One small question. How is this resolvable? (I had considered trading in slaves this week which is why I have held off completing my buy phase...

I know it doesn't matter "much", with the delays in everyone posting.

But posts 201 202 and 213 do not follow the rules.

Post 201 is a Trade offer where HH proposes a trade to spront.
This trade is accepted in 202 by Spront. Thus HH must clearly be in the trading phase and un-able to make any more purchases. Yet he goes and acquires goods in 213.
This is Especially problematic as Spront has already sold slaves in post 202 that HH didn't buy until 213.......... ?

True, but I figured that since I wasn't going to be doing anything else I'd just finish off all of my turns and do it all in one go. I know HH hadn't bought the slaves yet...but if I had followed the phases and everything then the only thing that would've changed was me breaking up my post. I couldn't be bothered waiting so I just did it all at once, assuming that HH would buy the slaves, offer the trade, then continue as if I'd accepted it.

HH proposed a trade to sell slaves to sprontalic before he had actually bought the slaves. Sprontalic accepted, and after that HH bought the slaves and performed the trade. The only thing HH did wrong was bolding the proposal, because that caused confusion, because he didn't have the goods so he had to buy after that. But I understand this now, so next time if you officially offer a trade only do that when you have the goods, if you don't have the goods yet you can also propose a trade but don't bold it then.

Lawrencelot I might suggest limiting trades to the trading phase might be a better solution than just saying they have to have the goods to make the offer.

This would still be a problem if HH had been un-able to sell slaves last week and thus had them on hand to begin this week..

And we already established I thought) that trades involving goods that were not available are null and void anyway.

Yeah, that was entirely my fault. I made an offer before I had the goods when I should have just had Sprontalic make me the offer and I could accept after I had bought.

I need to make a correction to my last buying phase post. I started this week with 10,206 coins. I purchased 1,600 coins worth of goods, leaving me with 8,606 coins. My next purchase used 3,654 coins, which would leave me with 4,952 coins, not the 2,048 indicated in my post.

The week will end soon. But not everyone is here, I think shanba didn't have chance to do anything this week so if he does not post here I will end the week tomorrow.

I already changed the values for next week(not in the first post), now every type of merchandise can be traded with Roma for profit in half of the provinces. The values are a lot fairer, but there will still be provinces with advantages or disadvantages, but I hope there will be less difference. The myth powers will be implemented next week too.

Although I understand Shanba, we now have 4 players less than we started with. What do the others say, shall I try to find replacement or leave it like this? It does save me work with 4 players less, but you will have less possiblities to trade with others. On the other hand, I don't think anyone is willing to replace someone in this game now it's started, this game is hard for a replacement, but I could let people join if they want to and then they just start with the same as you guys started.

Raffles friend gave me the advise that there should be more goods between the price of marble and olive oil, because the difference is 10 times. I could add a type of merchandise (like cloth) with the price around 3000 coins, but that would change the game much. I don't think you guys mind that there is a big difference between marble and the next more valuable good, so I won't add more goods unless you say so.

Week 2 ends now! Updating... negotiations are allowed, actions are not.

Having a couple of provinces which are open does add a greater element of strategy to opening new offices, so I don't mind. I'm fine with the goods the way they are currently.

Mad Jackal, since shanba is out, you can still keep the loan and I'll just substract the interest from your coins at the end of every week. You can pay back the loan whenever you want.

Does 7150 sound fair to you? Nets us a equal profit of 1350.

I sell at 7000 to Roma so I see the trade as an "extra" profit of 150.
You buy from Roma at 8000 which means you'll make an extra profit of 850.

I'd think 7500 with the both of us gaining 500 would be more suitable.
