Seraphim, Beloved Host, died peacefully in his sleep Night 2
And just like that, he was gone. The host that they had come to rely on for all the important information, for all the supicious quotes that kept them on edge, and for all the information he had provided over the time they spent locked in this God-forsaken place... Seraphim had checked out. Permanently. It must've taken them hours to find his body, arranaged neatly under some bedsheets. It was the 66th room on the 6th floor. Perhaps this was supposed to hold some meaning, but to the guests, well, it was more of a nuisance than anything else.
Another servant at this hellish hotel, RedCoyote, had taken his place, informing the remaining patrons what was going on after this long, long night.
DemonHybrid, Town Villager, heart stopped Night 2
So the town lost an innocent patron. His heart had stopped and, well, at least they could be thankful that it was a seemingly peaceful death. The Host and the guest DemonHybrid were gone, but the tragic news didn't stop there. As if that weren't bad enough, the town searched hopelessly for their friend zwet. Knowing that he may have visited someone else at night, it was important for him to speak up and let them know what he took part of last night.
zwetschenwasser, Town Neighbor Vigilante -
Shawshank Neighborhood
, slashed from throat to balls Night 2
Such a gruesome scene. And just when they thought it couldn't get any worse...
Looker, Town Gunsmith, suffered from a .45 to the back of the head Night 2
This hotel was a cursed place, that much was certain. The forces of evil must be stopped now, today, if the innocent guests were to have any chance of getting out of this place alive.
Day 3 begins momentarily...

Although I'm effectively taking over the game, I will try my best to Mod this just like Seraphim did (except I'll be here, of course ). With that said, I don't plan on changing any of the rules to suit my tastes, so don't worry about anything like that. Good luck, everyone.

Damnit. What an absolute disaster. Not even a page into the game and I've already made a terrible mistake. I need to nip this in the bud right now. This was not Snake's fault or anyone else's. This was all me. I gave Snake incorrect results. This wasn't a rushed error or anything, just a flat out mistake. There's no way to alter this without making an announcement to the thread, given the role claim. I apologize for that.

"I'm not fussed if you lynch me," Snake began, "maybe it will help you gets some leads on real scum!"
*silverbullet scratches his chin for a moment, then grabs one of Snake's arms.*
"Meh..." said evilpacman, unenthusiastically.
There was no sense in waiting any longer. Even though some of the players were away, the day was drawing to a close. Nero Cain and CoolDoG had been taken out to the back in the damp, old hotel. They lay in the kitchen's freezer along with boxes of canned meats, jarred fruits, vegetables, sauces, and jams, waiting patiently for someone to join them. The building lived up to it's name, the hallways reeking of death and despair. Together, a majority of guests hung SnakePlissken from a makeshift gallows. The large wooden beams that crossed the towering lobby area were more than enough to hold the weight of a dead man.
*thunk*
A couple of people turned away, but the reality of killing grew ever easier on the remaining group of people. volkkan reached over to search Snake's lifeless body. A set of binoculars, a notebook with a few notes about his targets, a small, concealable camera... and a Sombra Corporation lapel pin. This is just like the one found on Espeonrage.

Antihero, Town Hider, clutching at his punctured stomach Night 3
All he was afraid of was being alone. All he wanted was to be with someone at night. He wasn't a bad guy either. Sure, it was a little unsettling for him to sneak into your room at night, but he didn't do anything creepy; he always left the room exactly how it was when you went to sleep. Only a truly sick individual would kill a person this friendly... but who was this next to him? The face was completely mutilated. In fact, they had to open up his jacket just to identify the body...
silverbullet999, Town Tracker, sliced and diced with a cutting device Night 3
His notebook and magnifying glass, and other investigative tools were taken from his corpse. The rest of the town began to gather up at the lobby once more, mulling over another tragic night after such a promising day.

volkkan, LynchMePls, curiouskarmadog, and evilpacman began wrapping up a new rope from the lobby ceiling.
lewarcher looked around uncomfortably. rudeboy hadn't even woken up yet, and already the guests were calling for PranaDevil to give himself up. "still good with my vote", curiouskarmadog said as LynchMePls began tapping his foot. lewarcher held strong though, it wasn't he who gave the final nod. With Jack's approval, the group hoisted the somber PranaDevil onto the chair. With one swift kick,
*thunk*
gravity was still working properly. LynchMePls began sifting through all of his belongings, looking for the sure sign that PranaDevil was an enemy presence in this hotel. A watch, some change, and, oh a memo from the Sombra Corporation.
Congratulations on your promotion! Sombra has decided that your contributions to the company have been above and beyond our normal standards, so they have elevated you to your current level. You are now qualified to lead a hit squad...

