Isn't it blindingly obvious that I want to use tarh as a supersaint on Snow? My town read on Tarh is weak at best. I hate the WIFOM of keeping him around- in case we decide he is scum later, we'll wind up sacrificing whoever hammers him. And I think SB is very scummy. A handy 2 for 1 deal.

Assume
Snow is scum
tar is scum, bomb
Snow refuses to hammer, so we lynch snow. Its left ambiguous whether or not tar is town or even a bomb. If we lynch tar, we still end up losing a townie. nul result
We only lose a townie if we have a townie hammer Tarh later on. And trading a potential townie later for scum-Snow now is not null.
Snow is scum, tar is scum
Snow refuses to hammer, so we lynch snow. Its left ambiguous whether or not tar is town or even a bomb. nul result
Catching scum-Snow is not null, it removes a scum. We don't find out if Tarh is a bomb but we don't know that anyway.

Snow either hammers to take a townie with her, or relies on the previous two possibilities and refuses to hammer, so that if we check tar, we'll lose two townies nul result
If scum-Snow hammers town-Tarh, we're still up. If she refuses, we lynch her and consider Tarh later- even better.

But you say I think tarh is town. I told you my town read is weak at best. I am totally open to scum-tarh. I am quite sure there is scum between him and Snow. If we lynch Tarh and have Snow hammer, we get information on their alignments based on their reactions to the plan. If we lynch Snow we don't learn anything about Tarh.

Having a bunch of night-interactions is fun. Having your faction's victory or loss depend on interactions between roles you never knew existed is less fun. In this game I had decent dayplay, RB'd a scum night 1, and would have protected a town PR night 2. But I was vanilla'd, then killed. After that I could only watch as wierd role interactions led to messed up claim situations and rendered traditional dayplay mostly moot.
I think I have reached the point where seeing all the wacky roles isn't as fun anymore if it controls the outcome of the game. I just don't want to play games where half the player list has 4 abilities anymore.

enjoy my next game that I've already signed up to mod. Insane Asylum II is actually a game that will actively DISCOURAGE trusting night actions, and will probably not be as role heavy, staying faithful to how IA I worked.
I might be /in for that. It's not power roles I hate- I'd be up for a vanillaless game any day- but when make the day game look like a joke the density is too high.
I don't want to sound bitter because I was on the losing side. Our scumteam won TTGL in a very similar way. Jahudo messed up and claimed cult leader as town, and self-voted. Quickvote x3, gg. And the games probably are balanced, they're just so swingy based on the night stuff. I haven't looked at it closely but a scum team could probably have won even if town did something like lynch a low-power townie D1, then two members of a scumteam D2 and D3.

haha, I guess that kind of sums up this game for me. A scumteam won because they targeted a dead player with a rolecop ability before he could force the mod to break the setup for him.
