how am i opportunistic, i stated i didnt plan on voting you (atleast not yet), i pointed that out to get a reactin out of you to see how u would respond to get a better read on you, this game is really slow and there isnt much going on you had 4 votes on you and you had have to most attention on you i need to see how u would respond to critisism.RossWilliam wrote:I was referring to my use of the word oppurtunistic. Do you think it was a scummy play or a newbie play from melodyman? Why does the no-lynch vote have to be aTheSweatpantsNinja wrote:Yeah, the no-lynch vote is either a brilliant scum gambit, or a genuine newbie mistake.
Unvote, vote melodyman23.I don't particularly like the "jump on the bandwagon, get told it was bad, and jump right back off" play.
Could have been a newbie play from melodyman too, but its one I find more disturbing than the no-lynch vote. I've never seen someone suggest no-lynch and not get voted, so it doesn't seem like a very smart play out of rw.shanba wrote: Do you think it was a scummy play or a newbie play from melodyman? You are being called opportunistic for your post in 289, not later, where you ask rw why you shouldn't vote him, because he immediately 'jumped on' no lynch when the mod 'let him'. You stated that you didn't plan on voting rw in a later post. The rest of your explanation is pretty mediocre- you needed to see how he would respond to criticism? What/why? What does that mean?killa seven wrote:how am i opportunistic, i stated i didnt plan on voting you (atleast not yet), i pointed that out to get a reactin out of you to see how u would respond to get a better read on you, this game is really slow and there isnt much going on you had 4 votes on you and you had have to most attention on you i need to see how u would respond to critisism.RossWilliam wrote:I was referring to my use of the word oppurtunistic. Not really.Korlash wrote:that was a pretty stupid example... You can't boil a lynch down to one person plus that excuse isn't even plausable in a lynch situation.
But thats about the same reson I hate the attack "opprotunism" becuase it too becomes a moot point.
Or it's player X's playstyle to fuel wagons. God knows half the people on this site do it as often as they can. Or it's player X as a doc seeing another lynch happening and would rather it happen then he calim. Guess what... yeah... opprotunism =/= scum there does it? hence why it's a stupid and useless thing.Shanba wrote:Hypothetical situation: Player x is being bandwagoned. Player y votes 5th on the bandwagon and begins to tunnel in on him. The bandwagon dies down, despite y. Plyer z gets wagoned. Suddenly, player x starts tunneling on player z.
Now here is something I think has merit. Exactly who has so far used that excuss? And for the sake of those who have no tbeen following this, what excuss was it?neko wrote:But, I think the point he's trying to make is that too many people are using that excuse to vote.
I personally don't see anything inherently scummy about this. WhatPhate wrote: I was hoping to provoke some responses or draw some opportunism.