Lightning flashes across the dark, empty room. A crack is heard in the far distance.
*flash* 1...2...3... *crack*
Jack laid still. Cold, icy rain pitterpattered on the large window outside his room. He couldn't sleep. He hadn't been able to really sleep since he got here. He was always tempted to jump up and scream at the shadows. The killings always happened at night, he thought to himself. Sure, he was a killer himself at this point, but it was justified, right? He looked outside for a second when he saw another flash in the corner of his eye.
*flash* 1...2...*crack* *squeakkkk...*
Jack shot up and looked around. His pupils widened even more as he scanned the room over. It didn't make sense that everyone stayed away from one another, but, then again, he wouldn't want to be trapped in a room with a murderer either. He didn't get out of bed. He forced himself to stay in bed. His body was just too exhausted; it needed rest.
*flash* 1...*crack*
Jack closed his weary eyes one last time. Trying desperately to pretend everything was alright.
*flash* *crack* *stab* *squirt* *SLAM!*

Just a reminder that a2rudeboy told me during the previous night phase that he did not want to replace out. Obviously if he doesn't post soon however, I'll start looking.

pacman rocked silently in his chair. He sat in his corner, refusing to help them with this lynch. He carefully analyzed the situation while a2rudeboy became the target of more and more suspicion. He had no interest in getting involved in this shouting match, but he may learn a thing or two watching a2rudeboy get pushed around.
"I looked at the vote counts...to me, it confirms that A2 is scum..."
a2rudeboy told everyone to consider his history, his current obligations, and his personality. There was no way he was a murderer... he was just far too busy.
"..if you are town you are being an ass."
a2rudeboy was completely broken down. People were shouting at him from all sides. He tried to stumble away, he kept telling them he was busy... please leave me alone, he thought, please...
"Question for YOU: Why did you ask this?"
He didn't know. He thought he knew. Wasn't he innocent? Maybe he was a murderer.
"I refuse to believe that a town player would act like a2rude is doing now"
lewarcher, vollkan, LynchMePls, and ckd continued to berate him. He felt totally hopeless and began looking for an escape.
"This is so underwhelming it isn't even funny."
The windows still frozen solid, the doors completely snowed in. He looked up at the noose.
"Someone needs to hammer."
He'll be the hero! This will shut them up. This will make them all happy with him.
"Someone needs to hammer."
He took a deep breath, stood up on the chair, and chose his own fate.

A voice echoed from outside and into the lobby, "Hey, everybody! Let's get the hell out of here!" vollkan ran towards the door. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping. It was actually a very beautiful day. The snow had all melted over night. In the distance was a yellow object that he couldn't quite make out. It was sitting on the top of a hill, bright and nearly beaming. He felt strangely attracted to it, mentally and spiritually. He kept running towards it, almost without feeling. He kept looking forward even though the bottom half of his body felt tingly. Every time he tried to focus on his physical body his mind wouldn't cooperate.
"You did a good job, vollkan." It was that voice again, but he was no longer inside Hotel Death. Why was there still an echo? Perhaps it was the nearby mountains. Although running at a full speed, he was only gaining slightly on the yellow object. He could make it out now though. It was a car, no, a taxicab. There were people inside it as well. It was waiting for him, he somehow knew. He tried to look back, but, again, his mind wouldn't oblige. He felt less and less control over his actions. The people began to take form.
No. This isn't right. He tried his hardest to focus. Where was he? LynchMePls' room. Outside. No, he was in the hotel. His stomache was cold, but he was outside in the warmth. No, he wasn't. The faces were flickering in and out. LynchMePls? "...it means I have no choice but to kill you."
He looked down at his feet. They weren't on the ground, but they were. His body was one the ground, on the cold, hard, wooden floor, but he was floating in mid-air toward the taxicab. silverbullet999 lay in the backseat next to SnakePlissken. What? No, that was LynchMePls, in a dark room, all chopped up. PranaDevil turned to vollkan and smiled. vollkan was sitting in the cab. He saw ckd, pacman, and lewarcher. This isn't where he was supposed to be. No, he was on the floor, the cold, cold, floor. The cab revved up and began to speed down the road. Espeonage was in the passenger's seat. What's going on?
The taxicab stopped, but vollkan had more and more trouble focusing. Who else was working with him? Who could he count on? Was the mission still on? Did they complete it? A door shut somewhere in the distance, and his blood soaked shirt was now the whitest white he had ever seen. Now all he could see was white. Then black, just black.

