Nocmen wrote:mykonian's post, with this playerlist, makes me ask the following questions about meta, to all of the players.
1. How often do you feel you use meta as an argument in Mafia?
2. Do you prefer proactive (using as a reason to investigate a player's actions) or reactive (using to backup/contradict what a player did) meta?
3. How often are you to research meta on a player whose meta you don't know in the game?
4. Do you prefer to use meta to defend a player as being town, or attack them for being scum?
1. Never. Meta is a difficult subject to argue with.
2. I really have no idea what you mean here. I need to know what kind of person is on the other side of a post to understand why he's making that post. Without meta, reads on people are inaccurate.
3. Too little. Though as you can understand from the above, there is little benefit in rereading. I benefit more from talking outside of the game (before the game actually starts), so I know what kind of person is playing. The same can be done from games I played in, but if I'm rereading, I usually can't feel what that person thought making a post, or assess how the game went.
4. Both are ok. If I know more then the rest of the game about someone's allignment, I'll talk about it.
Nice questions, btw. Usually RQS's start with sillyer questions.Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.-

Meta is overrated. A good player will play about the same way as town and scum.

1. How often do you feel you use meta as an argument in Mafia?Rarely.
2. Do you prefer proactive (using as a reason to investigate a player's actions) or reactive (using to backup/contradict what a player did) meta?Neither, but I'd lean proactive.
3. How often are you to research meta on a player whose meta you don't know in the game?Never. I rely on first-hand meta almost exclusively. If I haven't interacted with a player, I don't have a meta on them. Meep.
4. Do you prefer to use meta to defend a player as being town, or attack them for being scum?Attack. Anyone who uses meta to defend a player will be on my shitlist. Anyone who uses meta to defend themselves will have my vote.
Vote: Reck. I didn't get an OMGUS vote from the events that ended the second BT. Obvscum move there. (Plus, he's probably just a godfather, and I'm probably an usurper again. <3)Defined by who I dislike, not who I like~-

Hello, I'm TheJakalope, If you ever played with me then, I'm sorry. If you haven't, I'll be your VI for this game.
First things first.
1. How often do you feel you use meta as an argument in Mafia?Depends on the player. Obviously, a newbie playing like chesskid is going to get lynched, but chesskid doesn't.
2. Do you prefer proactive (using as a reason to investigate a player's actions) or reactive (using to backup/contradict what a player did) meta?Reactive.
3. How often are you to research meta on a player whose meta you don't know in the game?I never research.
4. Do you prefer to use meta to defend a player as being town, or attack them for being scum?Like I said, depends on the player.-

And My answers:
1. Occasionally, only as needed in a tough situation, once or twice a game, but never in a high pressure situation like end game. I prefer to use it as a way of noting a disconnect in thinking/actions.
2. Reactive, I'll almost only use it as a way of backing up reasoning in the game.
3. Rarely. I try to use it when it's brought up, and see if I agree with it, if it's a player whose meta I don't know.
4. Both, leaning towards the attacking/scum arguements.
1) Very little.
2) proactive
3) If the meta is the reasoning behind the vote/wagoning, I don't mind looking it up.
4) Defend someone been town.

Why are FATE, RECKONER, KATSUKI, DRAM, and MYKO invading my game?
Wtf >=(
This game, as always, will be won with the assistance of my beautiful self. Flameaxe will be the serial killer as always and xvart will be the, ummm, awesome person.
myko's #5 reads non-mafia to me.
Nocmen's #14 draws suspect though. But I'll answer anyways! =D
1. How often do you feel you use meta as an argument in Mafia?
To defend myself? Very often. To attack others? If I'm focusing-in on a person and think they're scum, then I will also meta them to see if I can find any concrete patterns to result in me either: nailing in the coffin or make me rethink the situation.
2. Do you prefer proactive (using as a reason to investigate a player's actions) or reactive (using to backup/contradict what a player did) meta? I'm not sure I understand what this means? XD
3. How often are you to research meta on a player whose meta you don't know in the game? As I already said, if I'm focusing in on a player that I really think is scum, it is not uncommon for me to then look at their other games.
4. Do you prefer to use meta to defend a player as being town, or attack them for being scum? I use it for both. Bias for either determination is bias and dumb.
I think asking questions about meta will only infuriate the MAFIA to act anti-meta... >_<
...
Also #25 once again makes me think Nocmen is mafia trying to get a legit reason to join the bandwagon.
...
I disagree with #32, a good player who wants to win will play different as town and scum, that way they'll be seen as unlynchable when they are town, and only lose when they're mafia... =D Chances are they will be town more often so they will win more often. Bwhahahah... or maybe I'm just screwing with you >=D
...
Vote: Nocmen
1: He is making an active effort to seem town by asking questions.
2: He is asking Fate for a legit reason to vote Katsuki... what townie does this? Mafia lookin' for a reason to join the bandwagon.-

@Flameaxe: Why post an overly apologetic first post when you can, yknow, do something that doesn't look like you're being paranoid and defending yourself from attacks that haven't been made yet?

- The only time I will use meta is when someone suspicious says something unique and I'll ask them or research myself (depending on how specific it is) for examples;
- Reactive, as outlined previously;
- Never; and,
- Attack them for being scum.
