Argh, I meant to point out in my first post that my avatar is not any kind of claim, and some of you should be able to vouch for me that I've had it since I joined the site. Ugh, I am so fucking retarded, I'd been planning to say that for days now and then forgot when the thread finally open.
So there, it's said, I just wanted to head off any potential claim accusation.-

@ implosion, no, that is a misread of my post. Go back and read it in context.
Fate voted for podium reacting to a joke/rvs vote.
Podium responds saying he didn't understand it was a joke and that he's not used to Fate's style.
I agreed with podium saying I also didn't read it as a joke, but that maybe that's just because I'm always paranoid Day 1. In short, I don't find podium scummy because he reacted the same way I did.-

@MoI,
Sorry, by no claims I meant, lets not discuss the merits of mass claims. The standard L-1 with a willing hammerer claim is fine by me and should happen as usual. And it should involve both name and role.
However, as somebody who recently ran a game with fake claims given to the scum, I will not tolerate much in the way of whether a name claim is believable or not.
As for my 'surprising' reaction, chalk it up to being sick of being a day 1 wagonee, clearly now I see it was my paranoia.-

@MOI, could you link me that game that you referred to, I've lost track of all my old games.
As I remember, me being proactive and leading that charge didn't work out so well for town.
I'd argue that I'm still proactive to a degree, I took an early stance on claiming, for example.
As for VB's concern about scum self hammering, or a quick lynch. These are both useful temptations for the town to use on scum. We make it very clear as soon as the wagon hits L-1 or even as it approaches. Anybody who hammers quickly is held responsible for that, regardless of flip.
This site's view on L-2 claiming is that it's often over used as rolefishing.-

I'm approaching voting for podium too. This original points aren't really pinging my scumdar, but his reaction is. It feels like a bit like "but you shouldn't have caught me for that!"
I'll think on it over the weekend.
Also, I'll be limited access this weekend, but I'll have my phone, which tends to mean reading, not writing.-

Who the hell are you to tell me if I don't like somebody's play style?
I have read all of his posts, and I still find him to be far less forthcoming and open than I like my town to be. He has a level of "well I don't care if you can't follow what I'm saying" that I really dislike. However, due to his posts, it's moved from "is this somebody just hopping on a wagon and avoiding direct questions" to "he's a bit of a jerk".
But whatever, if you think I'm bussing Podium, lets look at it after the flip.-

To me, these are reading increasingly more as you engaging in a discussion as to why the 'scum tells' are justified, rather than why you aren't scum.podium123456 wrote:

Sheesh... i just solved everything you have against me right there.
Next dilemma.-

@ Fate, I think I agree with you, that I would read my play as scummier if Podium flips town. However, i was reading you as implying we were scum buddies, I'll admit that. Maybe it's just because I was aware we defended each other (and attacked our respective attackers) earlier in the day.
Also on the Vibe front, I've been wavering on my scum read of him for days. But I kept it to myself, which is what I tend to do with wavering scum reads. I don't like to announce them until I've decided to put my vote somewhere else, because otherwise it weakens any pressure gained by the vote.-

Podium, I agree. GW's case seems to be that you knew the breadcrumb was a joke/lie and wanted to bring it up to store it and use it later.
While you're waiting for that, can you please respond to the inconsitencies that fate has pointed out.
This is a precise example of "debating the tells" that I'm talking about. Your defence is all about other people's arguments, not about your actions and alignment.-

I'm looking forward to seeing it myself.
But on a more serious note, VV is discussing with Vibe the exact issue I have with Vibe. He's not assisting the town but just assuming that his thoughts are understood. I want Vibe to be more transparent (I like everybody to be)-

But my first comment still stands, it's not just those quotes. Your attitude the whole time has been "you can't find me scummy for those things" as opposed to "I'm not scum".
Anyway, this is getting circular, I recommend that the three of us stop posting until all other players have contributed.
This is with the exception of podium responding to his inconsistencies.-

