This take, tbh, is a little odd to me. We have GuyInFreezer saying they have 3 (? correct me if I'm wrong) townreads based on the first few pages, whereas you are saying you got pretty much nothing from this. Why are two players getting such different takeaways here?

To be fair, if he’s experienced he probably can pick up on things I can’t. I’m learning, especially how things are done on this forum. If anyone is getting meta-based reads from the first few pages, I can safely say that I wouldn’t be able to agree or disagree with those just based on not understanding certain metas yet. But to reiterate, I can’t give any actual reads at the moment, I’m just observing. There are a few people I vibe with in terms of the way they post but that doesn’t mean I read them as town yet, just that I’ll enjoy reading their posts more than others.

I do have a funny anecdote about my first experience with him(and a follow up experience).

He, and another player, both faked a cop guilty on me that led to my lim.......and because of fate's cruel breath I was actually scum caught in a crazy gambit by two townies.

Not long after that he did hammer town in in a game where I pulled so much shit out of my ass to win as scum, so I am grateful that he subbed in at the right time(tbf though, I was viewed as 'obv town', but the game was dragging and I was starting to get worried)

So while he can be a troll, he isn't all bad(and he actually has put in some effort here, believe it or not)

Oh I’m 0% locked that they’re BOTH scum. I think I’m 99% locked one is. I think the other is in my town reads. I’m null on Fancy, no clear read there yet. It’s possible they’re both bad but I highly doubt it.

It's really hard to move onto other suspects when we still have NM and the Snow slot in the game - it might be the case that they are both scum, I've had games like that before.

Well I can say you’re wasting your time looking at me. I’m not sure how to prove it to you when one of the reasons you sus me is because our reads line up. But if the only way to get you off my back is to drastically shift where my head is at, I’m not going to do that. It would be unfortunate if we eliminate Snow and he flips town, as he is actually contributing meaningful content, whereas Not_Mafia will never do so, and if he ever makes it to melo then then game is lost anyway if he's town.

I also don't think Snow's catch-up is nearly as bad as is being made out. I think his response has been calm and balanced, not in the least survivalistic, and I think he made some decent points. It's never easy catching-up in a game, especially when everyone already thinks you're scum.

Actually…I think this makes the most sense to me. I can see pushback against both N_M and snow and honestly we won’t feel great no matter who we eliminate if they flip town so at this point it’s 50-50.

I was technically the only one originally on N_M until they self voted. I went off to vote gob but went back after Jack joined. Their self-vote made any subsequent votes after mine a wagon. Especially with so little people in the game. If anyone is to blame for a wagon on N_M, I think most of the fault is in them keeping a self-vote on while they (obviously and loudly) wait to hammer the real wagon. I got off to avoid any hammers anywhere until we got more input.

The train of thought I'm following is of course loose, I'm not in his head but I don't see the "jumping to conclusions" which I believe you're scum-reading that part of his posts to be all that scummy at all. Drew was behaving incredibly loose towards Roland, his posts were directly showcasing that much. He said as much in his post that he wanted to just see what happens, test the waters. Which coincides with his previously loose posting. Can you not see progression there?

Kay, don't worry. It's my 2nd game here as well, so you should not treat my thoughts on you as very authoritative. And I think I never called you locked scum.

I simply feel that you avoid confrontation, try to look good and nice, call people town, see conflicts as TvT, target not active players who can hardly respond. I really disliked your criticism of RN in 602 and 605. And not just because I am in his slot now. He was an easy target as player here, his message to put it mildly was not ideal and was subject to fair criticism, but why would a town player of your style jump on him as you did? To prove that you are active and brave? Looked like a posturing.

What really stops me from pushing you is that you could have been in team with Roland (who was sus for me, but his slot went up on my scale) and I don't see you in team with Drew or Jackson (who are going down). And yes, you can be a newbie townie whose mislim would not give a lot in terms of overall picture.

I’m sorry about my tone in those 2 posts. I had just finished working a 46 hour in 3 days work trip and then had an exhausting travel day home and was probably just being extra irritable. Though this is only my second game, RN is someone I have experience with so my reaction was stronger because his actions confused me a LOT and it made no sense to me. I think I was a bit peeved that in a game of 9, 3 were either trolling or not taking it seriously at the time (gob, RN, N_M) and I’m just really invested in these games.

And if it seems like I’m avoiding confrontation, it’s probably true but that’s more of something my therapist should be looking at as it’s not exclusive to these games lol

You’re not voting me because the only people that would jump on that wagon are: snow - your biggest scum read which would make your argument against me seem pretty silly, and N_M who is trolling the game. Not the best allies, if you ask me.
