waited for him.

"Haha...aye, so another one'a ya mates want to have a go at it, ey? Well, this assassination is on tha house. No chahge."

The figure just shook their head, rushed toward Kano and massacred him. In his daze, Kano stumbled backwards against a tree. "You ain't neva gonna kill off tha Black Dragon, ya bloody idiot. Buggah off."

The figure just shrugged, and tossed shuriken after shuriken towards Kano, piercing him in multiple places.

Everyone else ended up meeting in the Subway area. A few were thrown there by the portal, but one by one, many of the Kombatants showed up. A sea of spectators watched on as frustrations flared up at the two Kombatants missing from the fray. Two more Kombatants went at it next to the subway station.
