I'm not sure what's so "inconsistant" about Albert attacking me, getting a defense from me, liking my defense, and then not attacking me anymore.

Indeed. While LlamaHunter clarified his point in his last post, I really don't think there's much of a case there. It's not inconsistent when player A is suspicious of player B, then trusts him and agrees later. It's inconsistent when A is suspicious, then trusting, then suspicious, then trusting, etc., or when a player will flip-flop on the same exact point without anything changing in between. In this case, the change was Yos' posting and defense. I think LlamaHunter is really reaching with that case there.

In terms of my own suspicions, I'd have to go by process of elimination. I never liked the truncator case too much, I think Yos has brought up good points throughout the game, I don't like the case against Albert (though his aggression has surprised me at some points throughout the game), so that leaves LlamaHunter, pickemgenius, and Windfish. At this point, I think I'll
unvote: Windfish, Vote: LlamaHunter
to help the pace of the game. Couldn't hurt to have someone else with two votes and something else to ponder.

Also:
Windfish wrote:Could an IC explain how Day 1s (in C9 games) typically arrive at a lynch? It seems like there's always too little information until there's a lynch and kill and then to look back at everyone's behavior from Day 1, but it appears difficult to make progress to that first lynch without so little to go on.
Well, it always seems like there's little information on C9 D1s...because there is. In normal games, which start with night, there's a nightkill or two that give the town some information and some springboard for discussion. Normally, C9s struggle getting out of the random phase. Here, we had the third vote by truncator to help us with that at least. In terms of getting to a lynch, it's either very quick for the first possibly suspicious action (i.e., if we got carried away voting truncator and strung him up early) or very drawn out (like today is). The latter means that the town is being rational and willing to think a day through (which is very good!), but at some point we need to come to a consensus and move on. Unfortunately, a mislynch here almost certainly puts us at LyLo tomorrow, so we want to make sure we maximize our chances of lynching correctly, while not dragging this day out excessively. Balancing those two extremes is what makes a good day one in C9 so long inevitably.

Ooooh, don't I feel stupid.

unvote

When I made that argument, I'm not sure why but I had the inherent assumption that Albert's "What I see, is possible scum that I would like to continue to interact with." came
after
Yosarian's defense and not before. I was probably too focused on Albert to look at the bigger picture and avoid being chronologically-challenged.

I retract everything I just said.

I've PMed MeMe, but I think she should be able to figure out my role from the discussion! :P (That'd ought to make modding more interesting: not knowing who got what role.)

Anyway, there has been lots of interesting points, and I will re-read the thread.

Windfish: Why did you just unvote truncator? You've done nothing but express suspicion for him all game, and he hasn't done anything pro-town looking lately. Am I missing something?

My initial vote on him was not "suspicion", just a reaction to his L-1 vote. I certainly grew more suspicious as Day 1 has progressed.

I'd like to re-examine my positions, since I haven't given it a fair shake all-around. Basically, I'm against groupthink and irrationality in general, and I don't want to act too rash if I'm being exploited. docs and Llama's last posts were catalysts for me to cool off and re-approach my line of argument.

I still may re-vote for truncator. But I chose to unvote while I mull it over.

Four to lynch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And no posts in more than 24 hours just screams "Give us a deadline, Mod!" To which I can only reply, "Okey dokey." We'll set it for
9 a.m. EST Tuesday, June 26
(about one week from this post).
Here's how it works: when the deadline hits, night falls regardless of whether players have reached a majority decision. Player with most votes at deadline will hang. Usually mods require there be at least half the usual number of votes...in this case, however, I'll require at least 3 votes. If there's a tie for three votes, whichever player got there first is the lucky winner of a noose 'round the neck. If no player has at least 3 votes, everyone keeps breathing, though night will still fall. If a majority decision is reached before deadline, night will fall as usual.
Got it?
All right. We can't afford to no-lynch, which is what will happen if the voting stays as it is. I might as well vote for the person I currently find to be most suspicious.
I'm still fully happy with my vote on trunc.
This is a good time to note I will be on vacation from June 20th-25th(ish)
I should have IE, but not a lot of time to post and whatnot, if I check in briefly and see something happening, I might post something really quick. I expect to be back late the 25th, so I should have time to do a full analysis when I get back.
YOU NEVER EVER
WANT
A NO LYNCH IN SUCH A SMALL GAME!!!!
There are a few extreme situations where it is a good play, but it's for sure usually not a good idea.
While it is very bad to lynch someone who is pro-town, we get connections and get a better view on where everyone stands for later Days.
Yeah, some more scummy looking play from truncator here. Voting someone just in order to save yourself, with it still being 7 days left until deadline, dosn't seem especally pro-town to me.
