You may be right...but it'd be too simple if many of the new players were scum? that would totally break the game.

...speaking of which, is it just me, or has the Iris pretty much vanished in terms of the storyline of SG1?

I kind of left when Jack did, so I'm not that up on the current season. But no, I can't think of any big Iris stories since the McKay/Teal'c one.

This is my first game this big- what's a likely number of scum with 30 players?

mm. In the current season, there are some hits, some misses. more of the former than the latter, IMHO.

Coppelia: I was just seeing if there was more than meets the eye with the absent players more than anything else. I've played in/read too many games in the last couple of years with... unusual... voting. Voting for the mod. Players not listed in the official players list. Players voting through the mod. Etc.

Which reminds me,
vote ChannelDeliBird
.

Not really sure why you'd think the absent players are more or less likely to be scum. We know now that they're not involved until CDB says they are, and the circumstances will give us an idea of how that plays out.

That's not how I read it at all.
Mod's Description of the Game wrote:while this will allow the SGC personnel who are currently offworld to return, it will also enable other, possibly unsavoury people to come through as well.
Seems it'll be a mix, and with what I remember from the show, teams sent offworld are usually groups of four, so a 4/2 split seems somewhat likely.

i expect that the offworld players havent got roles yet, and as such, when they are introduced, roles will probably allocated in order to balance the game i.e. if we kill alot of scum early on, the new players are likely to be scum, whereas if the town starts badly, i expect them to be more protown.

Honestly, a random bandwagon, especially with these numbers, isnt bad. It starts conversation, and theres no serious intent for a random lynch. Any protown player would take there vote off if it got too close (seeing as most of the players in this game are *fairly* experienced).
I play the games rul gud.

The iris is the center of the Stargate. The key themes are pretty much fighting alien evil from other planets while befriending the good guys.

I'm of the belief that the roles of the off-world characters are rigid, and that there are, as suggested, four team members and two other.

hmm....well, it all depends on how they come back..

For now, though, I think the future roles are a moot point, because we can't say anything for certain, so why think about them?

That's a bandwagon? Not a very large one considering how many players we've got.

vote johhan
for being extremely defensive about an obvious bandwagonning vote, trying to downplay it, and for attacking someone merely for asking for reasons.

I wouldn't get carried away assuming the incoming players are going to be 4/2 town/scum. Pure speculation. It's not unlikely- I'd expect about 2 out of 6 players to be scum or neutral in this game anyway- but it is pure speculation.

I dont see why you needed to vote him for asking for reasons. You provided the answer (to create discussion) right in your post. That did seem like a bit of an overreaction.

Um, I'd just be honest, say I bandwagonned to get the game moving along. You're just making a stupid excuse.
