Towwl is there a particular reason you jumped to thinking that playing with fire was a scumslip instead of using the idiom in the traditional sense of “engaging in a dangerous activity” like, I dunno, an RVS E-1?
I probably should've used a /s on that line. What initially pinged me about 60 and led me to post 64 is what I see as fake caution. After Merlyn asked me about it I noticed the wordplay (but thought it was coincidental) so I poked fun at it by calling it a scumslip.
weirdest post in the thread so far. to recap: you made up some shit that was obviously wrong, got called out on it, and backpedaled off of “it was a joke?”

I was asking cuz I dunno what you're saying when Towwl says he's joking in this post. Like, yeah, if it was after someone called him out then sure it could be backpedaling but this is in the same post. Jeez the Wheeze

any sort of plausible deniability was immediately pulverized as soon as "am I dense? do I not get the joke?" came up on the thread. it was obviously meant seriously, at least partially, so really whether or not that's the whole post or not doesn't even matter - none of it makes any sense and the push was pretty bad even by rvs standards

it happened the last game i played, with none other than meuh, in the thread which is conveniently linked in 171

For the record, while I do still consider this Mostly an RVS vote, I also don't take putting her at E-1 lightly, and have a small seed of reasoning behind it.
what is that reasoning?
If I were ready to share it, I would have done so with the vote. For now, just know that there Is reasoning.

I feel like Drew's read on me and Black is the kind of moon logic someone would most likely only come to if they had no context of roles
This is an open setup though, we all have context of roles.
probably better way to phrase it is knowledge of what roles people are since scum would know one other person's role. I think Doctor Drew does genuinely believe I was signaling and if he was the other scums then he probably wouldn't push me over it. Well actually yes he would cuz that's probably an indicator of "getting it". Oh. Ok nevermind my logic makes no sense

ok wait nvm my logic does make sense I remembered what I meant. In this scenario scum!Drew knows for a fact if there's at least one scum in this scenario (his partner) or there's two townies (well I guess from his POV there we could be partners but I think Drew does genuinely believe there's a signal regardless of alignment). In all those scenarios scum!Drew would know this wasn't actually a signal and would probably be less inclined to make a leap of logic so I think he is being genuine here. I guess there's also the scenario where scum!Drew is trying to respond to my signal so I guess that's a thing but also him harping on specifically my thing makes that theory kinda murky since it puts me in danger (I guess he could still be thinking that it isn't actually going to put me in danger because people have already expressed disapproval of looking for signals to scumhunt but that's nearing tinfoil territory so I'm not gonna put too much weight into that possibility)

Black's votes are scummy but then scum are probably less likely than town to do something scummy like that so I am going to townread black instead
Please explain how this makes any sense at all
What is there you don't understand? Something that's blatantly 'scummy' is something scum will be mindful to avoid doing most of the time, whereas town are less likely to care
what about Black's votes make you think that mindful scum wouldn't vote like she did?
I want to help Bingle's cause here. I don't really think she was signaling tbh, and my first impression from Ausuka's posts was that she felt confident in what she was saying. Initially I liked this but after reading over her ISO the confidence reads little scummy to me. Part of this has to do with me personally being more confident when I'm scum, and I know I can't really accurately apply that to other people but I want to push this gut feeling and this wagon anyway
I do not like the reasoning for this vote

I think scum want to publicly town hunt this game. Like moreso than usual because I feel like the scum teams probably want to coordinate with each other as far as knocking off townies. The problem is townies are going to do this too because it's what townies do. So it might be hard to pinpoint where the noise is coming from but I think we can at least feel good about scum helping town sort
this feels like fluff which is a thing that is probably still scummy in this setup VOTE: Black
I don't think acting confident is a good reason to vote someone. Though thinking about it now I probably would've been fine if you had just said it was a gutread lol. Also I don't think 448 is fluff anymore cuz Bellaphant's explanation made sense. So like whatever

The Bulge - Apparently, the main thrust of Bulge's scum read on me was my leading question at Ausuka. I had thought there was a significant portion to do with the mech speak accusation, but on reread it does seem very reasonable that that callout was nonspecific and not actually aimed at me. Bulge's accusation that it's ridiculous I would think so is, imo, silly, since his clarification that it wasn't actually about mechspeak was directly quoting a post about people specifically calling me out for mechspeak. The implication there, to me, was that the 388 was in fact singling me out. I don't really think that is unreasonable. Of the people voting me, I think this is the worst vote, but I don't particularly think it makes Bulge scum.
what exactly makes it the worst vote then? Kinda noncommittally shades The Bulge without actually justifying it (cuz most of the post is about stuff that was just a misunderstanding it seems)

I mean I giggled at the jokes, but I don’t like that there’s no reason.
hey I have reasons now. I explain one in like 713. Also I agree with Osuka's 737

you say it's the worst vote on you, so do you refute my reasoning as i just explained it? i think my vote on the wagon has the most substance to it by far, what makes it worse than a purported omgus vote, a bad meta case, and a sheep?
Worst in the sense that of the four votes, I see the most scum intention behind it, which is not much. OMGUS votes are generally NAI, I think Vizzy's blind sheeping is actually pretty towny, and I think Firebringers shitcase is actually very towny.
at first this scanned like you avoiding saying something about The Bulge specifically cuz of his more content but blep I guess I can see how The Bulge is just at the bottom cuz that's how ranking things work. Makes me wonder why you even bothered to bring it up, though.

unless i missed something - why are you offering reads on the people on your wagon? what is this?
Why would I not analyze the biggest wagon as literally the only person who knows for sure it's on town? What? Did you get into SG's acid, osuka?
that post is just sort of shit and it makes no sense to me. if your analysis of the biggest wagon on none other than yourself is “everyone’s town, they have good reasons, fucking rainbows and sunshine”, isn’t that just one step short of a scumclaim? you somehow simultaneously made yourself look worse, the wagon look better, and did all of that while inexplicably adding zero meaningful content other than the fact that you clearly don’t have good (or real?) reads on any of the people voting you
This is the post in question.
You say that my post sucks because... I think the four people on my wagon have shown reasonable progressions for being on my wagon.
You characterize that as "everyone's town, they have good reasons, fucking rainbows and sunshine" which is itself a gross misrep of y'know, actual reasons why none of the votes are particularly scummy to me. Then you say that thinking the votes on me aren't from scum is "one step short of a scumclaim.
What part of that isn't an implication that people scumreading you can't be town?
oh ok this were not my reasons. I didn't like the readslist cuz it felt too much like playing it safe and not really saying anything. This post makes me feel differently though like I think they were genuine (which scum can fake and I'm still not sure how to contend with that lol but whatevs)