Actually Fate, there was a response to the contradiction. He denies it exists.
Also, I'm serious about the OMGUS case on me. If it was an actual case on me it would involve other posts I've made, and he'd probably look into who else finds me guilty to find more evidence to hang me with. But he doesn't. He openly admits he hasn't looked at why Fate finds me guilty. Instead it's "I don't like why you find me guilty, so you must be guilty!"-

Calling somebody an idiot, or mentally retarded for their opinions and arguments is fine by me, but implying that something is "bad" by saying it's homosexual is pretty offensive, so lets try and avoid that shall we?podium123456 wrote:

Okay, I've done as much of a reread as I'm going to do, I'm still happy with a podium lynch.
I see that Fate is suspicious that I didn't chime in when he saw me online. I was at my parent's place all weekend, any time I was viewed online was me reading the two games I'm in on my phone. I said that before I went on V/LA.
Can somebody sum up the implosion case? Is it basically him saying podium might be a jester? I've never played a game with a jester before so I have no idea how discussions about them work.
I've seen some questions asked of me, but none of them seem very important.
There's a general accusation of podium and I being scum buddies. I can't refute that we defended each other early, whether or not you read that as a scum tell is up to you. As for my jump onto his wagon, again, it's all about whether you believe me, but I'll spell out my thought process a little more clearly.
I was voting for Vibe. I did this because I hate people who vote without reason. It's hard to get reads, they can claim later what their motives were, etc. It was the scummiest thing I'd seen so far, and I stand by the fact that I didn't find podium's reaction to the 'breadcrumb' votes or his defence of me that scummy.
Then podium started to react and it drew my attention. I waited and watched a little while because a)podium had plenty of pressure and was reacting to it, and b)I didn't want to take the pressure off of Vibe just yet. Podium's recent accusation that if I don't like players who aren't forthcoming and open, then I was being dodgy myself isnt' quite apt. I don't like players who aren't open or forthcoming about their votes. If I was posted "I'm wavering on my vibe vote" before I was ready to do so, that would remove the whole point of voting for him. After that, I voted for podium and haven't regretted it since.
So most accusations of me being scum seem to involve me being scum with podium (unless I"ve missed something).
Those accusations are based on early defence of each other and then later wagoning of each other. Again, let me know if I've missed something.-

Podium, your inconsistencies were the ones that Fate repeatedly quoted. I don't see what was unclear about that. Do I have to quote them too to be able to refer to them?
At the time I voted for you, I was getting the vibe from you, and I think my quotes do highlight that, that you were annoyed at what was being used as the reasons for calling you scum, rather than being called scum. Since then, your general flailing and poor scum hunting has further confirmed you as scum to me.
As for the second half of your vibebox comment. Even with Vibe's other posts, he still read to me with an attitude of "I'll tell you what I want to tell you, when I want to tell you it" and that annoys me.
We still don't have Butterfly posting at all, do we?I sent him a second prod telling him that either he starts posting pronto or I replace him. We'll see what happens...-

I admit that my staying on podium is a little lazy, but I do genuinely find him scummy. Just because other people have been satisfied with his explanation of his behaviour or have moved on does not mean I have to. To just label it as "spaghetti flinging" is not apt. When you consider that over half the posts in this game are podium's, and that his attitude bounces back and forth depending on his mood, it's difficult to address all of it at once. And it's also incorrect to do so. Just because he calmed down at some point does not mean that his early ranting and flailing wasn't a scum tell. It's just a scum tell before a good night sleep.
And I genuinely find it hard to see anything past podium, there's just so god damn much of it.
But anyway, I'm not going to post much in this game until the players we haven't really heard from actually contribute. So that's Vibe, MoI, GW and of course our replacements, which I assume the Butterfly must be by now? Surely?-

