An innocent man's corpse sits at your feet. You are surrounded by people, on all sides. You don't remember anything. Unintelligible sounds swarm around you: screaming, shouting, accusing, crying, but all you can hear is your confused thoughts scratching at the precipice of your mind, begging for an escape... Where are you? Why are you here? Sounds rattles the thoughts out of your head, and you scream in frustration. The room falls silent, and everyone stares at you and your outburst. It all comes back. The mafia. You have to kill the mafia.

Rules: (Blatantly stolen from several sources...)

Voting and Deadlines:

1. Voting must be bolded in the form Vote: Player, or else they probably will not be counted. Unvotes are not required to change your vote, but they are helpful.
1a. Fake votes are not allowed. We're playing Mafia, not trying to see who's most easily fooled.
2. I don't mind if you use nicknames/abbreviations when you vote someone. But if I have no idea who you're voting for, then the vote won't be counted.
3. Lynches require a majority of votes: (numberoflivingplayers/2) +1, rounded down
4. If there's no majority at deadline, there's no lynch. Deadlines are set at three weeks and extensions will only be given in the most extreme of circumstances.
5. When the hammered vote is cast, all players except for the lynched may talk freely.
6. When you are hammered, you may make a "bah" post. Nothing more.

Prods and Replacements:

1. Prods will be given if you do not post in 72 hours. I do not count weekends in that 72 hours (as a result, deadlines will never fall that close to a weekend).
2. You will be replaced if you either do not respond to a prod, or need to be prodded more than 5 times. You may request for a player to be prodded at any time, but the less you request, the happier your mod is.
3. If you're V/LA, make sure I know. If you are V/LA for more than a week, I'd suggest requesting replacement, but that's not required.

Misc.

1. Red, blue, and green are mod colors. Sorry for taking all the good ones...
2. You can talk about the game in the quicktopics given to you via PM. Otherwise, please refrain from talking about this game outside of the thread.
3. No editing, deleting, using invisible texts, etc...

The F11 setup is the current game format used in Newbie games. To prevent the development of game-breaking strategies, these Newbie Games are Semi-Open, wherein the actual game setup is randomly chosen from one of four possible setups as detailed below:

• 1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 1 Sane Cop, 1 Sane Doctor, 5 Townies
  
• 1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 7 Townies
  
• 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Sane Cop, 6 Townies
  
• 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Sane Doctor, 6 Townies

If either of the first two setups are in play, and the situation occurs where the Goon is lynched first, the Roleblocker will still be able to submit both night kills and roleblocks (roleblocking is a function of the Roleblocker; night kills are a function of the scum team as a whole).

You're one of the good guys. You remember that you were placed here in order to extinguish the mafia, and nothing else. You have retained all of your intelligence, guile, and dashing good looks, though, so finding and killing the mafia should be a snap for you?

• You have no abilities at Night other than getting a good night's rest.
  
• Although you do not have any special abilities, your voice and vote are powerful weapons in their own right. Use them to your best advantage!
  
• At no time may you privately communicate with any other player.
  
• You win when all the Mafia players are gone, whether you survive to the end or not.

Cop:

You're one of the good guys. And unlike almost everyone else around you, you remember things about the mafia. How they dress, how they behave, how they sleep... These things haunted your nightmares for a very long time, and now you have use of them. Unfortunately, you cannot conduct your examinations of a person's character until everyone is sleeping... You will have to hide during the day, and look for the mafia during the night, and pray that they won't find you first.

• Each NIGHT, you may send the moderator a PM with your choice of player that you want to investigate.
  
• The Moderator will inform you as to that person’s guilt or innocence.
  
• At no time may you privately communicate with any other player.
  
• In a Newbie game, you will always get a correct result (no sanity issues).
  
• You win when all the Mafia players are gone, whether you survive to the end or not.

Doctor:

You're one of the good guys. And you don't remember anything, except that you're strong. Stronger than any of these punks, anyways. You remember that the mafia like showing their cowardly faces at night, and you remember that they won't want to mess around with you or whoever you hang out with during the night. They won't be afraid to stab you in the back, though...

• Each NIGHT, you may send the moderator a PM with your choice of player that you want to protect.
  
• If someone attempts to kill that player during the Night, they will be spared.
  
• You may not protect yourself.
  
• At no time may you privately communicate with any other player.
  
