I disagree with this completely.
Could you explain your reasoning as to why it's a good idea?
I'd rather see you explain your reasoning as to why it ISN'T a bad idea. That goes for you too CKD.

BM
already done that
Ah i see. my turn with the retort then.

Stating who you think is town is like stating who you think is scum. It gets ur opinions down, can give good meta information and allow power role breadcrumbs. Theres probs more, but thats more than enough to counter the negatives.

@Charity-vote for Imat, or explain why you think he is town.

It's not like you can't change your mind and unvote later. Make some kind of note about who you think is scumm.

This applies for everyone else who hasn't said much as well.

Don't think I've stated this so far, but my top 4 are (from least good to best lynch):

Sweatpants Ninja
Nanosauramo
Incognito
Battlemage

Incognito did one of the things I attacked BM for (BM is still up like 3 to 1 though, including the claim), and there for is scummier than the people I attacked for not doing things.

Imat? Seems like a newbie who hasn't become acquainted with the random voting phase.

I forgot to mention in my last post that Incongito also lurked before coming back to hop on the wagon. He's the only person so far that's close enough to overcome Battlemage as a legitimate lynch choice IMO. The other 2 are more FOS worthy, with definite potential for pressuring.

People are questioning Battle Mage, he's answered all of the questions adequately, and he's still under suspicion.

I don't like that.

Hi. Good timing. I promise I won't neglect this game anymore or like two of my other games. The vote on thenextepisode was more for pressure since he seemed to not be voicing his opinion about much (except to pop in every now and then to recap the game). It seems to have worked since he did begin talking finally. Having said that,
unvote
while I catch up with the latest happenings.

P.S. I
don't
think Battle Mage is a legitimate choice for a lynch. His replies to all of the questions regarding his claim have been sincere, and I feel like he's been keeping the game moving along. Also, I wouldn't expect Battle Mage (who often receives a lot of attention just for being him) to pull off some "I'm a miller and not scum" type of gambit from page 1 of the thread. I could be wrong though.

I suggested Jester because its a dangerous role, however we can't worry about a Jester until we have some sort of proof of that. As Townies, our only power as a group is the lynch, so having a role that reverses that into a negative causes me to hold my tongue. However, I find it unlikely that Jester's are played often (I wouldn't really know, just guessing based on other comments). Therefore I disregarded my statement. I think, while the chance is there, the odds of having a Jester in this game are minimal and therefore we can vote, not so much safely, but more securely.

Also, I am a newb to this forum, so I don't really see the point of random voting. See if someone gets defensive, perhaps? I think we should make every vote count, otherwise what good is having said vote?

Without random voting, there's few realistic ways of getting discussion started that don't lead to set up speculation and other awkward scenarios.

Truly random voting is not really helpful to the town.

However, voting for small, insignificant reasons can trigger reactions and voting patterns. These trigger discussion, and votes become a little more serious, voting patterns are even more distinguished, someone makes too many mistakes, and is then lynched.

Great way to gather information on day one.

Random voting once official strategerie has started can be awkward and unwieldy though. Sometimes a scumtell, sometimes just awkward and unwieldy.

The reactions that form off of 1 person true randoming are interesting though.

Because you can never disregard a role completely, thats just a bad move in general. So I'm saying we should realize that there is the possibility, however unlikely, of a Jester, but that we can't let that stop us from trying to find the real killers here.

And, now thats its been described, I do see the point of random voting a tiny bit. However, I still feel it has its own major drawbacks.

Really? Seems like you have a few obvious choices, like Battle Mage (who I'm not necessarily opposed to, but not sold on), imat (who I don't really get the case on except that he decided to mention a jester, which is annoying but scummy), or nanosauromo (who I also don't particularly don't get the case on). Surely there's someone worth voting for in that. I find it suspicious that you aren't willing to commit to anyone.

Unvote, vote Charity.

Can you please quantify said vote hopping? From my cursory reread, I'm seeing 2 random votes and 2 non-randoms, which is exactly the same as most people. Can you fill in the blanks as to how his actions were vote hopping, especially before his Charity vote which I can see as justifiable.
