Special Rules - Please Read Carefully!
0. Game starts with the election of the first DICTATOR. Players should use the tags:
elect: playername
and
unelect: playername
. The first player to reach a majority of votes becomes the first DICTATOR. The deadline to this is 7 days. If no majority is reached at the deadline, the player with plurality is the DICTATOR. If there is a tie, the player who reached that number of votes first is the DICTATOR.
1. Each day will last a maximum of 25 real-life days, or 600 real-life hours, which is approximately 3.5 weeks.
2. The DICTATOR is the only person who has the power to decide who is executed for each day. When the DICTATOR has reached a decision, he or she should post
execute: playername
. Each day ends when there is an execution. The earliest time the DICTATOR can execute a player is 48 hours after the start of each day. If nobody is executed by the deadline, nothing happens and night ensues.
3. Each day, every player has one attempt to overthrow the DICTATOR. A player attempting an overthrow should post
overthrow: DICTATOR
. Each day's first attempt to overthrow has a 10% base chance of success, 2nd attempt 25%, 3rd attempt 40%, 4th attempt 55%, etc. This means the 7th attempt and any attempts therafter has 100% chance of success.
4. The chances of an overthrow's attempt can be increased if the DICTATOR is being prodded. The formula is (Number of days rounded down since DICTATOR's prod) * 10%. For example if the DICTATOR has been inactive for 2 days since a prod, the 3rd overthrow attempt would be 40% + 2 * 10% = 60%.
5. If an overthrow attempt is successful, the old DICTATOR becomes a regular player and the overthrower is the new DICTATOR. The day would continue as normal. The new DICTATOR cannot execute anyone until 24 hours after the successful overthrow.
6. The DICTATOR may not attempt to overthrow himself or herself.
7. The DICTATOR may choose at any time, day or night to step down from power and abdicate. This should be done by posting or PMing me
abdicate
. The abdicating DICTATOR may choose a successor by posting or PMing me
successor: playername
. A new DICTATOR will be determined as soon as possible after an abdication. If a successor is chosen, the successor has a 50% chance of becoming the new DICTATOR while all other players have equal chances for the rest of the 50%. If no successor is chosen, the next dictator will be randomly selected.
8. Whoever is the DICTATOR at the end of each day gets to choose one of two abilities for the ensuing night: bulletproof vest or control of the secret police. The bulletproof vest provides immunity all kill attempts and the secret police may be used to kill one player. Also, the DICTATOR may choose a successor in case the DICTATOR dies that night. If the DICTATOR survives the night, he or she is still the DICTATOR at the start of the next day. If the DICTATOR dies that night, the same methodology as the abdication process will be used to determine the new DICTATOR.
9. If only two players remain at the end of the game and they are of different alignments, the player who is the DICTATOR and the associated alignment wins.
10. There may be EXCEPTIONS to any of the above rules.
