You've always suspected that there were mafia in your town. You've heard the rumors and hushed whispers of secret nocturnal dealings, mysterious disappearances, and unexplainable cash exchanging hands. You've seen the Wanted posters by the police station, pictures of brutal murderers who would not hesitate to shoot in cold blood. You've kept your mouth shut in fear of being the next person to be silenced.

That is... until you opened the newspaper this morning to find an ad placed by the local friendly mafia godfather.

Good citizens,

For many years, I have presided over this organized crime syndicate that you have fondly dubbed "the Mafia." I have watched my staff seize control of towns all over the country and then use them as branches of business. I have watched many towns try to fight back by lynching anyone they deem suspicious. It has been a rather amusing show to watch, I must admit.

However, I have grown bored of the old routine. Therefore, as a special favor to you, I will strike you a deal. If you can find and kill two of my goons, I will remove my operations from your town and raise a

white flag

to signal my surrender. Until then, for every goon you eliminate, I will raise a

red flag

to let you know of your success; for every townsperson you lynch, I will raise a

black flag

to let you know of your mistake. Keep in mind that the consequences of your ultimate failure will be very dire, indeed...

General

1. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Use of homophobic, racist, sexist, or any other derogatory slurs falls under this rule.
2. Do not communicate about this game outside of this thread or any mod-sanctioned channels. Similarly, do not discuss other ongoing games.
3. Do not quote any private communication to which you have access. This includes PMs and QuickTopics. You are allowed to paraphrase.
4. If it is not visible to the naked eye, do not post it. This includes, but is not limited to, invisible text, small text, encrypted text, and text hidden within tags. Spoiler text, however, is allowed.
5. If you have the ability to edit posts, do not edit. Use an EBWOP, or think before you post. Feel free to ask me in-thread if you need a tag corrected.
   
6. I guarantee that all text posted in this color is mine!
   Do not use any shades of yellow or gold. All other formatting is fair game.
7. If you feel I've made an error in the vote count or something similar, bold your concern in the thread (e.g.,
   Mod: I actually voted for Equinox!
   ). Please PM me for all other issues.

Activity

1. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are considered 48 hours for both activity checks and deadlines.
2. If you anticipate being away for 48 hours or longer, please post a
   V/LA notice
   in the thread with the expected date of your return.
3. If you do not post for 72 hours, I will officially prod you. Players may request prods after 48 hours of inactivity. Following an official prod, you have 24 hours to make a game-related post or to let me know of a V/LA. If I do not see an appropriate response, I will seek a replacement.
4. You will not receive a fourth official prod. I'll just replace you.

Day

1. Days will last 14 days.
2. Lynches occur through simple majority (50% of living players + 1, rounded down). If no majority is reached at deadline or there is a majority of votes for No Lynch, the day will end without a lynch.
3. Votes must be on a separate line, flushed left, and bolded (e.g.,
   Vote: Equinox
   ). Unvotes are preferred but not necessary when switching votes (e.g.,
   Unvote, Vote: Equinox
   ). Use of the vote tags is optional.
4. Once majority is reached, no further votes or unvotes will count.
5. All players, including the lynched player, are allowed to discuss during twilight phase.
6. Dead players may make one "Bah!" post that consists of only the word "Bah!" Everything else gets deleted.

Night

1. Nights will last 72 hours.
2. If I do not receive your action by deadline, your action is forfeited. You may submit ahead of time; you can also make as many changes as necessary, and at deadline I will take the last action you submitted.
3. For
   all
   replacements that take place during this phase, I will extend deadline by 24 hours.

I reserve the right to add, modify, or remove rules as necessary. I will notify you of all changes in the thread. Feel free to PM me if anything in the rules is unclear.