• In a Newbie game, your protection target will always live through the night (no quacks).

Sondanaa gets up without a word, looking around the room. "Don't call me that anymore. I'm a new man now."

People look confused for a moment, and whispers of insanity spread throughout the group like wildfire. Sondanaa shakes his head. "I will be known as

now. And if you schoolchildren are done gossiping, I believe we have some mafia to catch."

Without warning, Spikkle begins to cough. Normally, this would not be such an interesting event, but this cough is different. This cough was violent, loud, relentless. In fact, the formerly mute Spikkle was now raising such an uproar that the entire room had turned to him. He covered his mouth with his hand, trying in vain to silence himself. But when he drew his hand away, it was covered in blood.

"Help me!" he choked between coughs. "Help me!"

Men wearing white trenchcoats descended on him, stabbing him with medicine-filled syringes until he fainted. Oddly enough, the cough continued even as he was unconscious. The sound of his coughing was heard as they dragged him off into an outside room, until massive doors shut with a clang. The loudspeaker started crackling again.

"Carry on. The patient will be taken care of."

But despite the voice's command, the room was still silent. Everyone stood in fear, not quite sure how to respond. Spikkle soon walked back out, his face wrapped in bandages. "Hi guys!" he said, waving. "I'm MrBump! It's nice to make your acquaintances!"

You still weren't used to the schizophrenics.

While you are carrying on your deliberations, one man remains silent, staring. You ignore it, knowing that he's probably experience a severe form of PTSD and will soon develop an alter ego that is able to better deal with the situation than this man can. You wait patiently.

...and sure enough, your patience pays off. After only a few moments, Common Man begins to make noise again. "I am not myself anymore!"

You yawn impatiently. "Whatever. What do we have to call you now?"

"What?" Common Man asks incredulously. "What on earth are you speaking of?"

"You're not Common Man, are you. Are you Superman now?"

"No." Common Man replies. "I am... Glass."

A voice crackles over the loudspeaker, commanding your attention instantly. "My patience grows thin..." it begins. "I will not wait forever for you to send forth one of the accused. You have four days from this point in order to find one of the two mafia that plagues us. If one of them are not brought forth before me by that time, then you will be placed back into the nighttime room regardless."

A little while later, there is a puff of smoke and a figure appears in front of all of you. He seems slightly confused. "You summoned me?" He asks, looking around at all of your faces. You instantly recognize his voice as the voice over the loudspeaker.

"Yes. We need a count of all supervisors present."

The man blinks a couple of times. "Well, I'm the only one present. But while I'm here, I might as well tally up the destruction count..."

"So it was you..." the summoned moderator mumbles, looking up at Sakako.

"Me? No! I'm not part of the Mafia! I swear!" Sakako protests, putting her hands up.

"I have five witnesses here saying that you are. What am I supposed to do, kill the majority of the people here and call them liars? No." he draws a gun and points it at Sakako's forehead. "Repent for your sins in this world, or pay for them in the next, swine. You're lucky I'm even giving you this chance after what you and your family has done to me..."

She glares defiantly back with tear-laden eyes. "You've gone insane. You'd break Maria's heart if she saw you right now..."

Bang.

Sakako's body crumples instantly, the same sad expression on her face. You can't help thinking that she was a damn good actor if she really was part of the mafia. However, her departure from this world raises questions that you don't dare to ask to the moderator's glaring face. "Leave this place at once." he states, eyes still on Sakako.

You all linger though, the draw of death too powerful to resist. "Check her." one of you whisper.

"She's innocent." he snaps. "Do you even need to check? No regret in her eyes, just pity for those of us still standing. Go back to your rooms. Now."

You oblige, leaving the moderator and the innocent corpse in the room alone. Memories come swarming back.

Spoiler: Dat Story Tiem

The grief that does not speak whispers to you during the night, along with the voices of memory that had long been hidden away. They swarm your unconscious brain, bidding your over-fraught to break. You chase away sleep, knowing that the minute it overtook you that images of Maria would assault you, the images that you've worked so hard to forget. But in games of life and death, it's fatal not to sleep... and so your fatigue finally overwhelms you, and you stumble into unconsciousness...