MoI, I like the way you post, I'm not trying to get you to spam the thread. I included you in my list of "people who I want to post more before the rest of us post more" because you had promised a particular post. What I'd really like to happen is that the replacements come in and get caught up before we go too much further. Today has already been a relatively heavy posting Day 1 for a mini. I don't want us to get to a place where replacements refuse to read because the count is too high.
Since I'm probably as guilty of tunneling podium as anybody, I'm going to look over implosion while I wait for others to post.
Also, just for clarity. In the AGM game, from memory, I didn't think I'd caught scum with deer. Other people kept interpreting my comment as catching scum. I was simply saying that people should avoid making 'fluff' statements like "interesting" when they should be saying "looks scummy" "looks town" "suggests a relationship between A and B" or whatever.
Could somebody link that game? I lost all my pre-server-change games.-

Zdenek is the one that has been posting.
Zinive hasn't posted since the second flavour post.
UT is currently looking for a replacement for Zinive, but hasn't mentioned the Butterfly, who hasn't posted all game despite apparently confirming.
So we have two slots who haven't contributed at all. Which is a fair portion in a 12 man game.-

I think Vibebox's post was one of the scummiest I've seen so far.
Why vote somebod who isn't one of your scum reads when, not only do you have scum reads, but one of your scum reads is a substantial wagon (i.e. Me)?
The reason given is just as scummy, why, just because you have a town read on somebod, do you give up your own reads to sheep them? Town does not mean he's right, it just means he's town.
unvote. vote Vibebox
also, implosion, my vote on you was largely to increase the pressure on you to post since there had been the accusation that you were lurking.
I've got meetings this morning, but will post more this afternoon.-

I've seen scum claim to be experimenting with a new style, apologise and then try to play nice. Then they flip scum, hey MoI?
I'm going to be V/LA all weekend, and my grandfather just died. Unfortunately my V/LA destination, unlike last weekend, is sans-3G, so unless I get some internet access some other way I'll be gone til Monday.
unvote. vote implosionI think they're scummy independently of each other, but I also think they are buddies. If implosion gets lynched, at this stage, I'll be pushing for vibe's lynch tomorrow.
"Oh no, Seacore is setting up a lynch for tomorrow, that's so scummy"
No, I'm merely stating my current strong belief that these two are scum, and likely scum together.-

Actually, we're only half way through our 3 week Day 1, so I change that, I don't accept a claim under Zdenek's "will hammer at deadline" post.
Day 1 started 16 Nov, + 3 weeks, Day 1 will end 7 Dec
That's 11 days away. So until somebody is at L-1, and another person is holding the hammer, no claiming.-

Podium.
The ONE alternative to implosion's claim when it happened was for us to WAIT 9 days, because none of the rest of us were willing to move, and THEN have the claim.
That would not have been good.
5 people voting for implosion + 2 people willing to - 2 people who aren't playing this game (the flakers) means there was no other option.-

I'll just quickly respond to RC's issues with me, since it looks like we're on our way to good VB lynch.
Seacore 6 - I didn't articulate it well, so I had to clarify later, but I was trying to avoid an early character claim. I pushed for one in A Game of Thrones mafia run by faraday and it was a huge mistake, and I've learned from that.
Seacore 23 - I was referring to #8 in this post, not #6. I just wanted to avoid any waste of time that could come from someone saying my avatar might have been chosen specifically after getting the role. It was one of those posts that I was planning to make in the large length of time between getting the role PM and the thread opening.
Seacore 76 - I was responding directly to both comments about my previous meta, and comments from people not used to the site about when claiming was appropriate, I don't see a problem here.
Seacore 128 - Way to read out of context. I had previously been one of podium's defenders, declaring that his reaction to the breadcrumbing/rvs votes wasn't scummy However, I was starting to find his reaction to his own wagon scummy. Unless it's for a specific purpose, I like to post what I'm thinking, I like being transparent.
Also, if you've stopped at 176, you've missed just a little.-
