They've dug in their heels and seem to want to paint me as some kind of word twisting, lawyer dog that can't be trusted. I think that's a pretty common smear campaign scum use, and I get vibes of their play in WWF Road to Wrestlmania when I had them pegged as scum and they claimed I was misrepresenting their play and blah blah. They even used the same "twisting our words" argument in that game. It's poppycock frankly.

The VP head of Crab cannon is freaking EXCELLENT when he is scum, at taking an argument, twisting it on it's head and making it a personal battle. This is what has happened in this game and it is also what happened in Pie E7 mark II. That will provide meta for three players in this game cause Vi is also in there. But it starts from post six where we start to pressure VP right away and if you read though you'll see how quick things get messy.

I'm not interested in playing that all over again. The game got bogged down and everyone got all shitty and crabby (har har) but yes.

I've seen the sotty and ace wagon. I find neither more scummy than GNR.
Their lynches aren't going to be informative either because:

Wow. Springlullaby just gained a 4 vote wagon in just over a page, for lurking. She has been lurking all game. This feels very much like a distraction from either ace or sotty.

At this stage, I'd have thought scum would have more reason to go for one of the other wagons to avoid their lynch, rather than sit on an unpopular lurker wagon. Still really not seeing where this spring wagon came from.

First I'd like someone to explain to me what the mason/neighbor thing is about: am I correct in understanding that Vi is claiming neighbor/mason with GNR? Whom she has asked to post her thoughts?

Secondly I ll reply to Vi in detail when I get to a computer this night. Short: Vi, you are correct in thinking that I was leaning on you being scum as I stated plainly in my wall post, but I think my points and pressure of you have been adequate. You have been posting rainbow ponies and deriding all my simple questions to you prior to even your vote on me. I read that as scum passive provocation, because you know that I'm _awesome_.I'm still circumspect of you because, well, I know for a fact that you are wrong about me, but yes I think you are very unlikely to be scum now and that I have been wrong.

Let's first point out that ace is correct in her posts being contentless prior to appearing. In addition, it's fairly suspect that she's only choosing to enter the arena close to deadline, instead of actually trying to hunt scum. I'm aware that she prefers to lurk, but in Tofu Mafia she was actually candid and a thorn in the side of the scum who I was glad (as scum) to see replaced. This time, it's more likely that she actually is scum.

I thought ace's play was fine up until his SL vote. About the SL vote, I still think this:

Yeah, I agree with CC about ace. He put up a post saying SL was active lurking, unlike Locke. This to justify a "leaning scum" read. By his logic, lurking instead of active lurking shouldn't have made her more scummy - and she hasn't posted since then. Now he thinks she's scum, and is prepared to switch off a wagon he's supported strongly to vote her. Feels like ace is prepared to massively compromise on the quality of the lynch to increase his chances of saving his own skin.

Then ace unvoted spring, on the basis of the wall post, with no analysis of it. The way he jumps on the wagon when it's got lots of momentum (3 quick votes), and jumps off it again when it stalls,

fits perfectly with scum

driving anything that isn't him. ace is also a great candidate to have killed sotty - I can't see anyone else in the game who would have had any motivation to do so.

@Anxiety: in Post 600 you criticise CC, and you say the reason for doing this is because he was the first to call you scum. Why is him calling you scum a reason to make unrelated points against him? This looks like a very pure form of OMGUS.
The read on SL - "either a VT or possibly third party" - is pretty bad. I just don't see anyone actually having that read on SL - where did it come from, Anxiety? Also, Anxiety now says he doesn't have to justify the read because it was right. This is wrong, and also reveals that Anxiety thinks that he should get towncred from calling a town lynch correctly - which would fit very nicely with

him being scum

calling a flip he already knew.
His latest post is horrible - without any real reason, he paints ace as flailing scum and saul as a defending buddy. This is just flinging mud around.

