My deadline rules are a

different than normal. At deadline, only six votes will be required to lynch,

A manner of speech, a strange habit, and your fellow townspersons turn on you like some sort of wild pack of dogs. However, the righteous fury of the crowd goes unabated when they realize that kinkster was simply a man of Palermo; nothing more and (until very recently) nothing less.

, February 22 — A busy night for the Polizia Urbana; two separate murders on opposite sides of town. First, the simple businessman Primate was found in his front doorway, body riddled with small-caliber bullets. He appears to have been getting ready to walk his dog; the animal was nowhere to be found. Nothing was stolen from the house despite the door standing open for many hours.

It is an ill wind that blows no good, however; the high-powered lawyer Jalyn Mole, long suspected of ties to the Mafia, was discovered dead in her garage shortly after she failed to arrive at the office. Her body was discovered inside her garage, in her own car, with her throat slit. The engine was still warm; no further details have been released, except for a statement by his office that all legal cases started by Ms. Jalyn will be suspended until the funeral. Her willingness to defend shady characters with mob ties was not unnoticed by the media or the police, but nothing could be proven until now.

Palermo's troubles continue, as the mob justice takes out another good citizen of the town. With this much fear and panic in the air, is it even possible to restore order and save this fair city? TS, at least, is beyond caring about such things. At least he is given a proper burial before you all retire for the night.

Palermo, Sicily

, February 23 — Another brutal night for the good citizens of Palermo. Multiple deaths took place overnight, although ties to the Mafia have neither been ruled out or decided in each case.

In the first instance,

VitaminR

was found dead in his car, still in his workplace's parking garage, the window broken out and his brains sprayed across the vehicle from a small-caliber weapon at close range. Several other shots to the body ensured that even the massive head wound would not be recoverable under any circumstances.

Then,

Dragon Phoenix

's house was the scene of a three-alarm fire. His body was found in the front room near the door, and it was thought at first that he succumbed to smoke inhalation, until the body was fully examined and found to have a deep puncture wound through the abdomen. More distressing perhaps to police investigations is that his records of gun ownership by the citizens of Palermo were destroyed in the fire, which appears to have been set intentionally. Police suspect arson, subsequent to the murder.

Finally, and most horribly,

Phoebus

's body was found in his car not a mile from the Ospedale Civico Palermo. If only he could have gotten to the hospital in time, his life might have been spared; sadly, neither his driving nor his medical skills availed him this night, and his car was found in the ditch, stalled out. He had apparently died from a shotgun blast to the chest, although he must have driven away from wherever he was shot, as there was little forensic evidence at the crime scene.

Phoebus, Doctor, was found dead in his car in a ditch at the end of Night Two.

In regards to the tie-vote scenario, I would ordinarily say it was unlikely that would result in a lynch since at least one more stray vote somewhere would make both 'leaders' under 50% of the cast votes. But in this situation where only two people are being voted, it would be the first one to reach threshold.

~N9V~, a member of the Italian Scout Federation as a youth, seems to have been out late at nights, or otherwise not getting enough sleep? How else to explain his lackluster defense when the threats came down? Alas, it was too little too late, and his body swung from a tree in the town square when all was said and done. Even more unfortunately, he was just what he said he was. And what comes next?

Omertà continues to grip Palermo in its icy fingers. Two more bodies were found last night, each a gruesome testament to the deadly cat-and-mouse game being played out between the forces of law and order, and those of crime and violence.

First, the pre-dawn silence was rocked by a terrific explosion from the western side of town, just off the Via Altarello. neighbors complained of an apparent gas leak, and the cause of the explosion seems to have been a faulty water heater. Foul play has not been ruled out, but

is dead whatever the eventual verdict. A shame too, as she was a veteran of the World War conflicts in the 40s, and a respected member of the citizenry.

The drama of that apparent accident was overshadowed by the quieter but even more grisly discovery of

hollywoody1221

's body in his home, after he failed to report to work at his office. The home had been broken into, and while very little of the belongings were disturbed and nothing may have been stolen, the crime scene was nevertheless exceedingly complex due to the bits and pieces of hollywoody scattered about his bedroom. He seems to have been smothered in his sleep and then dismembered for fun, or as a warning? Either way, the pieces will definitely end up in the morgue, not the hospital, later today.

A quiet man, Cubsfan4ever was known for his tersely worded, sometimes upsetting comments at the diner over breakfast, and was not especially well liked among the people of the town. However, at the end of the day, it comes down to whether or not he supported the criminal element in Palermo, and the truth is that he did not. He just liked to watch American baseball and be left alone.

Another deadly night on the streets and in the homes of Sicily's capital. Mixed emotions fill the hearts of those hearing the news this time:

First, a 1-1-2 call brought police to the site of a horrific car accident. However upon further examination, the wreck seems to have not been an accident at all, but rather the result of a series of small-caliber, high-velocity rounds being fired into

Ancalagon

's car as he drove home from work. The body was identified by some of the very people he worked with at the hospital.

