(yes, this post is long, but I would rather have everything be clear from the start)
1. Please abide by all
site rules (most of the important ones are repeated in this post).
2. If you have questions or feel that a situation needs moderator intervention, PM me.
3. Toxic and harmful behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:
- flaming, insulting, or directing personal attacks at other players
- use of slurs or derogatory language
- spamming
- excessive AtE
- otherwise being a jerk/making the game unenjoyable for others
4. Play to your win condition.
5. If you wish to replace out, request replacement via PM. Do not discuss replacing out in thread or suggest that another player replace out.
6. Once you request replacement or I notify you that you are being replaced, it is final. You cease to be a player in the game and may no longer post. You may not replace back into your slot.
7. Dead bodies don't talk! Dead players may not post in the game thread or any associated PTs other than the spectator PT.
8. Do not discuss this game outside of the game thread and associated PTs, and do not discuss other ongoing games in this game's threads.
9. Do not quote private communications into the game thread. Paraphrasing is fine. Private communications include:
- your role PM
- communications with the moderator
- posts from PTs
10. Do not engage in the use of trust tells.
11. Do not use provable randomness. Claiming to have rolled a die, for example, is fine; using dice tags is not.
12. Do not use cryptography, invisible text, or text under size 75.
13. If you have the power to edit or delete posts, refrain from using it.
14. My mod colour is
#02B6CE
. Please refrain from using it.
15. In the past, the word "lynch" referred to the town's elimination method. Due to the racially charged history of lynchings in the USA, Mafiascum no longer allows this word to be used. Alternatives include:
- eliminate and its derivatives
- execute
- condemn
- fade
- vote off
- YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
- anything else that gets the point across
16. Pretending to break a rule will be treated as if the rule was actually broken.
17. Moderation actions will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the individual circumstances. Player alignment, of course, will not be a factor.
18. I reserve the right to alter (some aspects of) the ruleset. If I do so, I will announce it in thread.
19. At minimum, you must post in the game thread once every 36 hours. If you fail to do so, you will be prodded.
20. You must pick up your prod within 24 hours or be replaced. I am somewhat lenient about prod dodges as long as they are followed up with game-relevant content within a reasonable period of time.
21. If you accumulate 3 prods, you will be replaced.
22. If you are going to be absent for longer than 36 hours, please declare V/LA in thread or by PM. V/LA players will not be prodded.
23. Any player who does not post anything game-relevant for 5 days will be replaced. This rule applies regardless of V/LA status. If you foresee that this will be the case for you, please request replacement.
24. Day 1 has a 10-day deadline. All other days have a 7-day deadline. Nights have a 2-day deadline.
25. Deadline extensions may be granted in special circumstances. Requests for extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
26. The night can end early if all living players, including those without night actions, agree to it.
27. Votes and unvotes must be bolded in the format
VOTE: Player
or in vote/unvote tags (
VOTE: Player). Vote/unvote tags are preferred. You can get vote tags by typing (vote)Player(/vote) with square brackets.
28. I will not count votes that are:
- unclear
- improperly formatted
- in spoilers or obviously broken quotes
-
struck through
or purposely obfuscated in any other way
29. An elimination occurs when a majority (>50%) of players agree to eliminate someone. If no majority is reached by the deadline, no elimination will occur.
30. You may vote to no-eliminate (
VOTE: No Elimination). If the number of living players is even, only 50% of players must agree to secure a no-elimination.
31. Once the hammer vote is cast, the day’s fate is sealed. Discussion may continue into the twilight, but no further votes or unvotes will be counted.
32. All existing PTs have daytalk.
33. If you would like a notes PT, you may request one. You can state that you have a notes PT, but you may not attempt to use it to prove you are working from a town mindset (real or fabricated).
34. All PTs shared by two or more players will be released unredacted after the game ends. If you have a notes PT, it is up to you what you would like to do with it, and you will have the moderator privileges to do it yourself.