Maria's limp body lies there, a pool of blood surrounding her. She looks exactly like you remembered her, her brilliant blond hair in an uncoordinated mop around her head and her eyes empty of nothing but disgust. But this time, things are different. Two figures draped in black surround her now, motionless. You feel yourself running towards them, unable to stop yourself. "Show yourselves!" you shout, sprinting towards them.

They laugh at you in return. "Show ourselves?" one asks incredulously.

"You know us." the other finishes.

"We're all around you."

"We are your friend."

"Your friend, your friend, YOUR FRIEND!" Their voices meld together as they lunge at you in unison, bringing you to the ground. You struggle, but you cannot escape. The gun identical to the one the moderator pulled out to kill Sakako is pulled on you, and its barrel buries itself in your forehead.

"Separate the grain from the chaff soon, kid."

"Separate your friends from your foes."

The two figures chuckle. "Or die trying."

You wake up, drowning in your ice-cold sweat as a gust of freezing air envelops you. Chkflip stands there, blood pouring from his mouth in streams. "Save me..." he whispers, reaching out for your hand. But that act was far too cumbersome for his weakened body, and he drops to the ground. Everything erupts into chaos. The bell begins ringing, and you flee from your room, looking everywhere for the moderator. There are shouts and screams as people are woken up and discover chk's lifeless form on your room's floor. But then, you hear a gunshot. The supervisor stands in the middle of you all, flaming gun in hand.

"Chk-!" you start.

"I know." he mutters. "Don't fail this time, and maybe they won't have the resources to do this again, huh?" Huge bags have formed under his eyes, and you'd gamble that he slept even less than you did.

Spoiler: Flavor

The next day, there was no hesitation. The corpses of chkflip and Sakako had not left the your minds, and you were determined to get their revenge today. Everyone was accused, but there was only one accusation that really stuck - the one on Kagetora, the man who was concerned about unnecessary deaths yesterday. No one believed he was telling the truth; he had to be bluffing. And so, you all converged on him, all of you with the express intent to kill. But just when you thought you had him, and evil glint flashed in Kagetora's eye, and a red aura flashed around him, pushing you all back. "Hahahahaha!" Kagetora laughed evilly, brandishing a massive sword. "You believe you have won? I am SILAVOR, the legendary!"

You redoubled your efforts, grabbing whatever items you could find to battle against his steel. But Silavor was impervious to anything you threw at him, and he pushed away your attacks with little effort, slashing your hands until you couldn't even hold your weapon anymore. He grabbed DarlaBlueEyes, pressing the cold steel of his blade against her neck. "Now, you all will let me leave, or the woman will die here." Silavor shouted, grinning evilly. Everyone backs off, raising their hands in the air to show no ill intent.

"There's only one problem with that." Darla announced, much to everyone's surprise.

Silavor cackled, unfazed. "And what is that, my dear?"

"You've broken the most basic of rules. Never bring a knife to a gunfight." In a flash, Darla was out of Silavor's grasp, was glowing green, and had become a frog holding an AK-47. The new being wasted no time in emptying his bullets into Silavor, but he still managed to deflect him with his red aura.

"Hoppster! I never would've expected to see you here... Nonetheless, you will DIE!" Silavor charged Hoppster, blade raised overhead and his eyes blazing with murderous intent. Hoppster answered with cool, calm eyes, his own aura roaring around him. He smashed his gun into Silavor's sword with all his might, knocking it out of his hands. The room was silent as the sword clattered to the ground and Silavor fell to his knees.

"It's over, Silavor."

"I've been... defeated. Is this really the end? After killing Maria, orchestrating the death of Sakako, and killing chkflip, I thought I would never lose. To think... you showed up. But... I now see. May god have mercy on my soul, I repent."

Hoppster's gun lit up, and Silavor slumped to the ground. It was over, the good guys had won. The mafia was dead, everyone was safe, everyone was safe, everyone was safe...

A few rooms away, Nacho the moderator listens as the delirious town killed yet another of their own, screaming of auras and swords and frogs wielding AK-47s. At this point, he's given up on the town finding the moles above him, and so he's making preparations for Maria's killers to make their move. He holds his pistol at his side and his knife in its holster.

He contemplates ripping up the passkey that would open up the doors to the Science Center for a moment, but later decides against it. He would give the town one more chance to eliminate the threat against them... But if they failed, then he and the mafia would die in the building he loved, together.

You wake up out of bed with a start, head throbbing.