Secondly, and possibly related, a body was found on the street outside the Museo Archeologico Regionale, apparently haven fallen from the roof. Foul play was also suspected here, as the fingers and throat showed signs of a struggle, indicating that this was not merely a suicide in reaction the grow growing danger facing the city. The investigation was unofficially suspended when it came to light that

had serious connections to the mob, and was not a pillar of the community by any stretch of the imagination.

SIRACUSA - Palermo's crime wave hit new depths of depravity tonight, as three more bodies were found. The only remaining survivor of this once-noble city is nowhere to be found, and we can only speculate on the fate of Signor Raffles. Perhaps he was on vacation on the mainland, and escaped the bloodshed.

Yosarian2 was not nearly so lucky. He was found hung by the neck in the back room of Dima's Late Night Pizza and Sandwich shop, his body stuffed into the walk-in freezer in the back. It was difficult to say how long he had been there, but his death appears to have been quick, a mercy for such a good citizen of Palermo.

Not so for the German immigrant Panzerjager. His body was found in a warehouse on the docks, and appears to have been tortured before being shot multiple times in the chest, dying rapidly but not easily of blood loss. Despite his immigrant nature, he was an upstanding member of the community and did not deserve his tragic fate.

But the greatest shock of all was reserved for the morning. Don Alex Paoletti, reputed to have ties to criminal activity across Sicily, was found brutally butchered in the Mirrors Room of the Teatro Massimo. It is difficult to imagine how someone could have snuck up on him in that place, but he was clearly surprised and authorities will only state that his death was neither quick nor painless.

And that's why you should never give up when you still have a chance. With four left alive, both remaining scum took out a townie, and that left the Godfather and the SK to face off against each other. According to the game setup however, Raffles won ties, so he took the eventual prize, and there was no need to have a 2-man endgame, as amusing as that might have been to me as Mod.

Town did not do a stellar job in this one; the only Mafioso you actually lynched practically gave himself away, the other three all falling to Raffles' homicidal urges. I purposefully chosen to include no Cops, but instead two protective roles (three if you count the Army Vet) and a Tracker. None of that did very much good, though; if anyone was protected, it was most often Raffles!

And that's really where I have to wonder what people were thinking. Raffles was never even targeted for a Night Kill, or a serious candidate for lynch, despite leading the town around by the nose. I think he deserved this win, even with a few bonuses in his favor...

Alex; no, me and Panzer were killed. The game ended with just you and raffles, and because the SK wins ties, Raffles "killed" you in endgame.

What Yos said; essentially D6 dawned with two people alive, the Godfather and the SK, which meant there was no way to lynch, and since the SK won ties, the result of the upcoming Night was a foregone conclusion.

I want to hear more from SV about her role as Army Veteran, because she had a specific strategy she alluded to in PMs to me.

Actually, most of the roles are self-explanatory, this being a Normal Game (and any feedback on this being abNormal, I definitely want to hear about).

• Godfather didn't have immunity to the Tracker or Serial Killer, and there was no Cop to be immune to. He would have come up clean to the Gunsmith, since he did not own any legal guns (his Goons and Consigliere did).
  
• The Consigliere/Mafia Roleblocker could either kill or block, not both (but the Mafia could use both abilities by sending someone else to kill). They killed Primate N1, VitaminR N2, spectrumvoid N3 (after she used her single-shot), Ancalagon N4, and Panzerjager N5. I hope I was consistent in their death methods, but it was only flavor, not a clue.
  
• The Serial Killer beat the Mafia in a tie, but if endgamed with two Mafia would have lost. He could also bypass the Doctor/Nurse's protection, though that never happened. He killed mole/Jalyn N1, Dragon Phoenix N2, hollywoody N3, scotmany N4, and Yosarian2 N5 (I really expected both scum to target Yos that night, setting up a Prisoner's Dilemma for Panzerjager D6).
  
• The Tracker saw who
  their target
  targeted overnight, not who targeted them. The opposite situation came up once I think, when the Tracker's target was nightkilled by the Mafia, but was themselves a Townie. He targeted two Townies actually N1 & N2, and then was killed.
  
• The Gunsmith would not have discovered the Serial Killer , since he didn't use guns. He
  would
  have shown a result for the Army Veteran, obviously. DP was amused that I gave him a role that he originally created, and I consider it high praise that he said I forced him to join this game... he tried to investigate Raffles N1 but was blocked by the Mafia, and then succeeded (sort of) N2 but Raffles was the one to kill him, which is why that scene played out the way it did.
  
• Neither the Doctor nor the Nurse knew who the other one was; the Nurse was activated the day after the Doctor died. Together they tried to protect Yosarian N1, spectrumvoid N2 (resulting in the Army Veteran killing Phoebus), Raffles N3 and Yosarian N4.

I had a lot of fun with the death scenes in this one, even though they were just flavor. Thank you, Wikipedia, for place names!
