Mini 961: Insane Asylum II: GAME OVER :O!

It was a bright and sunny day.
Absolutely nothing was going wrong, and it was business as usual.
When SUDDENLY!...someone's favorite teddy bear went missing.

That someone was UncertainKitten, warden of The Insane Asylum. Yes, I am not making this up. The place is called The Insane Asylum.
Not willing to stand for this, UncertainKitten immediately declared lockdown. A very special lockdown with the intent to divide and conquer. After thorough examination of security tapes, she successfully determines that the culprit can only be amongst 12 people. Isolating these 12, she is determined to find her teddy bear.

Always fond of Weird Puzzle Shit, she also decides to make a game of it and have the group do their work for her. She informs them that if they can use their skills and talents to find the teddy bear thieves, then she will free them from the Asylum. However, if the teddy bear thieves prevail, then they will be freed, since their play was clearly superior to hers.

Will the teddy bear thieves prevail? Will the poor inmates and doctors survive? Will they out the villainous thieves? Will UncertainKitten even remember her teddy bear a week from now!?

1) I am the mod thy goddess, and whatever I say is law. If you make a mistake voting, tell me so I can correct the vote count.

2) Don't have fun at the expense of the other players in this game (in other words, don't be a jackass). Repeated or extreme violations of this rule will result in being Evicted from the Asylum

CHANGED: 2a) Attempting to use loopholes in the rules to gain an advantage in the game is considered jackassery, and will be treated as such. This applies to things like encrypted codes, invisible text, editing and deleting posts, quoting Role PMs, using the formatting of the role PM to gain an advantage, etc. Please, use your common sense!

2b) If there is any question about whether something might break the rules, it's probably best if you don't do it or at least ask first.

2c) If you are Evicted from the Asylum, it will be up to my discretion whether Day ends or not, as well as if you personally lose.

12) Unless V/LA is declared in thread, you are expected to post at least once every 48 hours. Failure to do so results in prodding for the first two offenses, and the final offense will involve you being force replaced.

13) Twilight posting is alright. Until I lock the thread you can discuss anything.

I'm saving the votecount for next page since I came home so late into this one last night. The amount of prods I just had to do is unacceptable. Both from the players and the fact that I as a mod had people going as far as SIX DAYS unprodded.

The lights started dimming in the asylum. It seemed that a decision had to be made soon or the warden would just shoot someone for the lulz. All eyes quickly turn to Ellibereth, who appeared to be wearing the fetish fuelistic sight of a short skirted nurse outfit. For some reason this probably wasn't very hot since Ellibereth is male. Well, I mean, he might be a bishonen, who knows.

Anyway, long and short of it is that he ends up getting strung up and lynched. Everyone eagerly searches his things...to find that he's a registered nurse and has no evidence ever having touched the warden's teddy bear. Oh, they also find some very interesting charts.

After apparently the events that ended the previous were lost to the mists of time or something, everyone settled in restlessly. Very little talking was done as the extent of corruption in the staff was beginning to become apparent. But most disturbingly, it seemed that none of the inmates had been found guilty of the crime against the warden.

When day broke and the warden demanded everyone wake up, it was trudging, preparing for another grueling day of accusations. At this point, the dead body in the room was just another part of waking up. They grimly identified the body, and found that he had nothing to do with the crime, and was in fact the last of the staff members.

The crime was amongst them, and only them now. They hoped they could find the person willing to kill to defend their theft...before they themselves were killed.

Honestly, not really sure who would have won this even with optimal play. I think this is quite literally a random result game only tilted in town's favors by lynching intelligently. The scum and the town have so much bullshit that cancels each other out. I think it went well.

1. Due to psychologist/infectious, players targeting a player who has sanity changed get their own sanity changed as well? i.e. Tar was psychologisted by SP and I targeted Tar with Cop, the sanity flip caught on to me as well?

SP's ability did make Tar's sanity switching ability infect you as well. I think it made you paranoid.

2. Yosarian psychologist treatment removes miller and the 1-time infectious global as well? This seems like it nerfs town instead of helping it . Especially since millers claim early, sanity flips, etc. Would MO's infectious disappear as well? Can he use more than 1 ability at a time?

m_o could only use one ability at a time. It would remove his infectious if Yos targetted him. Basically, it trades guaranteed saneness for the miller protection, which does lead to interesting situations. Not sure if it nerfs or helps town, so much as changes how a role should play.

3. SK is fairly overpowered to me, but town/scum each have their own 'wtf' overpowered as well.

Oh yeah. This is the craziest SK I ever made. But it still had a lot of chinks in it's armor.

You were really only a half godfather, a fact I forgot several times. Fortunately it never came into play.

In the first insane asylum, town couldn't trust their abilities at all. I don't remember if scum had any abilities (just godfather + 2 goons?).

Oh, scum was VERY OP in IA I. They had a goon, a godfather, and a reverse death miller. i.e., two people who always showed up as town, and one that flipped as town. If Crazy hadn't screwed up so badly, scum would have probably swept the game.

And, yeah, swingy is basically the watchword of UK games now. Even in ridiculously stacked endgame, anyone can win.

Either way, I seriously had no idea of a lot of the role interactions when I rolled this out. The fact that SC vig could be reloaded with Tar protects is something I COMPLETELY MISSED. As well as DGB being able to get through bulletproof and such. It was just a ton of stuff that was like "heeeey, that's neat!"

I'm still amazed as well that you lived through claiming psych, SP. I basically gave you a VT safeclaim specifically because you'd basically be counterclaiming the town psych and probably lose.
