Voting and lynching guidelines:

1) Votes should be in format
Vote: Playername

Vote: Sironigous
.
Note: Should there be a dire voting discrepancy, I will make the final decision based on context and intent

Day and Night:

1) Discussion may continue during twilight.
Note: Twilight is defined as the time between the immediate time of lynch and the thread lock.
2) During night this thread will be locked. All players who have the ability to night talk may begin.
3) The last action submitted by a player will be deemed as the group's or the player's action.
4) If the deadline is met without a lynch,
No Lynch
will occur.

Modding Commitments

1) I, your mod, will be tallying your vote counts. Each vote count post will contain the deadline date for that day.
2) The front page may be edited periodically to include deaths.
Note: Do not rely on the front page for the most current information
3) My color is
blue
. All posts made by the mod after this post will be in that color.
4) I will try to make at least one vote count for each page.

Confirm in the thread! You should receive your role PM shortly.

Alright, I posed this question at the beginning of my last game to good effect in generating discussion, so let's try it here:

@all What's your policy on lynching lurkers?
You're just jealous 'cause my geekshake brings all the nerds to the yard.

For me.

scummy > lurkers.

I'll always vote for someone I think is scummy over someone who isn't posting.

I also don't really like discussion of lurkers, it's a good way for scum to point the finger at people who can't/won't defend themselves

Might wanna change the title Siri. It's Day 1, correct? As for lurkers, I'd prefer to try and pressure them into posting if possible, rather than just lynching. Put at L-2 and if they don't post within a reasonable amount of time lynch 'em if there's not a better choice that day. But overall, I agree with cruel. Scummy over lurking.

Done. :)

I have to agree with cruelty here. I have experience where the lurkers both turn out to be scum or townies so I see lurking as just anti-town at the beginning of the game.

That said if someone is actively lurking, that is a different story (he is online posting in the game, but not posting content). If it's lylo it's also frowned upon. In any case the content of the posts are much more telling then anything.

Also to the newbies here the wiki is your best friend when starting out. :3

Hm, I tend to like to bring up the issue of lurking since in my first game here, the town was in lylo and then the town (which I was apart of) proceeded to lose the game partially because the town players were lurking (in the sense of just not posting, not content lurking) while the scum players were actually more active in talking. So, overall, I find lurking to be hurtful to the town but not necesarilly indicative of who actually is the scum.

Dammit cruelty, you did the vote I was going to do, and for the exact same reason. :D

Instead,
vote: DTMaster
for bandwagoning against LolIMadeAnAccount while making it appear as if that is not what he is doing.

@geek

Lurking is anti-town motion, I agree. But it's a case by case scenario. A good rule of thumb is to judge people by their content, rather then their post count.

@Vendel
You do realize that lol is 3 votes away from dying? Besides bandwagoning on the first page on day one isn't scummy.

1. It forces a action reaction response on both party members where you can discuss and analyze their posts.

2. If the bandwagon goes to quick lynch then it's obvious that scum played a good part in it and we catch easy scum. No town in their right mind would quick lynch another person like that.

From what I can gather lurking is most decidedly anti-town but sadly not always indicative of scummy behavior.
Scummy behavior will indeed always take precedent for me in terms of who I vote for.
I realize I've basically just repeated what everyone else has said but, it seems to be the logical conclusion. It seems villagers get replaced for inactivity just as often as scum on this forum.

/VOTE VENDELWALKER
From what I understand, two votes are just as safe as one. Worst case scenario is that two villagers voted for the person and with only two wolves L-5 should be impossible even if the decide to jump on the bandwagon. Your logic is faulty, which although not indicative of scum in a noob game makes me wary.

@DTMaster, In a newb game an experienced player can take advantage of the logic fallacies of the new players, it might make spotting scum easier but it seems the most advantageous when an experienced player is scum. The experienced player could then point out the newb logic, to get the village to vote out an innocent (albeit newb) villager.
What do you think is the best way for us to spot newb logic as opposed to faulty and potentially scummy logic?

Let me explain: I know that DTMaster was using a joking reason for voting for LolIMadeAnAccount, but I was thinking of this: it could make other players, who don't want to be voted out, think "Hey great, let's take him, not me." What made me think of this kind of behavior is that I have seen it in real life, so I know people work this way. And I am thinking, this could be in DTMaster's mind also.

All right, I can agree to
weak
logic, but not
faulty
. :P

I'm you IC for this game guys. If anyone has any questions, ask me, and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

By the way,
vote geekalicious
. Why bring the idea of lurking in the RVS (Random Voting Stage)?

I'll try my best to post after school; I have to go now.
