However, the thing I DO want to add is their interactions with black generally read to me like crazy as either scum trying to follow a townie, or a scum acting pair-pair with their partner

This read reminds me of something Shea pointed out about me recently:

I think tonally she asks all these extremely pointed questions. The questions themselves aren't always pointed but they have a tonal resonance to me of 'I think you're a baddy' which is in and of itself kind of pointed and so when she's interacting with people (including me) it frequently feels like she's scum reading them and then those interactions go nowhere because she likes to jump around and poke her nose into everything so that tone and lack of followup always kind of feels opportunistic to me.

Arko's case on me is hot garbage. It's based entirely on meta, and I'm not some formulaic robot that plays the exact same way every game. My play is more influenced by things like what is going on in a game and what is going on in my actual life than it is by my alignment. I think comparing my early game posting between my town and scum games is a really poor way to try and determine my alignment, and that's even more evident considering Arko's conclusion here

That being said I like Arko's posts after the case, specifically his thoughts on Klick/Hu Tao in 151. I'm getting the vibe that he's probably just tunneled town here. I think part of this read is influenced by Hu's response to the case. 158 is really bad and makes her lose some town points imo. How is a case this bad selling her on scum!me? The effort put in makes me feel better than I did about Arko.
To be honest, I've never hugely liked meta cases - I do kind of see the comparisons, but not sure I want to 100% commit to any kind of scum read on Black solely based off a meta case alone. I find it a little weird that from what I recall, a lot of the early suspicion on Black was purely because "she's playing like she did in other scum games", which I'm not sure how I feel about.

I don't think it's that crazy. Hammering yeah, but putting someone to e-1 in RVS can easily be dismissed as a joke or something scum probably wouldn't do, which was the case in this game. If someone isn't paying attention and accidently hammers me, or if someone purposely lolhammers me, all the attention shifts to them and scum!Testa gets a free mislim

Testarossa's questioning is something I like as well, because the questions she is asking do seem to be helping progress the game, get peoples thoughts, and get a better idea of where everyone stands

My big problem with posting most of your content in this way is it smokescreens your play in two ways. First, you make yourself unavailable for live interaction which I think in the vast majority of scenarios is the mist important way of forming reads. The second problem is you cram your thoughts into large posts which makes them harder to process or engage with, which I think tends to have an effect of causing a short-circuit of anyone trying to parse the player that does it into going “big wall of content = town”.

Again, not to beat a dead horse, but this is exactly how Kittie played as town. She barely live posted and a lot of her content came in the form of long catch-up posts. Perhaps she could play like this as scum too but I don't think this particular point is alignment indicative for her

At the beginning of this game you were way more active and verbose than I've ever seen you before. Naerys actually pointed this out in 49 and you said you were on vacation for the past few weeks and couldn't say as much, but even in games before that I don't remember you trying this hard. Mini Normal 2313 comes to mind here, along with a few other examples I looked through. If you had to pinpoint a reason why then what would you say caused this? To be clear I'm not suggesting you're scum because of this, I haven't really had a chance to look at any of your scum games, but I'm genuinely curious if there is anything that could be attributed to this behavior

It's hard to explain but I get this gut feeling about certain people and sometimes I can't shake it. It happened in the last game I played with Crescent. They were doing all the townie things you would expect and no one really seemed to scumread them except me, and I ended up being right about them. I'll admit it's not a strong read and probably not worthy of fading him but I wouldn't be opposed going there

I am trying to figure out people. My D1 is usually bit weaker, but it gets better.
I am still on Black. I dont like her positioning upon me. She calls it "putting a pressure on me" but to me it feels like pure opportunism.

My problem is I have trouble with thinking your tunnel on Black feels like Arko's tunnel on her for example. Your play comes off as more static here, kind of like scum that doesn't know how to find a better target and how to engage with it. While I am no fan of the beetlejuicing argument, it's difficult to ignore how you were more present the very moment the wagon on you was formed. Can you explain why you think Black comes across as more opportunistic and with no intention of scumhunting here?

Also what's your take on Arko, Enchant slot and Thom?

Enchant likes to troll at D1, so its hard to read them.

Sorry for the replace out! I feel like I honestly could have played no problem if I had been town, but being maf gave me too much stress. Just that fear of being found out. I followed this game as it went on and thought town played well, ggs to everyone.

Looked at the dead thread, I think you’re a fine player Enchant. Fyi I had a scum slump in late 2020/early 2021 I believe, so you’re not alone in thinking you’ve lost the scum sauce. Find a general strategy that works for you and play variants of that going forward, would be my advice for improving scum play.
