FoS: BMQ

1. I don't see how Xdaamno being surprised at the flavour (rather than the fact that there were two kills) makes any difference. I certainly don't remember ever drawing that distinction myself.

2. Distad's 191 is an example of the kind of post where surprise can be expressed without it being a scumtell - i.e. it covered a number of subjects and included a vote, rather than just saying "oh my, I'm so surprised!". We're talking about creating strong impressions, and a post which contains only one point will make a stronger impression than inserting that same point into a larger post. The single-point post serves scum's desire to appear surprised better, and is therefore a stronger scumtell.

Interesting theory on the killings, though I think CES pointed out the potential flaw fairly quickly. I also couldn't see anyone other than scum/SK killing Seol N1, unless our vig is a serious loose cannon.

Good to see Glork and CES fulfilling the requirement for at least one pointless semantic argument on day 1, by the way.

Cogito Ergo Sum wrote:BrianMcQueso, why would a vig kill Seol? This is not a logical vig target at all. And I strongly doubt the mafia would be given that level of control over the endgame. Mafia + "random" SK makes more sense.
Seol would likely not be the #1 vig target. Still, I'm skeptical as to the presence of two killing groups in a game this small with the town at a disadvantage. Also, having the 'methodical' kill be town-aligned seemed more proper. It's how I would have designed it. :P

If anybody isn't clear, the only reason I was surprised was because of the flavour, hence the '
randomly slain
'? If you interpret it otherwise, I could see how it could be a scum tell, but I can assure you it was about the flavour.

Simenon, is that completely based on your SK reasoning?

Not entirely, no. Vitr makes sense and wagoning flay should give us plenty of information.

Directly after this whole quote, Flay had his outburst. I didn't read it to be a response to the last part of the quote as much as a response to my comment (included in the quote) and the first half of XD's quote.

distad, I don't think there is a stronger implicit claim in any of those two quotes (and I still doubt that that was what Flay was referring to). Regardless, though, it doesn't change my point.

I'm not fond of CES' Glork vote. Hyperbole doesn't seem a good reason to vote someone. CES can do better.

So that's the reason that you're staying on the wagon? Because I have to say that the case you made for your own initial vote didn't make much sense.

Hmmm... persuasive as that was, I'm going to say no. I would like to see Flay respond to VitR's original post though, since I still have an FoS resting on him pending that response.

Incidentally, the attempt to start a wagon on Flay while he's V/LA is noted.

Still out of town so my response is curtailed, but I will clarify that the "please stop claiming" outburst is a combination of response to two ongoing games, and Xdaamno's "...and they don't" post. It seemed to be confirming that he was a vanilla townie who did not have to send in a list, though that seems weaker in retrospect than I thought at the time.

Honestly, I've pretty much lost all incentive to play. I can't choose my night actions based on how today goes, and I can't pwn some players based on their night actions. Combine that with the fact that nobody else seems to want to post either, and it becomes pretty hard to stay motivated. :?

Right now, I think Sim is probably town... for the record.

You've been 0 for 2 so far, Distad. Wanna try again?

Also, why Simenon over me? I've been on Flay all day. I'm getting a strong "scum defending scum"-vibe here.

FOS: distad

Glork and Sim are probably town. I thought was pretty sure CES was town earlier, but his Glork vote is bothering me. Nocmen I want to hear more of, though I had a good impression of him earlier. I'm neutral on Erg0, he hasn't really done anything to worry me. distad, Xdaamno and BMQ all seem mildly scummy to me (I order them that way in terms of scumminess).

I agree with you regarding distad for the most part, but I'm actually interested in Glork at this point. It could be playstyle, but he's been rather vague.

I can only vote for one person. Along those lines, you and Glork are right there, too.

I'm not at all convinced about Flay's wagon and I haven't seen anything to warrant a vote, let alone the wagon. Why are you convinced Glork/Sim are town?

Also, Glork's wasn't a good post. It's BS. I voted him, which he obviously would argue against. Then, when I vote what could certainly be his partner, he responds with "you're 0-2" and that's it. How is that POSSIBLY a constructive post?
