I am trying out a new strategy this game of being stingy with townreads (based on a post by Dannflor in my Mafia Discussion thread), so I am going to say that this thought process is NAI (but I still wanna townread you deep inside. Being stingy with townreads is HARD).

What made you want to try this new strat

I can’t do anything about you thinking I’m being “performative”, that’s just how I express myself. And it seems a big unfair to assume I’m not focused on solving things, I’ve been giving this game a lot of my attention. Some things I felt more strongly about and that’s where my attention went. If things I wasn’t giving as much thought to begin to gain steam, I’m just being honest when I say I need to take a better look.

That was my very first game, ever. It’s true that I didn’t know anyone’s meta. How am I supposed to? And it’s still true. Just because I was scum doesn’t mean everything I did or said was a lie. I starting reading over pg 17/18 because I had skimmed them earlier and I saw Dann's post about Gimli's bravado for the first time. I wasn't really feeling Gimli in this exchange with the whole "no u" thing and I started to reconsider my read on Dann a little

I read Gimli's recent Hu read and had a thought that it felt like he was looking for reasons to townread her. I started looking at Hu's ISO and saw the "you can earn your townread back" post and it hit me. This is eerily similar to something she said to me in Flavorless Hell when I was playing as an alt:

It is still early, if you town it up I can reconsider.

It has the same smugness, the "I control your fate" type vibes

So now I'm starting to reconsider my Dann read and my Hu read and that makes me more willing to explore the Gimli wagon

This feels like a really fake reaction, given the way Gimli has been acting. He's literally calling me a "textbook lurker" when the game length has barely passed the prod timer. That's a false narrative and if you're town you should be realizing it here, not making excuses for him. This is a highly active game but that doesn't make people who actually have lives and can't spend all day every day writing posts and reading things lurkers.