The remaining three stared at one another. The Sombra Corporation was finished, but they didn't know that. ckd struck immediately, accusing pacman of being the last killer there. pacman shot right back, immediately knowing that ckd was trying to frame him for the murders that he had commited. lewarcher had seen enough, as a former hitman going out for one last big contract, he had everything handed to him on a silver platter. Together with ckd, pacman was lynched on the spot. ckd's bloodshot eyes frantically scanned the corpse of his innocent fellow villager, but there was no incriminating evidence to be found. He asked lewarcher to go check pacman's room, believing that he must have wisely stashed anything Sombra related somewhe-
*BANG*
The deafening shot pierced his spine like a small, firey laser.
*BANG*
Pieces of ckd's skull and flesh spewed forth onto the lifeless pacman.
*BANG BANG BANG* *...click, click*
lewarcher tossed his .45 to the floor and adjusted his jacket. Just another day on the job.

As far as commentary goes, I was genuinely very surprised that the SK wasn't seriously considered during the last day. Obviously I'm completely tainted by the knowledge of the setup, but even in the dead QT there was genuine surprise that lewarcher wasn't town-aligned. That's not to say lewarcher didn't play well. He definitely earned this win and deserves recognition for it. You don't see SK/Third-party wins very often, especially not solo wins, so make sure to at least give him props for that.
I don't think I saw any major errors here in regards to play. Perhaps not paying enough attention to the Hider's death was a bad call, but the town lynched Snake on D3 so it's not like they really made a horrible mistake. The tracker/Gunsmith were taken out too early for the town, which ended up being a pretty bad blow, I think.
All in all I enjoyed the setup very much and thought the game was a pleasure to read. I tried my best to remain true to how Seraphim had started moderating it by using his style and trying to type up the flavor in such a way that it remained true to the theme. I'm no ReaperCharlie or Ythill, but I hope that provided some entertainment. I think the setup was the star of the show here. The shared powers mechanic was extremely interesting and gave some surprising results. As you all now know, there were three different sets of neighborhoods. One was scum/town, one SK/town, and the other was town/town. In the first one, the two cooperated and LynchMePls generally saw vollkan as a solid townie for almost the entire game. vollkan was absolutely able to take this to his advantage, although LynchMePls was successful in calling out PranaDevil possibly before anyone else did in their QT. I don't remember if vollkan ever threw cold water on this or not, but I'm not inclined to do a thorough reread of the QTs. In the second neighborhood zwet was basically a non-factor, which gave the SK total freedom with the kill. Seraphim will hopefully tell you more about how he hammered out this setup from the original concept, but I think I remember that the SK was less powerful than he was here. Anyways, I'm glad it worked out this way for lewarcher, because this was where I saw the biggest area of potential weakness. If the SK and the townie butted heads (like ckd/singersinger), then the SK would have a very hard time winning. The third neighborhood dominated the first day and made it extremely entertaining. It was ironic that the one neighborhood that was town/town was so hostile.
Clearly lewarcher takes the cake here though. There was generally very little suspicion of him, and, not just the game, but the Dead QT is a testament to this.
It's difficult to lay out MVPs in mafia games due to how some players last longer and therefore have more influence on the game's direction. From my observational standpoint I'd say the town MVP was probably LynchMePls. Although he had that fundamental misread on vollkan, he was pivotal in lynching both Prana and Snake. He generally was respected and followed by his fellow townies, and he really helped keep the town in this game after a bad couple of days and the loss of their Tracker and Gunsmith. Had Looker, silver, or DemonHybrid stayed around a little longer, they may have really moved the town forward though.
Scum MVP was pretty much hands down vollkan. He was good at keeping suspicion off of him for the entire game. Hell, if lewarcher hadn't killed him, I'd give him even odds of surviving a hypothetical Day 6 with him in it. He was able to completely take the jailkeeper power away from the town by using it either to his team's advantage or at least making sure that the town couldn't really benefit from it (although it did end up playing a game changing role when they jailed a2rudeboy on the third night).
Great game, everyone. I look forward to hearing from Seraphim and anyone else who wants to talk about the game/setup/flavor/other players/night actions/etc.