You slowly get ready, slipping into your clothes and leaving the door. Silavor's corpse is on the ground, his limbs ripped from his body and an expression on his face that is mixed with terror and disgust. You shudder, but can't help but notice a pool of blood forming in the middle of the room that couldn't have come from silavor's body. You glance up on an instinct, and sure enough, you spot DarkFlashlight hanging above you, his neck in a noose and a bullethole in his forehead.

All of these sights do not terrify you; instead, they instill you with a quiet resolution. You will not allow yourself to be trampled by these renegades any longer. You will find the murderers in the Science Center, and you will bring them to justice. Your intellect is not hampered by cold insanity like the intellect of your killers, and so you will show them how to play cat and mouse.

I wouldn't say smart. You are allowed to not like me, but I'd rather you cut out the in-game hate insults.

I did stop, hence the [censored]. So why are you bringing that topic on the table ? What you are doing here is laughable, I am perfectly able to take criticism (whether constructive or not) but you are definitely trying to instrumentalize what I said in order to gain a game advantage. And it is really itching me to smack you down (Is that also insulting ?) for being a coward and saying you will do this and that. Why don't you do it now if you are so concern with it ? Or that's right, Nacho forbid it ... how convenient.

"You fucking bastard." Olinea's words were strong, poignant. He had drawn a knife he had held close to him the entire time, and was walking towards Hoppster with murderous intent.

"What the hell did I do?" Hoppster pleaded, a bit frustrated, all while reaching for the gun he held at his side.

"Don't play fucking dumb with me. You know exactly what you did..." Olinea lunged at Hoppster, the knife only being held back by the side of Hoppster's AK.

"Murder! Murder!" he squawked. "You're trying to make the final move to defeat the town! You're mafia! You killed her!" He shoved back the knife and knocked Olinea onto the ground, shoving the AK in his face. "Now repent before your death."

Olinea spat in his face, causing Hoppster to flinch just enough for Olinea to roll out of harm's way. Hoppster opened fire on Olinea, causing the man to run like hell in a zigzagged patterns, all of his accusations forgotten in the pursuit to live. But the bullets were halted suddenly by a cruel left hook from Otolia which managed to knock the gun out of his hands and knock him down to the floor. He began flailing wildly as Olinea quickly rushed to Otolia's aid, and helped the man hold the crazy down.

Olinea snarled as one of Hoppster's flying elbows smashed him in the face, breaking his nose. "Hurry, one of you! Finish him off! He killed Maria!"

Upon hearing this, Hoppster cracked. "Brother! Brother! Help me, brother! If you draw your weapons, we can win this! We can overpower them! Brother? Brother! Save me! Please brother, save me!"

Glass, who had been silent until the point, rose and began strolling towards Hoppster. He heard the footsteps, and began laughing. "Hear that? Brother is coming to save me. To save me. He will save me, yes he will. Brother loves me! Thank you, Brother! Thank you--"

"Cease your infernal chatter."

Olinea's knife buried itself in Hoppster's throat, killing the mafiate instantly. Glass sat back down, laying onto the floor and closing his eyes. "One down..." he muttered. "One more to go. After rest..."

The others, with a momentary glance at each other that was searching for signs of the last mafiate, all huddled on the floor around Glass. There was enough murder for the day; it was time for rest.

Glass awoke with a gloved hand over his mouth, and he immediately regretted his choice of sleeping arrangements. He made an effort to shout out, to struggle, to do anything, but this murderer was experienced; the second Glass even so much as twitched, crushing pressure was put on his neck.

"Gotta respect those guts, kid. Foolish, but ballsy. It's actually why I'm killing you, funny thing. Too afraid you might pull the same shit on me when we're out in the daylight."

The hand over his mouth let go, and Glass immediately screamed out for help as his entire body flew through the air and his spine cracked against the concrete wall.

"Don't bother, nobody will hear you. I just felt it fair you could see the face that killed you, even though you didn't afford my brother that same honor... Shame, really."

"Why didn't you save him, though? You could've killed me while the other two were focused on him, then the two of you could've overpowered them immediately..."

The man grabbed a pair of brass knuckles from the shelves. "Why? I hated him. Mother always loved him more."

Glass closed his eyes and the fist came flying for his face, but he was overcome by darkness before his eyelids could shut completely.
