I still feel the same about Someone2, but enough people seem very sure he's not scum that I have to think someone knows something I don't. So I'm leaving that be for now, and my next best bet is Lowell.

If Claus or Ythill are scum they're
good
because they both seem very town to me. Thesp is town. No one busses like that.

Here's the thing - I don't think Setael is scum, largely because of how he went after someone2. I don't think Setael would attack someone2 like he did while Thok was doing the same (though less vehemently), it's not consistent with my experience of how scum go after town. I also don't think someone2 is scum, in large part for how Thok attacked him - it certainly didn't feel like bussing to me!

I have this lingering doubt about Streeflo/Ythill which hasn't subsided, despite Ythill's pristine play.

I want to see what our newcomer thinks. :)

This is not a reprieve Lowell. I am simply ensuring that nothing wonky happens while our newcommer catches up.

Howdy stranger.

Seems like a good time to talk about it now. Can you expound upon this doubt?

I like this post a lot. In fact, in think the most important ways scum expose themsleves are (a) when a contentious lynch vote comes down to a scum and a non-scum and (b) when a scum teammate leads a charge against a town player. Thesp's assessment looks about right to me.

I'll be out of town all weekend, likely with no access. Hopefully by Monday we'll have something from our replacement. Happy weekend everyone!

I'm kind of glad for the temporary slowdown because BIG THINGSTM are happening in some of my other games. If you're bored this weekend, check out Mini 542 in which I am confirmed town going into a very interesting endgame. It's a dense read, especially D1, but the last few pages are entertaining.

I hope this doesn't sound mean, because it's not meant to be: please don't discuss other ongoing games. I think it's unlikely that it has any significant bearing in this instance (and I think you are well-intentioned here and it won't do harm to the game), but as a matter of good form, you may want to avoid it. (Sometimes people will inadvertenly give things away on other instances that they otherwise shouldn't.) Good luck in it, either way. ;)

Still waiting for new guy.

I suppose you're right. I thought it was okay because I was only stating public information, but I'll take your advice and shut up. Don't see how anyone could think you were being mean though, with all of those parenthetical disclaimers.

Okay, it's been six days since the stranger replaced in. Long enough to read 25 pages methinks. And it's been almost two days since Claus asked for a prod. I'm tired of waiting.

Last chance for the stranger to join the discussion. I will check back in later today and hammer Lowell.

Lowell, if I wasn't been being courteous to our newcommer, Thesp's vote would have strung you up last night. I'm not trying to pressure the stranger to post, just giving him time to catch up. He's now had that time.

Without a even a check-in post, I see no reason to keep waiting.

Vote Lowell
Goodnight.

Your 'one and only' votecount of Day Five, brought to you by Chesney Hawkes:

Lowell 4 (Claus, Setael, Thesp, Ythill)

Ythill 1 (Lowell)

Not voting: TheStranger

It seemed that the previous two day's successes had gone to the heads of the citizenry. High on a potent mix of righteous anger and bloodlust, they quickly agreed that the one named Lowell was a likely candidate to continue the streak of lynched Mafiosi. After all, he was kinda mysterious, and no-one knew a lot about him.

They searched Lowell's house for clues, but found nothing. Zip. Nada. No evidence of a mafia connection, or even much of a social life. Sometimes, people don't give away a lot about themselves just because there ain't that much to give.

Lowell,
Vanilla Townie,
has been lynched.

It is now night five. Actions in by 5pm GMT, monday 10th March.

It was a wet and miserable day in New Catania. The five surviving citizens made their way to the square, muttering under their breath as they walked. Wait... five? That's right, no-one died last night!

It is now day six. With five alive, it is three to lynch.

Hmm. Claim time?

I'm seriously beginning to think it's a good idea. It's against the scum's interest to no-kill here - the numbers are terrible for it.

As long as we have a cop, this game is in the bag. By now the cop should have either found scum or have enough innocents to narrow things down significantly. I think a mass claim is a good idea at this point.

I'll start. I'm vanilla.