. I roleblocked Anxiety last night. Given two BPs and the SR kill, I'm strongly suspecting scum missed their kill last night - I doubt we only have one kill, and I doubt the scum would shoot SR. Me blocking Anxiety isn't the only explanation for a missed kill - Vi being shot at by a scumteam not including GNR is the other obvious one - but it's certainly one explanation, and that makes him more likely scum. It also makes him a much better lynch than GNR. Because if GNR is scum, then scum wouldn't shoot at Vi (or indeed GNR), and so we need another explanation for a missed kill.

Fourth, the Saul post. Saulres has played the newbie card consistently throughout this game. But sometimes he shows these glimpses of a person who really knows what is going on. I know the newb card well. I played it very often until it got to the point where it wasn't going to fly anymore. Tell me, does a newbie really ask the question "do you know if your bulletproof vest is hit or not?". I don't think they do. I think a newbie doesn't even think about that. It reads as if someone has told them the details of their role and he is trying to ask a question that makes him look "confused" if and when GNR gets lynched. As for my stances on the Vi/Riggs/Ace shenanigans, I did give some stances, although they were more scumhunting statements other than definitive statements. But there isn't too much to take a stance on. As far as I can see, this is all just setup speculation, and really we have nothing more to go on than what is being funneled from Ace, Vi, and GNR. There is not much to go on, and I would not like to act upon the mechanical events that have been claimed to have transpired.

In the ace/vi/riggs mess, he never commented on it, really, to give STANCES. He just showed a keen interest in roles and left conclusions up in the air. Pretty scummy.

Oh and Vi, I absolutely loved your post restriction. I know it was annoying and you couldn't communicate for shit but it was so fun to read.

Apparently I was only slightly less understandable than normal

I originally just wanted to play around; the restriction started becoming an issue when I actually wanted to convince people to do anything. I lucked out a LOT with ace and Riggs getting somewhat forced into being my interpreter. Beyond that, I would have had to become one of those semi-lurker sorts who places a vote down and acts obstinate 80% of the time.

I screwed up D3 muchly much by encouraging all of the setup speculation. I apologize, but I didn't really know what to expect from a four-scum Limited Reveal game with only one successful kill in two Nights. I really should have kept my predictions more grounded.

4nxi3ty - To be entirely honest I think you could have rode a 2dumb4scum persona to the endgame. What really started making you ping as scum IMO was when you started playing to be serious once it looked like scum were getting the upper hand. But, live, learn, etc.

I'm willing to be patient with the new players because I can see that they all genuinely wanted to play/win, and I remember fully well when I was new and incredibly bad at the game - I only lynched scum by joining deadline wagons I opposed all Day. Or maybe that was me two months ago. Time is relative and etc.

Overall I'm pleased, DDD. You don't mod games often AFAIK, but this one delivered well. Thanks to the players for doing their best as well

As to my "retirement" -- again, I thank you for your support saying that I shouldn't. The thing is, it's not my feeling that I'm not a good player and having so many losses before the last two wins (yay!). It's that, as you can probably tell, I overthink things too much. And by that, I mean I'm thinking about them

That's the only time I've been scum, and I'm saddened by that. I'm jealous of Riggs, who got to talk to 4 different people outside of the game thread, about the game, all game long if he played his cards right.

VP, in the dead thread you said to me "Lynch the obvious scum." I'm not sure what made Snake obvious to you, because there were also things about Amrun which seemed scummy, at least to me -- as much as Snake's hammers seemed like a scumtell, Amrun's first three lynch vote placements seemed just as damning.

In the end it comes down to what's most plausible. That in turn requires you to know what scum are more likely to do. Although I can't blame you for wanting to lynch Amrun

As for that last question - Contrary to the (admittedly plausible) theory that I've been engaging in a 3+ year long prank, I have personal reasons for not doing so.

Actually Vi is and always be a Unix text editor in my book. I don't even say it as a word. I always say "V" "I" because that is what I call my text editor!!!

True story: Before I came to this site, I found that I preferred Vim to Emacs. I got lost in the Ctrl-<button> combinations within a good thirty seconds.
