I'd rather go with no total war, the playerlist is pretty damn good but I still don't think the extra nukes will be as helpful as having two days before nukes kick in- I'd expect at least 2-3 town on town nukes d1 coming from people nuking people who they think are suspecting them for bad reasons or nukes on townies for overly aggressive play. Plus assuming at least one of the first two lynches is on scum having total war would let them get a nuke off before dying, although that wouldn't be as big as a problem as it might otherwise be since there'd be enough nukes to take them out with a nuke too and not waste a lynch with it.

Also, don't do what Katsuki just did once it hits defcon 1, it was modkillable last game and it probably is this game too.

Looking at it marginally, total war adds an extra scum kill, potentially two sub kills one of which is the terrorist, and

at most five extra townie-driven nukes

which aren't guaranteed to hit scum and even if they do hit scum it's unlikely to provide as much information as 2 normal days to start off with.

I get that defensive mode can cover for scum that don't want to claim something else but defensive mode can be useful for not getting nuked by scum on their way out or for not getting dead if someone's super-tunneling on you but you think they're more likely town than not, plus if they need to prove it they can just change to offensive the next day and nuke the otherwise lynched target, am I missing something with why it's so terrible?

Oh, that does make the super-tunneling thing not apply since everyone can just yell at the person to cancel the nuke if it's bad.

Still think that if someone is hilariously obvtown then they should be able to use defensive mode but if they're that town then well they're town so we can all chill about it.

Fail Safe is worse than a missle silo in over 95% of situations (exceptions are scum with battleship and the protectee nukes you or probable scum claims fallout shelter since it goes through everything or dying n2) so you should really just go sub->missle or get something else instead like Magua suggested.

Katsuki if it's pretty obvious they're going to die, either from consensus the day before or from a cop investigation or a launched nuke or whatever there's nothing preventing them from nuking the towniest person in the game if the battleship is dead or in scum hands. Having one or two uber-towns in defensive mode could be really helpful for preventing that, and it'll probably be pretty obvious who the obvtowns are (hint: they probably nuked scum earlier)- if there's a non-obvtown in defensive mode then yeah it dies.

As scummy as Hez may sound this is actually Town-Hez, read through Jungle Republic and you'll notice he gets very aggresive and vengful when FoS'ed or voted by another player. Really disliking the rest of the back-and-forth between AV and Hez on page 15, AV comes out of it looking quite bad.

I went through about half of his Very long iso there. And I saw a hell of a lot of reads and thought put into those reads, despite being wrong in a lot of them.
Whereas HERE I see him attacking anyone who's attacking him and then going after the other lead wagon with almost no mentions of people who aren't attacking him.

And I don't think that Hez and AV are scum together- This vote does not read like a bus vote:

Reads I'm stealing from other people: Mina and Katsuki are both very likely town, though Mina kicks it up a notch to towntowntown. I can't see Mina's isos 5 and 6 coming from scum- the Faraday suspicion is a good one IMO and Mina's thought process with Vi is town. Katsuki read isn't quite as strong but I don't think she'd bring up the nobody gets counterintelligence plan as scum.


IS and Hez can both die and I've said why already- IFFFFFFF Hez actually starts being useful then IS can die before him but for me to make the if that big it would take up this entire page.

Faraday's part of swift justice isn't hitting any town notes. Well, he's hitting ONE of having a lot of the same reads that I do (mag/mina/kats town) but that's really not a towntell coming from him.

LLD's iso 4 wording still bugs me but the inhims stuff makes sense now- I'd probably put her in between null and leaning scum but I have more than enough categories already.

Mydarkestsecret-AV isn't a terrible lynch but he doesn't make any sense as Hez's buddy and his recent posts are decent- I'd also really like to hear everyone's reasons for the wagon because despite a lot of the wagoneers looking townie I would like to hear exactly why you think he's scum- I know a lot of you have said gut but explaining what posts give you the twitches at least would help a lot for either finding scum on his wagon or sniffing out bussers getting on.

@IS- His iso 5 suggesting we let scum have the sub and that espionage is useless if scum has counteresp is hella dumb, stretching Pooky's I'm America because ____ to be rolefishing was bad, and the biggest thing IMO is his post with hop onto the RC wagon- His stuff about the helpful counterwagon isn't bad but everything else he votes RC for is related to him in some way- It looks like he's more concerned with RC's reads and comments on him than with RC himself.
There's also some stuff other people have said with similarities to his play in Defcon 2 mafia but you'll have to ask them about that.

SK taking eavesdrop would be borderline retarded- it puts a big pretty nightkill target on his back and gives up getting something actually useful for someone that needs to kill 'em all. Gorilla isn't SK.
Still think Gorilla isn't europe because of stuff in my iso 61 plus how little he has to go on from eavesdrop- if you're going to take espionage as scum just make up 10 or so scrambled messages to make yourself look better, maybe even try to incriminate other players in them. He knew that only having one result would look bad so he breadcrumbed that instead of just making up stuff to make himself look better. it...doesn't though. That's normally a towntell for a reason- because most scum will try to avoid bussing, especially in the early game unless there's a big solid case against a scum partner. I got the aircraft carrier. I've used it on Toog both nights since his counterintelligence can't ever have a town benefit and to try to get a better read on him- I'm pretty damn sure that scum would have used counterintelligence by now if they had it so they can talk freely for one day+night before or during all the bombs falling. If they HAD used it by now then they would have dropped a few unencoded messages while they thought they had a free day of talking either yesterday or today- instead all the messages are still encoded and we've even seen a pretty coded public leak today.
Therefore unless you think that they still think they would talk in code even when they think absolutely no one can listen in (this didn't happen) or toog decided to not use counterintelligence until half of his scumteam is dead (this also didn't happen) Toog is town.

Setup-wise I'd probably take out 3 townies and remove one of the three things from fail-safe (death-nuke, unblockability, automatic retaliation nuke). Having all 3 basically makes it so mafia HAS to either to try to lynch it like Pooky did here or take it out early with a nightkill that probably has much better places to go, otherwise risking a terrorist win even if the mafia is one of the last two people alive.
